Burnout finally caught something on the scanners.  A strangely familiar room was smoking, and the door had been blasted off of its hinges.  In a flash, Burnout raced through the halls and came upon the damaged room.  WHen confronted with the immense amout of smoke, he began to spin in place, arms extended, acting as a living fan, and whipping the smoke away.  With the obstructions clear, he was afforded a clear view of the room.  And then he remembered why it looked so familiar.  It was Nick Tracyn's room.

Nick stood in the middle of the room, wearing a bulky suit of armour, with the gauntlets smoking and a glow fading from the front.

((The armour looks like this:

"Um.  What's all this?" Burnout asked, curious.

Nick looked sheepish.  "I was testing out my new suit.  The right gauntlet malfunctioned, and overheated, adn blasted the door.  Sorry.  I'll pay for the damages."

Burnout laughed.  That whole explosion, and the subsequent worrying of imminent invasion was nothing more than Nick testing his new identity.

"So.  What're you gonna call yourself with that suit?  Darklight Mark Two?"

"No.  Darklight died when my powers were drained.  My name now, is Dusk."

Burnout nodded, and grinned, as Darklight, er, Dusk went through his armaments.

"My left gauntlet has an EMP, and the right one has a couple magnesium canisters hidden inside, kinda like flash-bangs.  Both gauntlets blast a repulsor beam, like my old energy blasts.  The centre piece of my chestplate emits a slight force field, acting, again, like my old energy field.  The boots have repulsors, which give me my old flight back."

"And this is all metal?  Isn't it heavy?"

"Oh, this isn't made of metal.  It's a special type of plastic, although hard and dense enough to take a medium calibre bullet without much damage.  The field also helps to repel, deflect, or take the brunt of, bullets."

Burnout nodded, impressed.  "Shall we go and introduce you to the gang, then?"

i know its late but im new to this website :)

Name: Griffin
Affiliation: Hero
Gender: Male
Powers: The result of three decades of experiments trying to create the perfect soldier has created a machine like man. He has superhuman strength (and a brain) He uses modern weapons as he as trained with these for the last three decades. He uses a 5.62MM M4a1 which fires HE rounds in a Psi shell which is powerful enough to penetrate most armour or energy shields.
Appearance: Wears a experimental armour suit which is light weight and emmits an electro magnetic force field, which in effect turns incoming projectiles away. he has a titanium alloy armour to protect in hand to hand combat and two bracers which have a titanium/adamantium alloy blades concealed in.

Griffin was meant to be a legendary soldier, a leader among men....invincible.

yet he stood at the edge of the city, smoke raising from the city from different parts.

He had heard that the statue of liberty had been Destroyed by insurgents

a sign that maybe America's freedom was about to go.

He had to find out what was going on.
Griffin was escorted by soldiers from delta force and a high ranking army officer was telling him that unknown 'super' terroists had, some while ago, apparently laid siege on this city.

Griffin boarded the UH 60 black hawk.
"here, this is the M4 you requested, modified with state of the art telescopic sights and a special type of ammunition. might be handy" The officer told griffin as he handed over the M4

"Thanks" Griffin replied

The Black hawk was making an approach to new york city

"Dam these freak thunderstorms, come from no where they do!" The pilot said

Griffin smiled and relaxed, it was time to explore the city, he tossed a rope out of the side door of the bird and rappeled down. lets see what he could find.

I am the Hammer. I am the sword in His hand, I am the point of His spear. I am the Gauntlet about His fist. I am the Bane of His foes and the woes of the treacherous. I am the End.

Jack took another corner hard.  "Well we were planning to go to Andromeda to turn you in..."

A bolt of lightning struck the car.  Jericho looked outside and saw the chipped paint.

"All right.  Get me out of here.  Just don't let them kill my car."

"Can do."

Jack locked the wheels and skidded sideways into a tight 180.  He then headed for the Beetle.

"Well let's play some chicken."  Jack brought the Charger straight toward them.

"What are you doing?!  TURN IT AROUND!"

Flame looked away, he didn't know what he was going to do. The 'normal' people Andromeda served feared him, they had always. By some he was hunted. He wanted to join them. They trusted him. They were his friends. But the people they defended, people they served, had been the bane of his existence for to long. He could not easily help them. "I...I don't know." Flame said finally. He continued to stare off into the distance, thinking.

Shift ran after Burnout. He wasn't near as fast but he knew where he was going. And he could run through walls. He stopped at Nick's cell. He saw the cause of the boom. Chink came around the corner and almost ran into him. "Sorry." she said, embarrassedly. Burnout looked over. "Found our problem." he said.

