Topic: Eragon !!

Has anyone on this Board read the book ???
I found out that the movie will be coming out about Xmas time
so I looked it up on Google to see if there was any Trainlers on the film
it started  Black screen with Blue Smoke and started to Loaded,,as bats hasn't
got Broard brand it seemed to take ages,,,I think I start to doze off..then
this Loud Roar and music came out of the Computer !!! bats jumped out of the chair ''got one hell of a fright''
but it did show photos of the Actors,,and they do look the parts that are in the book.

I have the book Eragon.......but that was the time I got my Boba Fett Bounty Hunter Wars books........so I forgot all about it. :/

Shouldn't this be on fans?

My brother and sister have read it, but I haven't gotten to it yet.  I opened it up one day and I'm certain that there was a single two-page spread where two or three characters had the same names as characters in MY book, and I got so depressed that I vowed never to open it again.  But my sister swears that I was hallucinating.  So if she can make me feel safe that my character names are semi-unique, then I'll probably read it.  At this point I'm planning to see the movie.

I've TRIED to get it at the library, but it's always checked out. Always.

After  I sent the  Eragon I did think !!!!,prehaps not on Fans ,,but I thought to let you
know that Bats does get a fright at times LOL!!
It's about a Dragon's Egg that  was tried to be captured and this Boy finds it;but the trick
was that it only Hatched when the right Rider came near it,,,,and BOY!! was the Elf-Girl ...P**&^% off
that it wasn't her;
Anyway look it up and the boy was 15 when he wrote it.

Yeah......well I've seen some pretty good writers here on the boards. They should pursue a career in writng. Get creative a write a story.

It would be kool if there was a really good RPG that we could get together and put into a book. Ya never know...miracles do happen...he he he. jk

Well there are some cool stories on the boards.........now if we can just get somebody to go out and publish them. ;)

Okay, so I was overcome with curiosity and decided to read the list of characters in the back of Eragon, just to see if it was really as bad as I remembered.  It turns out there was only one name that also belongs to a character in my book (Murtagh) and I never call him by his last name anyway, so it's not a big deal.  Just goes to show you why you shouldn't choose character names by reading the phone book.  ;)

Please read that book if you have interest in dragons

A friend FINALLY loaned it to me, and I LOVE it! The first few chapters I wasn't really thrilled by the writing style, but as I got to the middle of the book, I was completely ENTHRALLED!! I've got about 200 pages left. (YES! A loooong book!)

Crucify? I think what I did pales in comparison to crucifying. And I dont THINK you did something, I KNOW you did something. You posted on a 3 year old thread with nothing more than 3 words. Its somewhat pointless.

Well, despite the lack of info in his post, he did bring the thread back for anybody else who cares to comment on the subject, and he DID give his oppinion.  I don't see what the big deal is honestly.  Would you rather he created a whole new thread to say the movie sucked?  Just my 2 cents..

And on topic, I didn't think the movie was all that bad, but I didn't read the book so I can't compare the two *the book is 97.8% of the time better, no matter what it is, so I purposly go out of my way to see the movie first.  Makes it all good for me*

I would rather he not bother bringing up an old thread about a movie thats been forgotten for three years. Three year old thread and all the post was was 3 words. Its pointless, he didnt explain himself it was just like someone running into a room full of people and shouting "Eragon sucked." and running out. Come on man, its just a waste.

The urgals are supposed to to look like trolls, all I see in the movie are a bunch of fat middle-aged guys who are dressed like there going to a Minnesota Vikings game
it does not follow the actuall storyline very well, just action scene after action scene and you feel haunting reminders of all the other fantasy movies you have ever seen. that's why the movie sucked!

Agreed.  Angela nor the twins played a part in the battle.  In fact the twins didn't even exist in the movie which was total bull as they are essential for the rest of the story.  The fight scene between Eragon and Durza was also crap.  Flying shadow dragon thing?  Stupid.  If Christopher Paolini ever put his stamp of approval on that movie my respect for him has totally flown out the window to sell out like that.
