I love Harry Potter and went to opening midnight releases for a few things...

Anyway, I hate when my house is dirty and I feel lazy about cleaning.

I also hate people who don't use turn signals, and I hate people who honk at me for being a nice driver, and I hate tailgaters, and I hate judges/politicians who release criminals/child abusers.  I think that after you abuse a kid you should lose all your rights as a human being and should just be shot.  That is one of the things in the world that makes me the angriest.

I hate it when people drive the speed limit on roads where everybody else is going 10 mph over.
I hate it even more when they actually follow the advised speeds for turns and it takes twice as long.

I hate when people can't speak English. Oh, it's all well and good when they speak another language fluently; I'm not so obsessed with my language that I think the entire world should speak it. No, what I can't stand is when people make egregious (egregious? does that fit here?) errors with complete abandon. We've all taken grammar for every year we've been in school, so there's no excuse. Is it so hard to master these simple concepts:

-Putting the first-person pronoun last ("you and I" as opposed to "I and you")

-Using I in the nominitive case and me in the objective case ("you and I went to the fair" as opposed to "you and me went to the fair")

-Using 'to have' and 'to get' correctly ("What we got for lunch?" is NOT RIGHT)

-Using 'Who" in the nominative case and 'Whom' in the objective ("For whom does this bell toll?" versus "Who ate my Cheetos?")

-'Good' is an adjective, 'Well' is an adverb (and a noun too, but disregard that). Adverbs do not describe nouns. ("I did well" as opposed to "I did good". Similarly, "The day was good" as opposed to "The day was well")

And that's just the vocal bit. In writing it just gets worse. Let's review:

-Their, There and They're are 3 different words. ("They're going to find their books, which are over there")

-Similarly, To, Too, and Two are 3 different words as well ("The two boys went to the store too")

-Your and You're, same deal ("You're going to throw out your Lemon Demon CD's?")

-Semicolons. I for one love semicolons, but people don't know how to use them!  They separate clauses that are related, but not grammatically joined. Thus, if the second clause starts with a conjunction like 'and' or 'but', it should be a comma and not a semicolon. (Correct usage: "Oh, it's all well and good when they speak another language fluently; I'm not so obsessed with my language that I think the entire world should speak it.")

There are more, I know it. However, these are the major offenders that, through ignorance of the language, have been allowed to run rampant through the streets while correct grammar cowers in its home, peering out the windows with a loaded shotgun on its knee.

You know that the absolute worst is? I speak it correctly, and other people, thinking they're so smart, try to correct me. And do it WRONG. And NEVER ADMIT IT. THAT is an unforgiveable crime.

I hate people who take something off the shelf and then decide they don't want to buy it so they put it back in the wrong spot or in the wrong way. Like I'll find something upside down. Have these people no eyes? Can't they tell when something's upside down? Or I'll find a blue item stuck in with red items. Are they also color blind? Can't they tell that red goes with red and blue with blue?

I also hate when someone's wandering by and see a cart with empty boxes in it and think, "garbage bin" and throw anything from half-eaten cookies to hand wipes to old store adds to any other kind of garbage into my cart. My cart is for empty boxes, not your trash, if you have garbage throw it away in any of the many, many garbage cans sitting around.

Also, what makes you think you can walk off with my box-cart??? The cart return is, like, maybe twenty feet away, which is a fairly short distance considering I'm one of the only departments right next to the cart return. You have no need to steal my cart when there's tons of carts in the cart return a short distance away. Now, you think, "But... but... since you're so close to the cart return you can go get another cart after I take yours." Yes, but that costs me time, makes me frustrated, and sometimes it's hard to get a good cart. They're only shopping for a half hour or so, I'm here all day, let me keep my cart. I mean, if my cart's empty and I'm not around, I can see the misunderstanding, however if I already have a handful of boxes or my scangun in the cart, maybe, perhaps, I'm coming back for it? Maybe I have it there for a reason or purpose? I did not just dump a box or two into the cart for no reason, so leave my cart alone and go get your own cart.

I also hate not getting enough sleep.

Don't sweat it; any rewards you get at school are 10 times less gratifying than the rewards you will get in your professional life as an adult. Leave scholar pride to the snobby brats who want to please their parents ;)

Indeed. I have seen many people, especially around this site, who spell as if they had not passed the third grade. And I treat them as such. Even if they don't know correct grammar, they can at least run it through Microsoft Word, I don't even do that, and my posts come out fine. Okay, new grammar post. Additional irritations that get to me:

-Whose and who's. Who's is a contraction, combining 'who' and 'is' (as in, "Who's responsible for this catastophe?) Whose, on the other hand, is possessive ("Whose bright idea was it to reformat the hard drive?")