“What happened here then?”  The blonde asked.

Lightshow kicked the now unconscious, smoking body with his right foot.

"Scumsucker must be some kind of merc. He and his friends were driving in a beat up old van. They thought they could sneak up on me..."

"Where's the van? What happpened to his friends?" M'Lure asked angrily.

Lightshow shrugged, "I dunno...took off when I fried 'im I guess..." He said, indicating to the body, which seemed to be healing and regaining consciousness quite rapidly. "Got anything to neutralize his healing power, Boss Lady? His comebacks are really getting on my nerves. I don't wanna have to kill him..."

((Yeah, I dunno what's up with that.))

"Gentlemen, Ladies, I would like you to meet our new friend, and prospective member, Dusk."  Burnout stepped back so that they could get an adequate view of the subject, garbed in his armour.  Nick appeared to be uncomfortable with the, but he bore it stoically.  Burnout turned back to the group, with a grin.

"That was one boom I am very proud to have heard, dontcha think?"

February 27, 2008 7:53 pm #

Chromium strode up behind Burnout and Shift and looked into the room. He had already left Vandal in the Infirmary and came when he heard the "boom".

After hearing Burnout's introduction of Dusk, He reached into his incredibly black and pulled out a small comm link seemingly from nowhere. He put it up to his mouth.

"Call of the red alert, false alarm." He said, the familiar metallic tang in his voice making Burnout and Shift turn their heads since he nearly snuck up on them

"Yes sir." The security attendant said back. Chromium slid the commlink back into the depths on the cloak and took out his pipe with the same motion and stuck it in his mouth. Chromium was known to pull the most random objects from within his cloak.

"So, Dusk, how did you manage to get around the fracture tendencies of the plastic? And what power source are you using? It looks to be possibly nuclear but I could be wrong." Chromium asked. He was always excited about new additions to Andromeda that used super-suits. In his time before working on the sunstance that eventually turned him into Chromium, Dr. Tanis Jones worked on a variation of super-suits to be used in special forces teams.

Nick grinned secretively.  "Well, the plastic is treated and made in a certain way that gives it properties like metal, such as being more dense and durable.  So the density, and molecular composition of this plastic alloy, for lack of a better term, it is a lot harder to fracture."  And the power source is a secret."  Nick's eyes twinkled conspiratorially with that.

Chromium looked crestfallen, so Nick took pity on him and whispered his secret.

"The suit is powered by photoreceptors, which take in ambient light, and use it to supercharge the energy supply.  For nighttime, and cloudy excursions, I can modify it to harness willpower for power.  You wouldn't believe how difficult it was for me to get the helmet's sensors to attune themselves to my mind's wavelength, and then being able to control it through a neural interface."  He then stepped back to see chromium's reaction.

February 27, 2008 8:13 pm #

Chromium laughed to himself. The last light powered suit he'd seen was a solar powered one that seemed quite bulky back then, Nick managed to pull off one that used any kind of light, not only solar.

"Neural interfaces are the biggest hassle, especially when attuned to one specific person. Yet they are definitely a necessity." He said as he lit the pipe.

"Care to take it on it's maiden voyage?" Chromium asked, eager to see how the flight would be using boot repulsors.

Dusk grinned.  "Thought you'd never ask."

Burnout smiled at Nick.  "Betcha your little firework boots can't beat me in a race."

Dusk shrugged.  "We'll see."

With that they were off, spurred on by friendly competition.  Burnout zipping along on foot, and Dusk flying just overhead.  The slightest shift in the angle of his feet caused a change in direction with the repulsors, but as he had been practicing in his downtime before the malfunction, he was slightly adept at it.  Dusk was determined to show that he could pull his own weight in Andromeda

Haze was a little disappointed by Flame’s lack of enthusiasm to join Andromeda, but then he hadn’t said no. They walked along for a while longer until they finished their coffee. “I should get back,” Haze commented although she didn’t feel that much enthusiasm herself.

Haze was tired, she was sick of the constant fighting with villains and saving people who sometimes weren’t worth saving. She was becoming reminiscent of her past as a neutral. She was starting to wonder if she should have stayed on that path.

The other supers had been so proud at what they’d achieved together five years ago that they had banded together and Haze had found it hard to refuse, especially when Chromium had been nominated as leader. He’d stepped into the role quite naturally though at first he’d seemed reluctant to take the part.

