Yeah, some of their information is inaccurate. But a lot of it is, so you can never be sure...

It says they'll make 100 episodes.
Yeah....they wish they will.

got to calm down
No, *sniff*, not HBO. I don't get HBO. :(

Hey, look at that. Proof of the utter and complete death of anything related to SW. :( I shall don black clothing and mourn my loss. *sniffle*

What is wrong about hyperspace? They have been doing it before...
No, nothing's wrong with hyperspace at all. I love hyperspace, I've had it since the month it came out a few years ago, in fact I'm up for a renewal in June, I think? Anyway, it's the announcement of proof of a new tv show.... That's why I'm so upset.... This little part of the article:
"The first looks at the forthcoming animated Star Wars series from Lucasfilm Animation. The 3-D digital series is in development right now at Skywalker Ranch, and soon the veil will be lifted on the secrecy surrounding the show."
i cant wait for the tv show. it's about the clone wars, so more CLONES
But how could it be a Clone Wars 3 if the end of Clone Wars 2 was the beginning of ROTS, and after ROTS there is no more Clone Wars? Unless the show will be a prequel?
it is a prequel
It can't ruin Star Wars. It will just prevent it from dying out as soon. And then after the 3D show... The live action TV series... That basically assures that Star Wars will be a pretty big thing for the next 5 years.
I echo another poster's sediments; I do hope that Fett isn't the main villain against a bunch of dorky Jedi conceived only for the television show. I'd probably root for Fett all the time, much like how I rooted for Vader while reading "The Rise of Darth Vader" :P
Depending on the timeline offered, it might be nice to see at least a small part of the show showing how he met Sintas Vel -- there's a poor record of Star Wars romance when you think of Anakin and Padme, but then when you think of Leia and Han, there is some glimmer of hope :P
Exactly. A live action series would be next, and that's the one that will give SW the finishing death blow.
Holiday Special, anyone? Remember Carrie singing to the SW theme? Imagine seeing that same sorta thing, people singing corny words to the SW theme while images of flat, no depth characters being badass by explosions, a power rangers sorta thing.
Remember the Ewok Adventures? Imagine bad actors and non-canonity.
Remember Droids? Imagine there being no real connection to the general story of SW.
Remember Ewoks? Imagine most the aliens never even being heard of before.
Remember Clone Wars? Imagine it going against canon.
Now imagine a thousand n00bs running wild spreading rumors and falsities and lies about what they think SW is, while we who hold the truth sit back and let the n00bs take over, and eventually we get old and die and these n00bs are the new generation of SW fans who lead the other SW fans into becomming not SW fans, but complete idiots. *sigh* I'm sorry, it's just, it's the whole humanity is doomed thing, I just thought SW fans were smart enough to not let SW come to ruin. I think I was wrong. And it just hurts cause I had hoped SW could be my refuge from the idiots of the world. Oh, well. I'll have to find something else, something they can't kill.
Go ahead, discuss your ultimate destruction plans. I'll leave you guys in peace now, enjoy it while you can cause in a few years none of us will be on the boards anymore.
Meh, those you mentioned are old and decrepid. They were made for young people. Perhaps this could be a chance for the idea of a Star Wars TV show to redeem itself. Remember, real Star Wars fans are what keeps Star Wars running. I beleive Lucas has learned this, and will now take ideas from his spies aquired from the real fans.
But, I am glad you brought those other shows up. Did Ewok Adventures, Ewoks, Droids, or the Holiday Special destroy Star Wars? No, or we wouldn't be here today. So if it does end up like those, it can't demolish Star Wars as a whole.
Yeah, if it's really bad we (the pre-TV show fans) can always start websites making fun of it or pull something along the lines of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. And look at how much the Holiday Special has contributed to Star Wars. We wouldn't have four-armed chefs or Lumpy or Bea Arthur dancing with cantina aliens, if there hadn't ever been a Holiday Special. If you've ever read Jaxxon's 11 you'll know what I mean.
Star wars has been around for nearly 29 years, it isnt going go anywhere, for a long time to come, if at all ever.
100 episodes.
What. Is. He. Thinking.
He's relying on millions of fanboys devoutley worshipping each episode the second it airs.
What if it sucks?
If the first run bombs with viewers, he's got 80+ more in the can.
And with each episode, fans will lose more
and more
respect for the Star Wars universe.
Unless George would go completely against character and come up with something good. Fat chance.
Well...at least it isn't post-ROTJ.
I hope that is 100 episodes of the Live Action series rather than the CGI one...
I hope it is about Boba. Or Jango.
yeah same
on the off hand you know this the 400th post in Film and Television? pretty cool
More info on it (both the CGI and Live Action series):

