Well do you?
I dont, not at all, its irritating. So in other words stop making pointless threads, all it does is clutter up the boards and make it harder to find what your looking for

They are fun as a small distraction, but I see the appeal of a more streamlined board
If they're thought out yes. If they're just there for the sake of a new thread then no.
It's just noobs trying to get on the Top Fans list.

Im gonna have to second that.

The ones I'm talking about are not thought out, just for another topic.
i would like to think i don't do that.

In that case then no I don't like them.
No i don't like them and this i think is one
It may be, but there are many many more, and this is just a most likely futile attempt to reach the authors of the majority of them and get them to stop
Depends on the quality of the topic. If it's something we can have a heated debate about, then yes. If it's something stupid like "hi" then no.
Depends on who is posting it, and if they do it continuously.
To me it depends on the spirit of the posting. If its just for a spot of fun, then I don't mind. I find that it is possible to ignore things that i don't feel like reading or don't intrest me.
Threads started with the intention of nothing else than to have a thread.... that where its annoying, because its not really about interacting with one anohter, which is why I thought we were all here. That and Fett.
I think I do make them, but not to fill the boards all clustered up or get on the top fan's list either.
I'm just curious to see if the other person/people like them or it's as much as I do.
I don't do them to spam. People like SOS Haruhi do that.
Or worse.
But Mine are okay. :)
no useless threads are indeed a nuisance...and i can think of a few n00bs who've recently been guilty of doing such things. Its up to us to post on the ones that interest us, driving the unpopular ones further down the listings.
in other words...ignore 'em
Well if they are random and made for no reason other then to exist, I do not like them.
And Masterchief, your curios to see if others like what as much as you? random topics? If the topic is random and pointless and you make them, how is it ok? Simply because you make them? That does not make any sense to me.
you created a new account just to say that?
I don't like them. ;) You people who do that, please stop it,and everything is ok.Almost.
Dont pay much attention to em, but it gets irritating when you cant find the thread you want because its to full of spam...
Its just irritating to me when I get on the fans thread and there are like twenty new topics, and some of them could have been made into other less specific topics, for example, instead of favorite fantasy book, favorite book (even though its been done) or favorite video game, or favorite movie. Just make things easier for those who are not here all the time.
Maybe we should clean up the boards by making a Survey Thread and stickying it. It would be a survey asking what our favorites and least favorites are on every possible subject. And then everyone could just go post their responses. And if one subject makes people start having actual discussion then we could make a thread for that subject.
That would be a nice solution to the issue at heart here Milba. Good thinking.
Miba's idea is good. There should also be a Links thread (of course sticky it, and give it big lettering like "Links thread - READ BEFORE POSTING), so people don't go making new topics before they start to.