She looked at Flame, he brought back so many memories of the past. She wondered what would have happened if he’d stayed. Would things have been different? Probably not but she didn’t know.

“I’ll walk you back,” Flame offered.

Haze shook her head, “No it’s okay. I need some time alone,” she told and it was true.

Flame nodded, “Okay. I’ll see you around then.”

Haze smiled, “I hope so.” Then she walked away. The streets were dirty but mostly empty. No one bothered her as she made her way back to Andromeda. Her face was too well known these days so no one tried to mug her.

Haze felt an overwhelming urge to be as anonymous as she used to be. She let out a sigh, she really did want to get away for a while. She smiled to herself as an idea came to her. She’d book some flights so that Chromium couldn’t put off a holiday any longer. She hadn’t previously bothered because Chromium could fly them both anywhere they wanted.

As she walked back into Andromeda’s headquarters she saw that everyone was bunched around someone and complimenting him on his armour. Haze decided to avoid the group. She silently walked by and went to her shared room with Chromium. She stood looking around and decided that she didn’t want to be there at that moment. Instead she found one of the vacant rooms left for any other supers who decided to join them. She lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling thinking of the future.

Chomium stood upon the roof of the Andromeda HQ, watching the race going on beneath him between Burnout and Dusk, taking note of Dusk's flight abilities. As he surveyed the city, he thought about doing something he hadn't done in a long time, yet never found the time.

Chromium suddenly burst into the sky and a sonic boom sounded. In the blink of an eye he was halfway across the city and left the Andromeda building shaking.

After a few moments he arrived at Old Town. As the name suggests, it was the oldest part of Mission City. It centered upon a large church with a tall bell tower that had long been forgotten. The was how Mission City got its name. It was originally a Christian Mission designated to convert and protect natives. It developed into the metropolis it was now over time.

Chromium slowed and glided over the wretched part of Mission City known as Old Town. The crime here had been cleaned up greatly since the formation of Andromeda, yet it was still a poor sector.

The church bell tower came into view and Chromium glided inside. The old, decrpid church still contained the actual bell, yet it was in disrepair. Chromium looked around his former dwelling and found what he was looking for. The Bishop's Chair that used to reside in the pulpit on the church below. It was very ornate and he was surprised it hadn't been taken from the church already. The mahogany covered in gold leaf and the red cushioning made it seem throne like.

Chromium closed the bell tower doors behind him and walked up to the chair. Now, the only light to be had seeped through the various holes in the doors and walls, creating many shafts of light that stabbed through the darkness of the Bell Tower.

Chromium turned, and planted himself in the chair. It felt the same as it had 5 years ago. Despite being somewhat dusty, it was still his favorite seat. He breathed deeply now, and grabbed onto the arm rests of the chair.

He began the transformation. It never stopped being painful. He winced and bared his teeth and gripped the arm rests with his hands till the wood nearly splintered. The metal covering Chromium body sank in through his skin once more and the pure white light of his eyes darkened and revealed his normal eyes. His shoulder length brown hair shot from his head along with his goatee.

Tanis Jones sat in the chair, sweating and breathing heavily, yet he regained composure. He took one last deep breath and reached into his black cloak, the only thing covering his naked body now. He pulled out his pipe once more and lit it again.

Tanis took a long drag from the pipe, and let the smoke spill from his mouth. It swirled and spun around him and through the air. He raised the cowl over his head and took another drag.

Blur was glad that he’d stayed in the Control Centre. He heard Chromium’s voice and immediately tensed. He needed to get back to the room that he’d been left in, although Blink and Shift did let him out.

Blur was trying to make up his mind when he saw Haze pass by. He decided to follow her and turned to mist. He was disappointed when he saw her go into what was marked as hers and Chromium’s quarters. She immerged only moments later looking somewhat miserable. He noticed that she moved to a door that lacked any signage.

When there was no sound Blur floated under the door and rematerialised. Haze lay on her back on a neatly made double bed staring at the ceiling. Her eyes darted to him as soon as he solidified. “It’s rude not to knock,” she said coolly.

“It’s also rude to leave a guy locked in a room for hours when there’s no toilet.” Blur countered.

“Point taken,” Haze replied, “my apologies. We’ve been a little preoccupied.”

“I noticed,” Blur said and attempted to sit on the end of the bed but Haze gave him a look that could have killed. He raised his hand, “Okay I can take a hint.”

Haze’s face relaxed as Blur moved to take a seat on a chair. “I thought you would have left by now.”

Blur shrugged, “I didn’t have a lot of choice.”

