thats cool dont worry bout it
One of the most famous "pionneer" sci-fi books in history, and I haven't read it, don't think I ever will :P
You can add to that "War of the Worlds", "Marsian Chronicles", and all the stuff from Jules Vernes you hear about when you take the Space Mountain tour @ Disneyland :D
I believe there's a movie for it anyway, in the end you might have to watch that.

The movie's also impossible to understand (or at least to sit through, in my case.)

I've heard of this movie. but never actually seen it. I've heard that it's kinda funny, but it's not a comedy. Am I right? :/

...If I recall correctly, the spaceship's computer started killing everybody off. It went berserk for some reason (maybe that reason was similar to VICKI's in I, Robot? Realizing that it is impossible to protect humans from themselves? Fuzzy on that part). Anyway, they (or maybe it was just one guy left?) killed HAL, the computer, by unplugging it (novel idea), and it went even crazier and started singing "A bicycle built for two". That's all I got. That's from the movie...I do plan on reading the book someday!
