We were talking about scary movies today, and SAW came up for just how gruesome it was, but the AMITTIVILLE HORROR was something else.

I think most scary movies aren't all that scary. I think mine is Psycho. The black and white makes it creepier.

AVPR by far. Its not just mindless gore and violence like a lot of horror movies, its the continuation of an interesting story.

AvP-R is more of a Sci-Fi action movie

Monster Dog- Super-cheesy staring Alice Cooper. Sweet.

All of the Alice Cooper concert films.

Any of those old, lame, cheesy, B-horror movies.

take it easy baby take it as it comes

I'd have to say Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom...why you ask? Does that even count? Well, when I first used to watch this movie when I was young, I couldnt even watch when Mola Ram ripped out the heart of the sacraficial victim...awesome.

But more realistic I guess would be Rear Window. That movie makes me cringe.

There's so many. Loved the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series, the "Hellraiser" series, the "PuppetMaster" series. Loved Hitchcock's Psycho, loved The Exorcist, loved The Shining, loved 13 Ghosts, loved The Ring.

Hard to pick just one as favourite. On the other side, the worse I've seen would be "Street Trash". Horrible in the "I don't know what to film" style. And if someone really wants to see pure horror, try Queen's video for "I Want To Break Free" on YouTube. Now that's scary.

Cast iron and treadmills? Oh yes. Still sculpting me to what I really want to be, and I love it. :)

The Hannah Montana 3D movie thing. THAT'S the scariest movie of all time.

"The Shining" that movie scared me for weeks.

The Thing from the 50s or the 1980s version with Kurt Russell?

hehe, Monster Dog... good cheesiness of the 80s.

oh, and if anyone has iO TV with HD channels, check out channel 777. It's called Monsters HD, where they only play new and old horror movies. I'd say my favorite horror movie would have to be... idk i'll have to think.

'The Shining' is my favorite horror, followed by 'House of a Thousand Corpses' by Rob Zombie. I am also a fan of 'Plan 9 from outerspace' and anything with Bela Lagosie (not correct spelling)! But like Draco said Highschool musical gave me nightmares for weeks! Thought Disney made kids movies!

I mostly like horror movies that are not actually scary (LOL I know that is strange but I do not like being scared by films)

I love the old 40’s/50’s/60’s b-movies. They are class :D My favourites ones that I can think of tonight are:

Devil Girl from Mars (LOL there was no way I was not going to get that film)
Bride of the monster
The Wasp woman
The Killer Shrews
The Blob (1958 version)
The Beast with Five Fingers
Plan 9 from outer space
Teenagers from outer space

Well basically any film like the ones listed above :D

Though one of the modern horror films that I like is Shaun of the dead.

Edited to add: I have to confess that I have not seen any Rob Zombie films yet.

Any Slasher movie. Friday the Thirteenth, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, ect.

You saw Killer Klowns!! Awesome. Loved that one, in the Psychedelic style. It's really special.

I hate him.

i don't think there's one horror movie that i ever really found scary. except for Japanese horror movies (Ring and Grudge are just the beginning, they didn't scare me, but they were hella more freaky than the American remakes, i sat through Ring and Ring 2 waiting to be scared), or at least their original films, or the books which they were originally.

July 21, 2008 9:43 pm #

One Missed Call was lame. I wasn't scared through the whole thing.

Well, I thought the Ring was cool actually for a recent one. Also saw the Jap version, got it at home, and yeah, it adds something. The fact that everyone looks nearly alike adds a strange feeling too. I mean, here in an office, you'll have different colors of hairs, clothes, and so on. There, everyone has black hair, everyone is dressed similarly. It's kind of freaky in itself, I thought. Might be just me...

Its not JUST you, but considering you fear offices... :P I don't know why most scary stuff I find funny. I like Hitchcock, but I consider them suspenseful, rather than scary. The Birds though is as creepy as things get for me. Especially when the kids are all singing in the school and the crows are starting to flock to the playground. Scariest movie I've ever seen was definitely Arachnophobia. I HATE spiders. Freaks me out every time. Must watch with the lights on.