Haze laughed at that, “Come on mist man, you could have left whenever you wanted. You proved that when I saw you outside the café.”

Blur shrugged, “Someone needed to rescue Chink, she is pretty green.”

Haze sighed, “I know. Normally she doesn’t want to leave the Control Centre. However she’s got quite a thing for Jack. So when he said he was going out she volunteered to go with him.”

“Ah young love,” Blur sat as he sat further back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Haze.

She shrugged, “Unfortunately for Chink, Jack is in love with someone else who until recently had been absent from his life. Of course Chink thought she had a chance with Jack.”

The corner of Blur’s mouth turned upward in a bitter smile, “I’m familiar with such things. Mind you I think Shift is sweet on Chink.”

“She’s too absorbed in Jack to notice,” Haze replied as she looked back up at the ceiling. “So why are you really here still?”

Blur shrugged, “Boredom.”

Haze laughed, “Come on Blur, with the powers you have you could keep yourself amused easily.”

“Ah but amusement shared is so much more fun,” Blur sat as he leant forward in his chair.

“So get a girlfriend,” Haze commented dryly.

Blur chuckled, “If only it were that easy.”

“Go to a nightclub, I’m sure you’d be able to pick up.” Haze said as she continued to study the pattern of shadows on the ceiling.

“Ah but finding a woman of substance and quality at a nightclub is somewhat limited,” Blur said in response.

“I guess so,” Haze said as she looked back at him. “I found Chromium out the front of my apartment block.”

Blur visibly flinched, “Yeah, so I’ve heard.”

“Why don’t you ask Vandal out on a date? She seems to shun Frost half the time. I have no idea if they’re on or off at the moment.” Haze said as she shifted higher up the pillow so she could see Blur more easily.

Blur shook his head and laughed in astonishment, “I prefer my women a little more mentally balanced.”

Haze’s gaze dropped as she thought of Vandal. There was some inner scarring that Vandal had not shared with her. But as a telekinetic she was unable to read Vandal’s thoughts and memories with any real skill or accuracy.

“What’s the matter?” Blur asked as he picked up on Haze’s change in focus.

“I worry about Vandal. Everyone thinks she’s so tough and mentally untouchable. But I think there’s something deeper that she doesn’t share. Something that’s eating her up inside that she doesn’t feel comfortable about sharing. I think the aggression is her way of keeping people from getting to close to finding out the truth,” Haze said as she analysed past behaviour.

“So what is the truth?” Blur asked.

“That I don’t know,” Haze said quietly.

Dusk and Burnou ended their friendly race, Bunrout having won by no small margin.  Dusk however, was able to not only exhibit his flight skills, but practice with them as well.  During the race, Chromium had been seen flying away, which made both racers slightly curious.  However, Chromium's business was his own.  Dusk and Burnout returned to the others, and relaxed in the command centre.  With new, er, old-made-new blood in the group, they couldn't wait for signs of any distrubance.

((Well sorry ph34r but you've made me do this...))

Jack drove as if on an everyday street.  Besides the fact he was drving straight towards another car at 70 mph.  They were getting closer.

"JACK!  Turn this car around right now or so help me I will-"

"You'll what?  Blow my brains out?  Gut me?  Been there done that."

As they drew closer suddenly the Beetle veered off onto the sidewalk wheels squeeling.  Jack gunned it and took the corner.

"There's no way they are catching up now in that piece of crap."

Jack drove the last bit up to Andromeda.  Some personelle releived him of his multiple weapons and Jack parked the Charger underneath.  He took Dessie up to a room.

"This is your room now.  Make the most of it."

"You don't want to kill him? He certainly wanted to kill you? He attepted to. What purpose can he serve by being alive?" M'Lure asked Lightshow. She was surpised that he expressed that he didn't want to kill this man. Lightshow was still young, and would learn soon enough it was kill or be killed. Especially as a one with powers average people didn't have or understand. Those people only wanted to use those with powers for their own devices and when they did not want to be used, force them. It was something M'Lure knew only too well.

"Boss. Is it possible that we could use him?"

M'Lure at least admired that Lightshow was a fast thinker. "Fine. She replied. When he's awake you can convince him to join us. If he chooses not to, kill him."  M'Lure pulled two rods of some unknown alloy and used her power to manipulate them into binders around the man's wrists and ankles. She opened the door on the Camaro. She used her powers to easily move the man into the back seat.

"Come now. We have bigger fish to fry. Where is Atma?"

Meat is murder...... tasty tasty murder.