I hope it's about Boba. Jango? I'd go insane. My pitiful human body could not contain the rage I'd feel at George Lucas. I would describe what I would do, but there are youngins here.
Currently listening to: Dead Skin by crossfade
Mood: Wrathful
Or mandos............That would be cool
the more i think about. i cant help but think that the show for me will never be good. hill some of the comics kinda suck. im now the most hated man on the boards.
They can't do any harm, only good. If it is a complete failure, people won't beleive in it, just as some people don't beleive in Jango. It would only add to his mystery... But then again, it would also add to his popularity, which could be good or bad. Bad for us, because there would be so many new Fett fans and we would all just become random Fett fans... But think of all the good. Perhaps a Boba Fett video game, more Fett collectibles, more Fett fans to create Fett related things. Also, more promotional images to be rendered and used in graphics.
So the sword has two edges. Personally, I prefer the edge with Boba in the series. All that merchandising is just too much to give up, even if the show stinks.
If they do Boba's personality right (man of little words, extreme morality, etc) it'll be good. If Daniel Logan learns to do Jeremy's cat-walk, it'll be really good.
you guys and gals do have a point but i cant trust the tv networks to do it right but you do have a point on the merchandising that wold mak a lot of new figers to buy.
I didn't read thru all the pages so this has probably been said,
But I heard Mace didn't die in Episode 3 and the Live action series is planned to be Boba Tracking him down...
Never heard that....i don't think Windu could have survived that.....i'm almost certain he died there....actually i am sure that he died there...books confirm it. must be myth...that's all i can say....

I wouldn't be surprised if they did do that for a new tv series. Not only are people brainwashed into loving Mace for some reason, but they want to do anything they can to ruin SW so of course they would make Mace live so they can feature him in a tv series. Of course Mace would be the hero and would only play with Boba, and Boba would be the villian who was always losing, yet never dying.

i know and agree. i hate it when people try to ruin star wars like that. and i can't see why some people worship mace either...maybe they just like Samuel Jackson? idk...but it is rubbish...this whole bringing mace back to life....some people these days.....uuurrrgh.

I don't think they'll bring Mace back to life, and if I'm wrong, I promise you I'll shed tears over the sheer madness of it. I'll also cry if they turned Boba into Wiley Coyote and make fun of him all the time. That would be utter misery. Please GL, let someone who cares about SW write the scripts!
I think you're right, I doubt they'll bring Mace back. I just wouldn't be surprised if they did, but I doubt they would.
Would anyone agree with me that it would be pretty good if Mace turned up as an old hermit in One episode of a boba Fett tv show and at the end of the episode Boba Managed to kill him?
Heh. This brought me out of lurkie mode.
More than anything, I'm scared that it might reeeeeally end up sucking. And if it did end up being all about Fett, then that would suck too cuz it might make him look bad. I have some faith in Daniel, because I think he did a good job in Episode II; it's the writers and directors I'm worried about.
Then again, it could be really hella awesome and I'd have another Fett outlett.
I have some faith in Daniel...
I do too, to an extent. I think if left on his own (with no guidance but that of Jeremy Bulloch) then he could do fantastic. But like you said, bad writers could mess it up. I'm afraid that they would pressure him into making Boba out of character. Like, if they told him, "Boba would do this," and it's totally untrue, I don't know how far Daniel would go to stand up to them.
Glad you're out of Lurkie mode. I too am a former lurker--welcome to the BFFC!

!
Also, he might not know that he's acting out of Fett's character. So, I guess it would depend on one or both of two things. How big a fan he is of the character, or how much work and research he feels he should put into the role.
Glad you're out of Lurkie mode. I too am a former lurker--welcome to the BFFC!
Thanks. :)
Actually when the old board was up I use to post here under a different name. But then one day I tried to change my e-mail address and for some reason the ...thing wouldn't send me my new password. So I just sort of drifted away for awhile.
Welcome to the boards fairyblood...we're glad to have you join us.

Yes, very true. I like to think that he's a Fettie and has read everything, but I just don't know. But lots of actors read the original books before they start their performance, so maybe he'll do research when filming begins. Or maybe we'll all just have to hassle him on his blog and tell him to read more. Maybe if he understood how much it means to us, he might be persuaded to put his heart into it.

Oh yeah, I went to a website one time named Otaku.com, here........:)

Ooh, I remember you! Good to have you back! The old boards were very buggy and kicked out a bunch of people who didn't want to go. But these work perfectly.
What do you all think is the likelihood that they would hire people like Elizabeth Hand as creative consultants?

Or K.W. Jeter?
He's awesome with his books, too many story lines for me though. :/
The idea of a new Boba series is just another way to keep SW alive. More power to Lucas! :) But I dont think I'll like it, cuz it'll mess up the vision I had when reading the Boba Fett kids books. :/

It will be a cold day in hell when George picks up a Star Wars book.
I agree with most everything Miba said, in that making a live action show featuring Fett would butcher the character as we know him. I'm just a little more worried that he will use Daniel Logan as a "villian" to whatever idiotic, probly Jedi heroes he stars.
What I would like to see though, is a seperately produced anime 26-part series featuring Boba Fett's better hunts (somewhat like Cowboy Bebop.) As long as George doesn't get his fingers in it, I think the high-quality anime medium could depict Fett really well.
But that's just me....
Lol thats pretty funny!
