I think that George Lucas should consider creating a third Star Wars trilogy.
In my opinion it should be about the further adventures of Luke,Leia,Han,Chewbacca,
C3P0,and R2D2.
I believe that many fans would be happy if there was a
Star Wars episode VII,VIII,and IX.

Sorted by oldest to newestWell, I'd certainly be thrilled if there was a third trilogy, but I do not like the protagonists you chose.
I do not really know, it would tire me. What i really like in the first trilogy was the scenario. I do not think they could make an action-filled SW movie (for this is what they would aim for) with those 6 characters..
If they ever make another trilogy, I hope it takes place during the Clone Wars or in the Old Republic..
William Shakespeare
Or the Mandalorian Wars :D

THAT would be great. Something furthering the Mando influence in SW. And I doubt it'd be one with the original characters, since they're all older...

Well there was the statement that IV, V and VI were the MIDDLE trilogy. Lucas apparently had some sort of idea going. Now what that was is beyond me as I've never read anything saying what the last three were intended to be. Could that have been the Thrawn triolgy by Zahn? This actually has been floating in my mind for years. Have I missed something?
*A Mando series would be fantastic.
"Suggestion: Electrocution works well. Evisceration and Decapitation are also effective, or um, so I've heard."
it's too bad George Lucas decided not to do VII, VIII, and IX. or X, XI, and XII for that matter.
I just wonder what those story lines really were. Were they covered in the EU?
"Suggestion: Electrocution works well. Evisceration and Decapitation are also effective, or um, so I've heard."
No. Nothing was mentioned.
And yes, how could I even forget the Mandalorians?!?!!
I am trully waiting forward to seeing a film about them. I'd die if I saw Mandalore on tv...
William Shakespeare
The next 40 years after Return of the Jedi are already heavily chronicled in the EU. For example, the Legacy of the Force series, and other books. The EU tells what happens to Luke, Leia, Han, etc. Chewie dies, Han and Leia marry, their son becomes the next Sith lord, Palpatine comes back and dies again, Luke marries, his wife dies, so on and so forth. But, yes I would kill to see a movie about the Mandalorian Wars, and the ancient Sith Wars, wow. Millions of Jedi versus millions of elite, armored, jetpack wearing Mando warriors. I am so excited right now! That would be so 1337!!!
You mean Leet, or the Hunnerd Years War, bub?
Either way, it would kick #%#!
Hey, we must do something about it...

YES!

Not so sure; we all know how Lucus and team botchs Mandos. And do we really want him and types like Traviss to set in stone what the Mandos are and what they stand for? I'd rather leave it up to us. Even though Traviss IS forcing us to see the Mandos a cirtain way for now, the past is still ours to wonder and speculate about.
About Ep. VII-IX, I did hear that there were nine Episodes in his original writing of the script
And I doubt it'd be one with the original characters, since they're all older...
Very true. He SHOULD have shot the next 3 Episodes on the proper timeline they were supposed to have appeared. Like, there's a 20 year gap between Ep. III and IV, so maybe there was a 5 10 year gap between Ep. VI and VII.
Maybe he did want to but couldn't get all the original cast back. Dunno, but would have been great if he did; with Boba tracking down Solo and a Flashback of him getting out of the Sarlacc ;)
That would be so funky if he would make another trilogy :D
I remember Devil Boy telling me that he had heard George Lucas say a few years ago that he had intended it to be a nine film series.
I really hope that it happens.

I wouldn't mind a pre-prequel trilogy. Preferably more of the Older Republic as there is an entire bit where this Sith just go silent. He needs to put some more stuff in there.
And the only thing I've ever heard about VII, VIII, IX were from Supershadow.
I couldn't agree more.
More Sith and more Mandalorians!
William Shakespeare
right... that's what I've heard and read as well, that there was scripting for 9 films total. So what happened to the other 3 that were never made? Were they after Return of the Jedi, becoming what we know as the EU for that time period? I've read most of these books and for some reason i don't feel like they are. So what became of that vision? Perhaps it was what is covered in the NJO series. I'm curious and confused all at once on that.
I like Sev's idea of the pre-prequel trilogy. I love the old republic.

WOW! Another trilogy?? That would be AWSOME!!! But he's already got them in order, 1-2-3-4-5-6, so wouldn't he almost HAVE to shoot 7-8-9 next? Wish he could do that, but like somebody above said; actors are too old now :(

Not necessarily.
It depends on how long after episode 6 the next film is set.
I think Harrison Ford looks great in the new Indiana Jones film so it is possible. It just needs to be done soon.

Wow, that would be COOL if they did it! I'd go to see it! :D
How did you get the box around what I said before?
it's called a reply. you'll see it on other people's posts in the bottom right-hand corner (labeled as Quote).

You could be right. Maybe they'd incorperate the EU material for the gap, and then make something new.
However, we know it's not below Lucus to just trash the EU HE AUTHORIZED for his new movies. Who knows. The actors age still makes a differense though. Not to many people will sell see Carry Fisher as the 'Princess Fair' anymore. Unless the new trilogy was based around newer, younger characters, I think it would flop

Well, lets hope the next films will be like -309 -308 -307...
Hell, i think it would be a huge mistake to put the next trilogy after episode 6..
Old Republic ftw!