Burnout heard a car enter the base at the lower levels, and saw Jack leading Dessie to the living quarters.  Their business was their own, but Burnout was interested in the car.  For one, it wasn't Jack's.  Secondly, the person who was escorted from the car and into the holding cell looked like he belonged in The Matrix.  Burnout followed him, curious.  When the attendants locked him into the cell, Burnout approached.

"Hey dude. What're you doing here?"

"ah, crap crap crap..." Mr. Anasazi did not like where this was going. Jericho was behind enemy lines. This was not good. Alastor, having got back in the car, sat alongside Aansazi as they sped to Mission City HQ.

Shift slipped away, he was bored. He was probably going to drive for a bit, he wasn't quite sure him self. As he passed the last bit of the holding cell block he noticed the red light over one of the cells was on. "Thats weird.." he muttered to himself, they hadn't brought anyone else in today, that he knew of. He shifted through the door. The occupant was casually leaning against the far wall smoking a cigar. The man blew a puff of smoke, briefly obscuring his face before it was pulled into a nearby ventilation shaft. "Looks like you got caught." Shift said.

The Volkswagon pulled in front of Andromeda HQ.

"So, we gonna run in there and kill everything that moves?" Alastor asked.

"No, we play this smart. We do the last thing they expect." Anasazi corrected his partner. "We turn ourselves in."

"WHAT?!?" Alastor was indingnant.

"Well, not you, just me. I'll get in there, surrender myself, break out of whatever flimflam cell they put me in, get Jericho, then we get out of here, find you hiding safely on those rooftops, cloaked, then we skedaddle to the last whereabouts of a giant blue monster called Atma and live happily ever after."

"WHAT?!?"

------------------------------------

Mr. Anasazi waltzed right through the Andromeda HQ front door. Provided Alastor behaved, this would all go swimmingly. He marched up to the front desk.

"Hi, I'm looking for an open room, a suite, if you have one, with a King-sized bed all for myself and little mints that magically appear on the pillows each morning, and monogrammed towels that I can steal, along with the inexplicably tiny bottles of shampoo that don't even contain enough to wash my pet teacup chihuahua. Do you have anything like that for me?"

"Come now. We have bigger fish to fry. Where is Atma?"

Lightshow shrugged. His IPod was on, with one earbud in, set at a low enough volume to avoid absorbing the sonic energy.

"I dunno...I was trying to see if I can draw his attention towards me, instead of running through this god-forsaken forest looking for him. That's when this budget Wolverine knock off came after me with his sniper rifle." Lightshow gave the unconscious prisoner a look of contempt.

"You think those things are gonna hold him? I'm not sure what other powers he might have. Don't you have one of those collar-thingys that kill his powers, like in the comics?"

"Abducted, more like it." Jericho replied, walking over the man.

"Oh really. How so?"

"Well, unless you consider leaning against a gaurdrail eating a Salami Pastrami Swiss and Provalone Sandwich a crime...Yeah."

"That's bogus, I'm sure that wasn't the only reason."

"That little B!%(# Vandal tried to knife me and I defended myself. Is that a crime? Do Andromeda members now have the ability to do whatever they want now? Answer that for me."

"I'm sure you have done something to require that kind of justice..."

"Justice? Justice! She was going to kill me for breaking her leg 5 years ago!"

"Why did you break her leg?"

"She was screwing with my mind, so I shot her. But that's beside the point, she was using her powers and authority for her own personal gain and agenda."

"This IS my signature."

"There's a reason that those collar devices are in the comics. They are thought up by non supers, those that do not understand us, or know anything about the nature of our powers. I on the other hand do know. They cannot be done. There are simply too many factors to be considered for a single device to supress all abilities. " M'Lure said matter of factly.  "Besides, if there were such collars I hold no doubts that they would be used against our kind."

M'Lure scanned the tree line, doing her best to see if there was any sign of Atma. She could see nothing. "If this Atma is not here, our time is better spent else where."

Shift paused for a moment, he couldn't believe he hadn't recognized Jericho yet. "You son of a b!&(#." Jericho smilled smugly. "Recognized me, have you? I didn't think Andromeda was full of idiots." Shift punched Jericho in the jaw. Jericho dropped to the ground. And Shift left.

((Okay time for a new character for me))

The man approached Andromeda meekly.  This was a big step in his research.  He theoretically could isolate the genes now.  But that was all in theory.  He needed the sample.  He approached the reception desk.

"Um uh, hello I am Doctor Luphineus.  I believe I uh, had an appointment with the one named Jack..."

