Why are there still monkeys? Look, I've spent the better part of my young life studying this. I even met a guy who will pay $100,000 to the first person who has proof for evolution. And you're 95% is soooo outdated! Modern scientists and experts say that evolution is one of the great scientific jokes of the future! Like the world being flat.
Evolution is a theory, NOT SCIENCE. So is creation. They are both a religion. I'll try not to get into this, as I'm very disturbed. Love you all!

Some may run a short while, but none of them would bide.

LOL. Listen, nothing can realy be proved when you think about it, beyond a shadow of a doubt, theres always going to be the person who says 'thats not true'. Monkeys still exist because their better suited to their own enviroment you get me?

Evolution doesn't work that fast. Plus, we have just about everything we need.

Draco's right. Living things go through evolution when we need a different trait to survive. And it also doesn't happen over night. The transformation could take millions of years to take effect.

Evolution, normally, is not that fast. Changes take hundreds of years. And we are still evolving. People 300 years ago were shorter then we are today. And 600 years ago they were even shorter! We simply haven't changed especially noticiably because we haven't needed to.

most people don't realize that when an idea is dubbed a theory, its after years of research and a great number of

scientists stand behind it, you cant say "its just a theory" because a theory is a developed and backed scientific

idea.

No offense J. Fett but, you're not making any sense to me. Scientists are always digging into the ground. Why is that so signifigant...? Also, if you think of something to add to a post shortly afterwards, just use the edit button. It prevents page clutter from 1 sentance posts.

Um, if I remember right, in order to be scientific, an idea has to be these three things: OBSERVABLE, TESTABLE, and REPEATABLE. Evolution is NOT observable(unless you think short people are not as good as tall ones like Cecilia thinks((and how could that be good for humans Cecilia? It wouldn't help us in our inviorment 'cause we'd hit our heads on doors!)).). Evolution is NOT testable(Were YOU there???). And(duh) evolution is NOT repeatable!(no, that's not gill slits on a baby in the womb!). THUUUUSS...Evolution is NOT science. After all, no one can argue with science!

A scientific proof will have to come into play here. Their bones will have turned to oil or dust by now.

I'm not saying its bad to be short. And there is actually proof to humans growing taller and you actually said it yourself. Doorways. Very old houses still exist in some parts of the world, and their doorways are rather short. Modern people duck through them. And not just doorways. My 12th grade drama teacher took a trip to London during the summer before my senior year. One of the things he did was go to an authentic Shakespear era play house in London on Drury Lane. He loved the play (Shakespear), but was in pain afterwards because of how cramped he was for 3 hours. Because the seats were very small. Not because he was some giant fat person or something, but because people were shorter then and thus needed less leg room, whereas my teacher was over 6 feet tall.

And you can't say "but there are still monkeys" as an anti-evoluton excuse either. Just because there is an evolutionary offshot from one family (in this case, apes) doesn't mean the entire family dissapears. Notice how all apes are different from species to species. Because they all evolved differently. Even though theres a common ancestor, enough of the population goes their seperate way and evolves based on different things. The climate, the enviorment, the food.... Its all a factor. Evolution is adapting to these new things over time. The thing that works survives. The thing that doesn't work dies. Thats why, generally, evolution is very very slow. But some things need to adapt quickly to changes as well. The animals that can't adapt die, but the ones that can live. Thats why there have been several extinction events that have drastically changed the life of this planet. I don't see dinosaurs walking around outside of my house afterall. But, I DO hear birds.

Ok, well the only one who seems to be having issues with this is J.Fett.
Anyone else think its ironic that basicaly just after mibas post someone gets mad?

Anyways Cecilia has  a good point, people tend to get taller generation to generation, this might have something to do with evolution. Evolution is realy just the passing on of traits and characteristsics from parents to offspring, and the changes that eventually become dominante due to that. like if one century most people are blonde, and the next most are brunette or whatever, thats evolution. people often say if eveolution is real how come we cant fly, or dont have gils or something, simply because thats not a human trait, i cant think of any mammal  that has gills, or wings, so we probably wont have either ever.  unless some crazy scientist guy makes it happen that is.

Why does everyone think I'm trying to prove creationism?!! As I've said like fifty times already, THEY ARE !BOTH! THEORIES!!!

As for the hight thing, how do you explain people who are getting shorter from generation to generation. Asian people aren't tall. And you said that tall people are no better than short, yeah, but according to that, then I'm no better than a monkey!

Dinos to birds...I thought that one died about five years ago oh well. Dinos are reptile. Birds are not reptiles. Bird have wings, dinos do not. Scales to feathers? Scientificly impossible! They're spines are completly different. And the average dino was the size of a sheep. Dino-"I was two-foot-three, and now I'm just three." Quite a size change for just a few million years! They're diets different too! Don't tell me they're organs changed! And if it took all that time, it stands to reason that quite a few would have died during the change! So give me ONE transitional fossil, and well talk.

Archeaopterix? It's a "Fully feathered, flying bird.". That was it's final analasis. I did not have scales, and as for the claws, um, maybe you should look at eagles, and other birds of prey. And the teeth? there are birds TODAY that have teeth! Yes, they are somewhat rare, but they are there.

(Oh, and though you may not have one in you're back yard Cecilia, there are thousands of "monster" stories, like Loche Ness, Mokale Embembe, and Ogopogo.)

Some may run a short while, but none of them would bide.

Dinosaurs aren't officially classified reptitles you know.... Dinosaurs are their very own special catagory; Dinosaurs. And a quite a few Dinosaurs DID have feathers. It's an unknown number because only one part of the world allowed for the right kind of fossilization to allow an imprint of the fuzzy feathers around the Dinosaurs, so its possible that many a species had feathers. After all, Dinosaurs and birds shared a common ancestor. It just took a little longer for birds to appear.

Hey Fox! Remeber me? You're awesome!

Yo regimas, yeah, I'm only a kid, but when I was nine, I got an adult book discussing evolution/creation, and it made so much more sense than everything else I'd been told. After long talks, my parents began to understand too. Now I'm fourteen, and I've learned a lot these last five years, I even taught a class with four people once(two their attention spans were very short...)! And I've never been to a school, so no science class for me.

January 12, 2009 7:18 pm #

Its not a sure thing that they really were covered in scales. It is very hard to determine what the skin was like when there really is only fossilized bone left. We're lucky that the feather imprints have remained in Mongolia. Anyways, thats my example of evolution right there, with species having feathers and others that did not. There are also theorys that some baby Dinosaurs were covered in down to help keep them warm when it was cold and vice versa. When they got older and could tolerate hot days and cold nights better, the down would be shed. Unless it was a feathered species.

It could have if it was frozen in a quick period of time.  But I only recall this ever happening to a woolly mammoth, never a dinosaur.

I've never heard of these viable red blood cells. I recall that a few years ago these scientists ground up a bone and found still somewhat organic muscle tissue. at least, the processed fossil didn't behave like rock OR bone. And there has definitly never been a frozen Dinosaur. Ever. They've found them in mummified states, but thats extremely rare.
