Did you guys here about that Big Bang thing that was going on to day?

are you referring to that experiment thingy going on in Europe where they were supposed to run some machine and it might cause a black hole? dunno, heard about it from some kids in physics but I guess it didn't cause a black hole considering we are all still here
saw it on cnn. and i was just goin to look it up right now. it'd probably take some time b4 a black hole could be made from it.
yea we all survived! the machine was a Large Hadron Collider. or i think they called it that. anyway, it's this big tube thing where they just slam crap into each other, there's one near my house. so yea, these were just tests. if they hadn't succeeded, a black hole could have formed and swallowed the Earth. i heard about it in school and didn't really care.
Yeah! I was worried that we where going to be eaten by a black hole
Meh...It doesn't really matter. If we all died by black hole, it would be quick and painless, there would be no more war left to worry about. I love my life, but I also look at the fact any one of us could die at any given time. The black hole idea is stupid, because as any EDUCATED person should know, black holes, even small ones, absorb objects up to several hundred miles away.
Today was just a first test fire, the real thing isn't for about a month. And that is when we're all gonna die.
Ha! For real? I have to go through panich all over again!

uh you do know that black holes can move right? and expand? not even light can escape a black hole. so the planet would be sucked into it.
If it works. Man should not play with God's powers. Jurassic Park is actually an example of that. Man tried to play God, and regretted it through the deaths of the innocent ones.
And Fett_II, I did know that. I figured other than what I said was common knowledge, so I didn't mention it. And unless the black hole somehow only sucks up everything in the room with it, its power source may be limited due to the fact that it is machine made, and all who knew to operate would be dead. That however; is only a small hope.
They totally blew this whole thing out of proportion. I think its a really cool idea. And you know what? If they devoured the earth in one black hole that would be the coolest way to go. Then i wouldn't have to pay tuition OR stay in class anylonger.
Hey Iwouldn't have to worry about the sicence test on monday!
Well, October 21, 2008, is the set day for the full run. So we may or may not die that day, I doubt it. One of these things is actually by my house. Although the LHC is bigger. Much bigger.
wow, throughly depressing topic....
well if we all die i just wanna say.......
I HATE YOU JAR JAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't have to worry about how I'm going to get health insurance. I think trying to simulate the BIG BANG would be really , really messy.
Considering the universe got REALLY big, REALLY fast; there's a chance that the world will explode due to all the pressure building up inside of it. I don't quite think a black hole would be a cool way to die. I think on the front lines is better...which is where I'm going to be in 8 years. Back on topic. The big bang was fast, and the universe is still expanding, which will cause for something very messy, like Sharra said. Someone might have to clean up our remains after it, and I doubt humans will still exist by then if it does blow up Earth.
If we do die, I think Jar Jar is a good character. I can blame him on bad things that happen...
it might blow up, but it would be awesome if it worked
Well its done and we're all here.
They were only in preliminary. The didn't send the protons out at the same time. Supposedly that is what makes the difference.
according to a YouTube video, the run will only be a smidge of what occurred during the Big Bang. and the whole black hole possibility is apparently fodder.