"Ah yes.  He should be showing his new girlfriend around.  Take the elevator to the 5 floor.  Then go to your left and take right at the end of the hall."

Dr.  Luphineus whipped out his notepad and began nervously scrawling the directions down.

"Buddy just follow the signs to the living quarters."

"Oh right.  Thank you."

Dr. Lupihneus dabbed his brow with his handkerchief as he walked.  He wasn't really good in crowds.  He didn't like other people that much.  So he surrounded himself with his exotic animals.  Dr. Luphineus followed the signs all the way to the living quarters.  He got in the elevator with a man who had ridges all over his face.  Odd.  These superhero types were quite different.  Dr. Luphineus made his way down the hall and finally came upon the room number indicated.  Luphineus knocked and heard a voice from within.

"Honey I'm home!  Wait I'm not supposed to say that.  Come in darling!  That doesn't sound much better actually."

A blond man in a trench coat opened the door.  Dr. Luphineus took a step back.  He was quite imposing.

"And who are you?  Wait let me guess!  Room service!"

"No I-"

"Don't say anything!  You're the police!  Honest I didn't see the fire hydrant when I parked the scooter there."

"I'm Dr. Luphineus.  I scheduled an appointment to see you."

"Ah right.  Loopy.  Charlotte the receptionist had mentioned something about you.  What did you say you need?"

"Just uh, just a blood sample."

"NEEDLES!  AH!  I HATE NEEDLES!  PLEASEDON'TLETHIMDOITDESSIE!"

"Jack calm down.  It won’t hurt.  You have a healing factor."

"Right.  Ok doc, shoot me up."

Dr. Luphineus pulled out his briefcase and sifted through it.  He came out with a needle and pulled it out of the package.  He stuck it in Jack's arm and pulled blood.  Dr. Luphineus watched as his claim to fame filled his needle.  After he had all tat he needed he put the blood in a vial.  Perfect.  The doctor thanked Jack and gathered his stuff and quickly made his way downstairs with his precious cargo to his lab.

((Revamping, Burnout also was talkign to Jericho in holding area.  I will edit other post soon))

Burnout looked confused.

"Wait.  So this Vandal tried to kill you for something you did in retaliation for somehing she did? Since when does that make sense?"

Jericho shrugged, and rubbed his jaw where Shift had struck him before.

Burnout was interested.  Jericho didn't seem like he was that bad a person.  Just...misunderstood.  Heroes seemed to jump to the conclusion that he was doing something wrong all the time.  That hardly exhibited the mercy and kindness of Andromeda.

Dusk stared at the newcomer strangely.  He had just waltzed in and asked for what sounded like a luxurious hotel room.

"And who are you?" He asked, his voice distorted by his helmet.  He discreetly powered up his gauntlets in case this strange wanderer was a threat.  At the moment, the only threat he appeared to be was that of one to the eyes. His suit was a hideous blend of colours and hurt the eyes.

"Who am I?" Mr. Anasazi asked, examining the man in the armor. "My friend, I am much more interested in who you are. That armor is vaguely...familiar. What does it run on?"

"You're asking some fairly personal questions. I ask again, who are you?"

"It's neuraly-controlled isn't it? Hotwired into your brain? Did you ever figure out how to make it work without binding it to you? Old friend of man once had trouble with that..."

The man in the armor was getting mad. " Who?!? Are?!? You?!?"

"Oh, me?" Mr. Anasazi asked, finally getting around to the question. "I'm one of the guys who hepled slaughter a restaurant full of innocnets earlier yesterday." ((If that's incorrect I'll edit))

Anasazi was met with a armored fist to his face. Feigning unconcsiousness, Anasazi fell to the ground, seemingly out cold.

"Where's the detention center in this place?" He heard the armored man ask.

All according to plan.

((Okay people I'm going to say night has fallen.))

Dessie watched Jack.

"What an odd little man.  Why did he need your blood?"

Jack shrugged.  "Dunno.  I think they said he needed to see if I was healthy or something."

"That's odd aren't you always healthy due to your healing?"

----------

Dr. Luphineus was giddy with excitement as he rolled up to his laboratory.  He hurried inside and was greeted by his pets.  His monkey Chimpy and his wolf Ulric were there at his feet.

