As I read some stuff I found a person who said "mandalorian bounty hunters and mandalorian mercs have lost there honor. the ones who fight in clans for honor are the ones who are honorable and have not mocked the mandalorians". I do not believe this for many reasons, but i want to know what the rest of you think. I felt this to be an issue seeing that both Boba and Jango Fett were Bounty Hunters, and the mercs who trained the clones took it on them selves to teach the clones of their heritage. So what do you think?

I feel similar to this line of thinking in many ways, people who do the job of fighting wars for their nation or their fellow soldier (the best of reasons) are the real MANDOs, individuals who are truly honorable.  While the mercs, the Blackwater operators who do the same job as US soldiers, but for different motivations are those who are Bounty Hunters and lack true honor.

All that said, I don't take umbrage with soldiers who have done their 20 and gotten out and now are cashing in, but the 25 year olds who are chasing the money, well there are reasons they don't have CONTRACTOR DAY as a national holiday.

Hope this wasn't to far off your target.

Great signature by the way

Thank you Viking, you have made a very good point. You in a way have changed my way of thinking on this subject. I never really thought about other mandos such as the mercs hired by the seps. You hit good points, and i thank you for commenting vode.

I like to think the old Mandalorian Wars era Mando'ade lived by the basic code that we saw the Spartans live by in the movie 300.  Those like Boba and Jango, it can be argued if they hold to that Honor code and just do it alone while making a pile of credits or if they're just in it for the money.

We know Jango tried to live by the old way with his time as Mandalore and leader of the True Mandalorians against the Merc/only-loyal-to-the-highest-bidder Mandos of the Death Squad, so I like to think he kept the old way and taught that to his son

"You set a code to live by. I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted...I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other men, and I require the same from them."

Good point vode, and Boba also lead the mandos in his later years. Or so I have read.

I just have a hard time accepting the notion that most old school fans of Boba have that he's a totally cold and heartless bounty hunter who lives for nothing but his next big pay check.  It's commonly said that he lives by a code; why can't that code be that of a Mandalorian Warrior?

Being a fan of the Mando'ade just as much as I am a fan of Boba, I *unlike many* loved the idea of Jango, the last true leader of the True Mandalorians being his father *didn't love that Boba turned out to be a clone so much, but the idea didn't kill me.*

It's my opinion that Boba saw himself as the last REAL Mandalorian in the galaxy.  Unable to become the Mandalore of a true force of Mandalorian Warriors *until later* he leads the life of a bounty hunter, reaping the Honor of catching the most dangerous or most elusive pray in the galaxy; the credits are just what pays the bills.

Havn't really read much EU about him, so maybe I'm all wrong, but that's how i like to see him

Im the same way. I hate it when I hear someone say that Boba Fett is some haetrless killer in it for the money. If you read the Boba Fett books, you will see that this is not the case. I will say how ever, that as he gets older he does become less of a child who lost his father, and more of a loner. But that is sorta expected when your a Bounty Hunter.
But you know what they say " When you need something done right you gotta ask Fett to do it himself.  ;)

lol, nice. ;)

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

I just do not like the fact that he siad " they lost their  honor " I like to think that Boba, Jango, and MOST of the other mercs still have their honor. Some mandos may have lost their  honor for their morels or other things, But do not believe Boba and Jango have.

I don't think so either; some did, you see it in some of the Mando raiders on Dantooine and Kashyyyk in KOTOR game, where they kill or pressure helpless farmers like petty thieves or gangsters.  But I don't think either of the Fetts were like that, and maintained their Mandalorian spirit and honor.

If you run, I can track you. If you hide, I will find you. If you fight, I will watch you fall......