I think a Star Wars trilogy set after episode would work. It depends on how it is done.
It is understandable that George Lucas wants to have a new storyline.
I think that it would work better then with the flow of the EU then if the next trilogy was set after the latest legacy series. (It would also work well with the actors as well)

I think that it would be amazing if another SW trilogy came out.
as long as george let other people direct it...
but not Dave Filoni, more people like Irwin Kershner (director of ESB) and Richard Marquand (RotJ)
I heard about an episode VII being about Han Solo and Leia visit Mandalore.

if you've read SuperShadow, then that's not the real stuff. he just did it for attention, George Lucas even said he had no affiliation with the site.
This is going a little too far for my own tastes. The Star Wars movie trilogy alone already had produced SIX movies........do we REALLY need 3 more? The answer is no. This is the reason why Star Wars has a line of novels, T.V. shows, comics, ect. These are the extensions, prequels, and the cracks in between every Star Wars movie. So ME personally, I believe that Star Wars should continue creating reading materials and what have you, instead of creating an entirely new trilogy.
Plus, I've already heard poeple complaining about how many Star Wars movies there are..............and it is because of this reason that they fail to see them all.
I believe that my idea will be a more appropriate one once I create a thread about it.
but props on the idea.
P.S: I do believe this thread is in the wrong section. If a moderator could just move it to a more appropriate position..........

Didn't the women who played leai say she never wanted to do anything star wars related ever again? But good idea though :D
P.S. I put so many smiles on my posts because I rarley produce them. :|

the movies alwats came as something of a surprise.esp the first three.but due to the EU we know what will happen now.so he would have to go beyond the timelenes now revealed .but he says he wont.a new mandalore movie would be great.
Well, George has stepped on the EU before *Cough Boba was once Jaster Mereel Cough*, so don't count on him taking the EU word for word if he were to make another 3 episodes. However, I think he's said he won't make another trilogy, and I seriously doubt he'd change his mind on that when he can sit on the money making cow he re-created in the Clone Wars *despite the fact a lot of that material sucked.* I suppose he Could get tired of ppl like me saying that the new episodes sucked and take it as a challenge to make 3 more that don't, but again, I doubt it.
The only chance I see for a new trilogy would be if he handed over the reins to some new director *please God, oh please..* or after he's dead.
I think six movies+The Clone Wars series is enough. No need for third trilogy.
I would love to see 7 8 and 9. I would love to see them make a movie after The heir to the empire. Grand Admiral Thrawn would be a cool movie.
well harrison ford stated he wouldn't play han solo again, he thinks the role has done enough. i agree with him, i don't want to see an old han solo on screen (nothing indiana jones related).
I believe that Return of the Jedi was the perfect end for the film saga and any films set after would detract. The story was perfectly finished in a brilliant way and Return of the Jedi shoulkd remain the last Star Wars Episode in terms of Star Wars internal timeline.
And I don't think that any film, Star Wars or not is ever going to reach the epic, climactic sense of Return of the Jedi.
I am however fully welcoming of films set before the Phantom Menace, or spin off's during Clone Wars or Episode IV-VI.
I would very much like to see the old Clone Wars miniseries made into a full film, Maybe get Pixar to make it the same way as the old series. If you watch the 2 DVD volumes togther you actually get quite a strong cinematic experience with some great character, drama and story that perfectly shows us what the Clone Wars were like.
I think the 2008 Clone Wars film didn't really give that much of a sense of what the war was. The story and character drama was too small and there was very little epic sense to it. The old series had ENOURMOUS battles that would look brilliantly in Pixar animation.
The way I see it, the two old Clone Wars series's were the big stories of the war wheras 2008 film and subsequent TV sow were hyst the little stories that went on in the background.
So that's my take. Return of the Jedi was the perfect ending to six film saga, but I would be perfectly welcoming to any spin-off or film set before Return.
I personally think it would be great if they would use some of the story line from books to make the next 3 movies. The Legacy books, maybe? Honestly, I wouldn't care which ones they used, as long as it was new Star Wars movies. (I think the Yuuzong Vong would be last on my list, though, even if it would be great action.) I want to see more Boba!
I would agree that the return ROTJ was an excellent end and that it would be hard to top, however you have an entire galaxy to work with. Surely there is SOMETHING out there to use to bring back that sense of awe felt upon first realizing the size of the imperial fleet at endor.
As for spin offs... There WERE the two Ewok movies and although lame they did have that star wars feel.
I think that Dave Wolverton did well in coming up with a planet of force users that were isolated from the rest of the galaxy and I like the way the new fate of the jedi series has built on that idea.
I think if there was a new trilogy it would have to be based on that premise, and I wouldnt mind a bit seeing the older characters handing the reins over to the next generation. I think that new weapons would be a spectacular bonus. Shotos, Some sort of light-axe, maybe a light whip.
The posibilities are endless

Still would be good to see I miss standing out side in costume waiting to see the latest Star Wars movie. Playing hookie ( Wookie Hookie) the next before to camp out and all day after because you are so tired.
What do we want is a legit remake of the Trilogy and Lucas films might have an add on to this. It requires a new and promoted graphics.
