I just sarted reading Star Wars novels again and I'm in a bind.

SO, should I read the The New Jedi Order which is like 19 books or could I skip right to the Legacy of the Force?

Which one is better and can anyone point out some other good reads?

I myself just started NJO, and because a lot of what happens there affects what happens in Legacy ( or so I've been led to believe), I've chosen to read them all in order.  I've heard that there is some boring stuff in NJO, and i figure some books I can skim through faster if they get boring.

I could recommend some other books too ( Star Wars), but with out knowing what you've already read it could be hard.  I know The Force Unleashed novel is out, and I plan to get that. I think it has some good potential. Plus, Order 66 comes out in 24/23 days ( I forget how many :P). I also totally recommend any of the Star Wars work Jude Watson has done. I know that officially they are "juvenile" books, but The Last of the Jedi series in particular is dark, and more mature than i think many give credit for.

I can talk forever on the books. :D

I have started reading the new Jedi order to my eldest son at bedtime. I have not read them before, so it has been interesting for me.

It is up to you really. Which do you think you would prefer to read?

I am about to start reading the Republic commando books (I have only recently started reading the books set during the Clone wars)

I already have Bloodlines which is the second LOF book and I've read part of it already.

I suppose I'll see what my library has and go from there.

I'm just not sure if I can take Chewie dieing, or Ackbar for that matter.

Having only actually reading Vector Prime... i think that was the most emotional I was after reading a book, ever. After that chapter i had to go take a break.

Legacy of the Force was so powerful and moving as the books progressed. By the end you are so emotionally involved with all these characters that the protagonist and antagonist lines start to get blurry, and you just basically brace yourself for what terrible things await everyone.

Brilliant writing on behalf of Karen Traviss as well. Her contributions to the Mando'ade community can never be repayed.
