I think that the most annoying kids show is Cailou.

              What kids show do you think is the most annoying?

           I cant stand Cailou, and his little theme song.

Does High School Musical (I guess its more a movie) count?

Yup.

       Anything that  kids about 3-10 watch.

As a dad of a 6 year old Padawan and devoted Fettling and a 5 year old girl, I get my fair share of kids television.

By far the worst is an easy one, BARNEY.  He is an easy target, but it is true.

I'm echoing the Caliuo thing.  My sister was glued to that show and I'm pretty sure it taught her some bad habits, whine until you eventually get what you want.

ah thank God i grew up before that Cailou crap came around. i'd have to say Teletubbies. and the later Power Rangers, first few were the best.

I remember when kids shows had Spiderman and Superman, and the Hulk. Even the Power Rangers. People who could do stuff. Shoot out webs, fight crime, fly. What can Bob the Builder do? Build stuff? Wow.

Well that Spider-man from 1994 was the beginning.  There were many censors put up for it.  People couldn't say death, or dead, Spider-man was not allowed to punch people and guns could not be portrayed as realistic.

Ok... wtf is cailou... i followed the image link and was nearly traumatized. I had to click it away before i went into an epileptic state. I would say bob the builder (bad memories... but not from watching the show.) Dora (DIEEEE!!!). In Halo I sometimes say "sniper no sniping". I try not to. I can't think of another one right now.

There are so many bad kids shows out now. SO MANY. I don't think theres enough space for me to rant about them now. I HATE Barney, anything thats played on Diney channel (not toon disney though, they play some of my old school favorites), I do happen to like old Blue's Clues (the Steve days) and other cartoons.

The weird thing is that most of us enjoyed these stupid shows long ago.

blasphemy! everything after power rangers in space became crap (with the exception of parts of lost galaxy).

I love Power Rangers, the Mighty Morphin, and I liked Lost Galaxy cause they had the Magna Defender and all the angst with Red Ranger's brother. The newer ones are probably garbage I haven't seen them. I didn't like Turbo, or Plant, or whatever the one is where the Red Ranger was a firefighter and the pink one is the boss's daughter and green ranger was a stunt pilot. And there was one where they lived on a spaceship but worked on earth or something and that one was decent I guess.

Caillou (you're all spelling it wrong).  I thought I would enjoy every Christmas special on the planet but no... no this proved me wrong.

And as for Dora... yeah she's pretty bad.  It's so patronizing I can't see it aimed at any self-respecting children of any age... however hands down, the worst child's show to me is *drum roll*

....anything involving Elmo.  Sesame Street has pretty much gone to hell because of Elmo.  Sesame Street, for the very longest time, prided itself on teaching children things, from colors and pattern recognition all the way up to social issues and troubles that may face children.

Now, however, in recent episodes, more then 70% of the entire show is face time for what's apparently a retarded Muppet, it can't talk right, it's a spoiled brat, it never shuts up, and nobody ever even makes a cursory effort to discipline it!

Why is THIS overtaking Sesame Street?  I know for a fact I'm not just getting old man grumpies as well.. the show has gotten downright moronic.

Oy, Elmo. I gotta agree with you there, I'm glad I watched the show -before- he dominated it. And the only reason he became popular in the first place was because of those Tickle-me-Elmo dolls they release practically every other year for $50. But why have one character dominate the show? One important thing the show did was show us all sorts of different characters, human or otherwise. Their personalities mixed and matched and they were used as needed. But now it just seems like everyone just interacts with Elmo.

I didn't know he glorified bad behavior though. That might really explain why everytime I go to the mall all the kids are acting so horribly, and with the parents not making any effort to do something about it.

I've never heard of this "Caillou" and really, I don't think I want to know more. Also that's a really stupid name, everytime I hear it I think of caribou.

I must admit, I've never actually sat down and watched Dora, but the few clips I've seen (waiting rooms where its not escapible) are really awful. I wasn't a genius kid or anything, but when I was little, I hated it whenever people talked down to me just because I was a kid. I don't think adults give kids nearly enough credit and that brings me to....

Barney. I have to name this because he personally offends me. Y'see, I was starting Kindergarden when this show started. And I hated it from day one. 12 year old "big kids" learning about shapes and colors? That didn't make any sense! Not to mention it was done in a dull and uncreative fashion. It generally isn't a good thing when the target audience thinks a show is dumb and hates it. How it's lasted so long is beyond me.

Everyday in Kindergarden before class, we had to watch Barney. It wasn't optional, like "Well kids you can play on the playground OR watch this," or "Well the weathers bad so you can't go out today. Sit and watch this." No, we had to sit around in front of the TV and watch Barney and I hated every second of it. Thankfully, however, the bus I would take was one of the later ones to arrive before class. Because it would be turned on as soon as the first bus (or maybe the first two buses?) arrived, I would only have to see about half of it instead of the whole thing, unlike the suckers who arrived before me.

It still was really lame though.