"Not now.  I must get this done.  Then we shall be rolling in cash.  He brought his briefcase in and placed it down onto the table.  With shaking hands he brought out the sample.  Extracting a small bit of blood he placed it on a slide.  He slipped the slide under the microscope and watched as it came into focus.  Everything looked normal except...  Wait!  There it was!  Another particle floating around.  It resembled a white blood cell on steroids.  Amazing.  And now for the test.  He took another small eye-dropper with a virus in it.  Placing a small drop on the slide he watched in utter fascination.  The white blood cells reacted within an instant.  They immediately took care of the virus before it could latch onto any other cells.  He was quivering with excitement now.

"Perfect."

He brought out hopefully the final vial.  This was key to his entire procedure.  The synthesized solution would separate the white blood cells from the rest of the blood.  And it would kill everything else.  Pouring the blood into a Petri dish full of a suspension fluid, he shot the chemical in and watched.  The blood started to slowly dissipate and what remained was microscopic amount of white blood cells.  And now for the last step.  He took the sample and placed it in one of his machines which was designed to speed up diffusion.  After about a minute he took it out.  A white substance was in the bowl with the suspension fluid.  It worked.  He breathed a sigh of relief.  He put his hand down and felt his wolf gently lap at his hand.

"Yes.  It worked Ulric.  You'll be rolling in the steaks soon."

He picked up the substance and began walking over.  But he was still nervous.  Nervous enough to be shaking.  He was shaking so much the glass he had the white blood cells in slipped.  It spilled all over his hand.

"No!"

He madly made his way over to the bench and put the slimy mess into a bowl.  He had to work fast.  The blood cells in the fluid might be contaminated.  Taking a needle he pulled up as much as he could.  He found a vein and injected.  He took the needle out and waited.  Suddenly a thought hit him.  What if the cells has been contaminated?  Would it have any adverse effects?  No matter.  It had been done now.

Eagerly he grabbed a knife and made a cut on his arm.  He watched as the blood poured out.  But it wasn't stopping.  He wiped away the blood and only more came.  It hadn't worked.  He groaned and slumped to the floor.  What had gone wrong?!  He'd done everything right!  His body must have rejected the cells.  Or did he leave it out too long?  He got up and made his way outside.  He was done.  All of his money had been spent on funding this.  The government was on their way to take his equipment.

Life was no longer worth living.

Shift walked through the hall, he went back into the control center, and sat down. He was tired. He went through some screens, then out of boredom, began to read an alternate script for Alien 3 He thought it would make a better movie. He put his feet up on the desk, leaning back into his chair. He blinked, and eventually fell asleep.

--

Flame looked around. It was dark, he needed to find the others. He looked at Andromeda Tower, and wondered what it would have been like. He would have a home. He would have people he could talk to. He might even have fit in, to some extent. But now, now he was the exact opposite of Andromeda. He turned away, and went to search for M'lure.

Chink had considered flying after Chromium. She wanted to discuss the possibility of getting some combat training. He's suggested it often enough but Chink had always turned it down. But after recent events she was reconsidering it.

But Chromium was already out of sight so Chink decided that she'd talk to him later. As Chink returned to the Control Centre she found Shift asleep in his chair with his feet up. Chink smiled as she sat down in the chair beside him and continued looking for clues as to why international monuments were being destroyed. What was the significance?

Luphineus felt a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach.  It was beginning to make him feel nauseas.  Which only helped to worsen his move.  As he staggered through the city the pain only got worse.  He was about to step into oncoming traffic when the pain brought him to his knees in one wave of pain.  He managed to crawl into an alley and began convulsing.  Slowly he felt every muscle in his body stretch as his physical features changed.  His body grew hair and his mouth elongated into a snout.  After a painful few minutes it was done.

(Okay.  Now I can post the character sheet))

Real Name:  Dr. Luphineus aka Fenrir  (that will come later)
Affiliation:  Viewed as a villain
Gender: Male
Powers:  None while human.  Turns into a half-wolf (only form).  As a half-wolf has extreme strength and a moderate healing factor due to Jack's genes.  Can leap great distances.  In his wolf form he is controlled by a bloodlust.  The wolf can talk.
Personality:  Luphineus is a weak, meek individual.  He doesn't like people.  Fenrir amplifies that hate and takes it out on them.
Appearance:  Stands at about 7 and a half to 8 feet tall.

Here's an image that shows you what he looks like from the full body.  Not the right colour.

And here is the right color.

Someone had heard a commotion and made his way into the alley.

"Hello?  Is anyone here?  No?  Must be scared of shadows now."

Unfortunately for him these shadows were hungry.

