Im routing for USA.

So, Which country are you routing for during these 2008 Summer Olympic games?

August 8, 2008 5:09 pm #

Instead of just asking what country we're voting for, why not a discussion on the 2008 Olympics in general?

I'm rooting for the USA.

I think they should have moved it because of the massive amounts of air pollution.

take it easy baby take it as it comes

I always go for my nationality, which is USA. They say the Olympics might be in Chicago in 2016, but it's been in America a lot.

Cool, I like the energetic advert 2008 Olympics where there are all those animals flying everywhere doing kung fu moves and stuff like that! :P

You've been holding out on us again haven't you? Since you haven't given us enough money, I'll guess I'll have to take it out of you piece by piece! - Unknown Mandalorian.

I'm not really an expert in navigation, so I won't be routing them anywhere, really. I mean, I guess I could do ok, but I guess my routing would simply be the cheapest plane trip I could find, maybe get some exotic stops along the way to give them the best traveling experience I could.

......or if you mean which team am I rooting for, I dunno. I never paid attention to olympics. I think America's there? If so, go us!

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

well, if routing had a different definition, i'm sure all your posts would make more sense. it's rooting. anywho, yea i'm rooting for the USA. we don't host until 2016, in Chicago as someone else said. did anyone watch the opening ceremony? they had quite a show, that stadium was huge (seated 91,000). i didn't get to see who was the flagbearer for the US, anyone know who it was? quite a way to light a torch eh?

Right now, America's winning. Last I heard, we have 8 medals; 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze.

I don't understand or see the point of the Olympics. Its just another thing to divide people and distract them from real issues. ( I know I sound like a party pooper sorry) Why does it have to be about winning or losing?

that is the point of the Olympics. once chance to escape all the crap that's going around in the world and use that time to compete physically in a series o sports.

I do not watch the Olympics, but I do hope that the UK does well :D

I think we have won a medal but apart from that I have no idea how we are doing, as I have not read much news recently.

I noticed in the paper today that UK have got two gold medals (LOL I have still not watched any of it, I prefer the winter Olympics)

Phelps has won at least one more. So 10 total, all time. The most of anyone, ever. And the little I saw of the Womans Gymnastics Final looked promising.

August 13, 2008 5:18 am #

Americans. They will win... :|

August 13, 2008 11:46 am #

of course we'll win. except China is cheating in gymnastics. so we win in everything else.

August 13, 2008 2:50 pm #

I didn't see gymnastics, but my mom did (she's a gymnastics instructor) She told me what happened, but why do you think China cheated?

And who else thinks that men's synchronized diving is a little.......weird......

well they're using athletes who are 14 years old, but the age limit is 16. and the USA team did really well, at least deserving a 15.5 and above. but, they barely managed to get that. and most of china's athletes got over a 15.5, even those who screwed up quite a bit.

I think your math is a bit wrong, Draco. 2 plus 2 plus 2 is 6, not 8 :P

I am rooting for my home country, the USA.

The last ne's supposed to be 4. :P

Doesanyone know how many medals the US have now?

take it easy baby take it as it comes
August 13, 2008 7:25 pm #

the question is:

How many don't they have? USA has been dominating these Olympics, and it hasn't even been a week.

I'm rooting for Canada but not keeping my hopes up  :P  I really enjoyed watching the American Basketball team beat the Chinese.  It was close until the 2nd half.  The thing about Chinese basketball players is that they are tall, but they can't jump worth beans.

The Chinese government has been paying for the training of their athletes so they can be superior.

But like Devil Girl, I enjoy winter Olympics because my country has a chance of winning a fair amount of medals.  And the next one is coming to my home town in my graduation year.  YAY VANCOUVER 2010!

Phelps got his 6th out of 6, and his 6th world record, last night. Don't know how the gymnastics went.

I was watching some of the swimming the other night and I was amazed. It was the breaststoke, and man it looks nothing like what I do when I  do the breaststroke in the pool. I will finally admit that even the non record breaking athletes, are in better shape than I could ever ever hope to be. Thats what I find amazing.

Ummmm..... I like Australia and hope they do well but no-one is going to beat China! Also I love watching the Japanese Baseball team! The rest is kinda boring! I would rather watch grass grow then sit in front of the tele and watch people compete in sports that no- one would watch at any other time in the last four years! And Mel, its probly best not to tell the Aussie meaning! Though it's damn funny to read!

I am rooting for Gremany and Phelps. I like watching the swimming and the rowing, but anything else is flat boring.

London 2012.

August 20, 2008 1:03 pm #

I do not think I will be able to make it though. London is expensive enough without the Olympics being there. Also to be honest I do not really want to go to London either.
