"I like Ike."
Gas prices are high everywhere (LOL it is one reason why it is good that I do not drive)
Having said that, it is not like I am escaping it. The gas for the house and electricity have also gone up sharply in price. This winter will be very challenging keeping the money that we spend on them to a sensible level (I feel for the younglings as their bedroom gets so cold in the winter)

WOW! Gas was under 3 dollars??!!! It has been that cheap in NJ for some time. Its only about 3.39 ( i got some today....) and thats up from the 3.25 it was before Ike. Heating is another story. I think I'm just going to stay in bed all winter on my laptop, as my parents never let it get above 62 degrees, but thats for where the thermostat is.. not my room. It will be like 55 some mornings.

My rooom is cold in winter and hot in summer....write know I have my ceiling fan on, and I have a box fan and a mini box fan that i use at night so I won't melt....just think I'll be gettin' my heat blanket and my heater back in my room in a few months........
Below 3.00??? Wow! It's been over 3.00 here for a very long time. It went up to, like, 4.15 or something here two or three weeks ago, but has since slowly dropped back down to 3.73.

I can barly remamber when it was below 2$!
I can remember 89 cent gas once. Just barely though, and it was in a small town. But mostly I remember it being just over a dollar.

Its been above $3 here for a long time. Thats one of the perks to not driving. ^^; At least it won't be so bad here in the wintertime to heat the house. I live in southren Arizona, so winters don't get super cold (at least, snow is a rare phenomenon). So, the house won't cost -too- much to heat. Not as much as very cold places anyways.
Luckily the hurricane season is slowing down at this point, and I doubt it will be anything like the 05 season, where we had named storms...in December. So there probably won't be any more storm interference at least. Well, not to the severity of Ike anyways.
"Does anyone remember the days when gas was UNDER a dollar??" My mom does. In 1977, Austin Texas apparently. Just blows my mind.
You're in southern AZ? What part?
I'm in Yuma........not forever hopefully, but I'm here for the time being
Wow, Yuma gets REALLY hot in the summer time. I live in Tucson, been here for the past 9 years. I plan to move to California in the near future though. =3
It dropped to 3.53 today. :D

My grandmother remembers when gas was a quarter per gallon...good ol' 1930's

Fancy that. I used to get like .87 cents back when we first had my van...
and wouldn't i like to have one of those fancy hybrids... but i have no money for a new car right now... plus none of them fits most of my needs beside being gas efficient.

Interesting, you're about the closest member on the boards to me...every body else seems to be on the east coast. All except Cujo and Aaron who are in California *I think* and of course the Canadians on the boards. I guess we be the Dune Sea members :D
Isn't this off-topic?