-Its and it's. Okay, I suppose I could see how this could be confusing, but come one people, I figured this one out in 3rd grade, literally. Here's a little song to help you to remember: "Ohhh if it's supposed to be possesive then it's just i-t-s, but if it's supposed to be a contraction then it's i-t-apostrophe-s! Scalawag!" ("It's too bad that its mother is now devoid of its limbs.")

And you know what? English teachers are phonies. ("Big fat phonies!") My little cousin has a note from her english teacher on the fridge reading "Your doing great!".

Woman, I feel myself superior to you, and I'm still a pimple-faced lanky teenager! Huzzzah!

I should go be an English teacher. Like, right now.

I get annoyed by people who ask me to teach them a foreign language (French, Swedish, you name it) over the internet. Most of the time I accept to help them because they're already learning on their own, or have French classes in school. So we exchange e-mails for a starts, trying to find interesting but not too complicated subjects to talk about in either French or Swedish. This girl I know who lives in California is doing her best to try being enthusiastic about it all, we even tried to use Skype to converse in those languages, which turned out being me talking all the time :P But it was funny anyway.

Eventually the e-mail thing turned out being pretty tedious because whatever corrections and explanations I provided her, she wasn't making any real progress, doing the same mistakes over and over.... I guess you can blame a lot of things for that: the high school educational system that is just crappy about languages, the teachers, the fact that my friend doesn't have much access to any media in French, lack of practice, etc. But it really felt like she was resting all her hopes on me to make her get better in the language. Maybe I'm a bad teacher? :( Or she possibly gets so stressed out each time she's writing to me that she spontaneously forgets about her lessons... who knows. She often told me about a possible trip to Europe, eventually that revealed itself to cost her a LOT of money so she just gave up on the idea.

If I had to suggest anybody who wanted to learn a new language: don't do it unless you know a native person who can teach you in real life, and who has experience in teaching (like, a teacher :P), also make sure you have a large variety of foreign media at your reach (DVDs, music, TV channels...). Learning a foreign language means that you're gonna have to keep an open mind... And temporarily forget about your native speech and mentality, even if that means isolating yourself from your family and friends once in a while :P But it's necessary if you wanna drop that heavy American accent!!!

Also: don't ever tell a European person about how cool Europe is, and how the US sucks compared to it. That kind of makes me mad for unconscious reasons :o Last time I spoke to my french-learning friend there, I couldn't help but tell her how France and Sweden were in reality, the downsides and all, not wanting to crush her dreams but more like telling her that she should enjoy what she has at her reach.

Yeah so long story short: I hate people making assumptions about foreign cultures and thinking they're smarter because they're interested in them, rejecting their own culture as if being American was a curse. Hell, I'm French and as much as I hate this country sometimes, you don't see me bitching about at the least occasion :P

I hate when I'm pushing my wheeler towards the  backroom and some one tries to cut in front of me and I don't let them and continue on walking and they glare at me and go, "EXCUSE ME!" Like I did some makor crime. Then, if I'm walking along in non-work-uniform and someone tries to cut in front of me and I don't let them the shrug it off, maybe make some joke about it. As if wearing my work uniform makes me into some lesser being.

And, yes, most my "I hates" are about work cause that's where I'm usually at when I'm not home. I love my work, I just don't like the customers. I do have some "I hates" about other things too.

Like when I'm at the corner of my road trying to turn left and it's busy, and cars are piling up from the stop sign back towards my corner. So one car decides to be nice and let me out and stops just before the corner to let me make my left-turn. But, since the cars are piling up I can't see if anyone's coming from the other direction, so I depend on the person stopping before the corner to only stop to let me out if there's no one coming. But, nope, they stop whether there's someone coming or not. So I have to guess and just go at random and hope. I'm glad I haven't hit anyone yet. Closest I've come to hitting someone because of being blinded was a squad car, which was just my luck, but he apparantly didn't mind cause he went on by. But still, why stop to let me out if I can't get out?

And I hate people who drive 5-10 miles below the speed limit for no apparant reason. And people who slow waaaay down two blocks before they make a turn.

Yeah, I don't get it either when I'm just barely speeding and all these people are passing me. But it'd be my luck if I tried it I'd be the only one stopped. -_-

The other day it was great, you know how you can park along a sidewalk in some places? Well, by the phone company there was a big sign saying, "Police Order: Temporarily no parking at any time!!!" ...there were three cars parked there. o_0

Ooohhhh, I know how that feels!!! I went shopping for shoes once and that happened. Except,  family member told me to get THIS shoe and I wanted THAT shoe. The worst part about the situation was 1) I hate shopping and we had been shopping for 45 minutes so I was brain-dead 2) When I tried to put in my two cents, she was like, "Oh, but the other shoes are poor quality--these will last you a LONG time!"

Yeah, stuff like that mostly happens with family members.