A hulking form appeared out of the corne of the aley and leaped onto the man.  It tore out his throat began feeding.  After being saited it walked out of the alley and into the city.  He ran to the outskirts.  A man saw him and began to run for his life.  But it was useless.  He screamed as the wolf ripped him open.  the wolf turned his head to the sky and yelled.

"I AM FENRIR!"

Fenrir dragged his kill into an alley and sat there.  Slowly the bloodlust wore off and he changed back into Luphineus.  As Luphineus became aware he looked at his bloody hands and tattered clothes.  When he realized what he had done he moaned and curled up on the ground murmuring to himself.

"It was a dream...  This isn't happening..."

M'Lure drove back towards her place, letting the heavy rock guitar dictate how fast she got the Charger. She slowed a bit when she saw that the Camaro wasn't quite keeping up with her. She sighed to herself, Lightshow really did need her. Otherwise he'd never learn anything.

Soon they were back at the manor. M'Lure pulled into the garage, so that Lightshow could follow.

"Hey boss, this guy's waking up. I think he's going to start asking questions."

"All the better for you to answer." M'Lure got the man out of the car the same way she got him in. And she continued moving him in through the rest of the building. Finally setting him down in a small room with only a few peices of furnature. "You're lucky. I happen to have research space you can use. Don't break anything." M'Lure turned and walked out the door. "Oh, and if you have anything of value to tell me or ask, use this." And she tossed back into the room a small device. "Just hit the button on the side. Its linked straight and only to me."

M'Lure left Seth in the room to learn the art of persuasion and gab. She needed to figure out what had happened to Atma. She had done much study of supers and mutants, and now since it appeared she was starting a team, she wanted those that could help her on her side. It was those things that could really give a plan the boost to succed. She turned on her police scanner on the desk in her lab. It never hurt to hear what was going on in Mission City. She was sitting at her computer looking at various bits of data when something on the scanner caught her attention.

"Body found in alley. Inbetween 18th and 19th streets. Caller said it was mangled up, torn apart."

M'Lure didn't wait to hear the rest. This sounded like it could be a lead to where Atma was. He was easily strong, angry and violent enough to have done this. She knew of no others that were. So she quickly got back to her black Charger and sped off as fast as she could in that direction.

It was not long before she was in the general vicinity of the reported body. If it was Atma, he would not be hanging around too long, so M'Lure chose to start looking down the allys and in the shadows. That is where she saw it. At first it was just some unusual movement in the shadows, a few blocks away from where the body was found. M'Lure saw that whatever it was it was large so she pulled over to go and investigate. Thats when she heard the scream. It lasted only a second, but she saw soon enough why when she looked into the ally.

Apparently when she past by, pulling over someone had dared to walk down it. And now a creature was tearing at the man's throat, blood gushing and sqirting everywhere, down the claws, down the face and chest of this creature. One that was very much not Atma

"I AM FENRIR!" the creature screamed.

M'Lure stood out of view, watching in grotesque fascination as the creature dragged his prey further into the alley to begin eating at the man's flesh. When he was finished, this Finnir fell back aganst the wall. She was unsure of how long she stood there peering at the being, waiting for what she didn't know. After some time somethng was changing in his features, softening. Slowly he morphed back into a man. Still covered in blood and tattered clothing. Taking notice of himself, almost like he was unaware as to what just happened, he started sobbing into his blood stained hands.

What struck M'Lure was that this was someone she recongized from when she started out working on the government project. He left soon after she joined on,  so she never knew him well, but this was certainly Dr. Luphineus. He was a geneticist. But what had happened? M'Lure walked slowly and carefully into the ally, untill she was standing next to him.

"Dr. Luphineus?" she asked.

He looked up, scared with tear streaks washing away some of the blood. She wondered if he remembered her. M'Lure had changed some since her days back in the old lab. He gave a puzzled look.

"Dr. Victorla? Is that you?"

M'Lure was taken back. She hadn't heard herself called that name for sometime. This filled he with an uncharacteristic pity. "Yes. What happened to you?"

"I'm not sure."

"I am here to help you then." And she leaned down to help Dr. Luphineus up off the ground. "I have a car close by. I can take you back to my place."

Shift was in a happy place. He was in a room. It looked familiar, almost like it was part of the Andromeda building, but slightly different. He was on a couch, watching a movie. He was suddenly aware of someone next to him, he turned his head and saw Chink resting her head on his shoulder. He reached over and took her hand. She looked up at him and smiled.

Shift's eyes snapped open, his balance was off. He had a date with the floor, and he was late. There was a thud. Chink looked over quickly. "Are you ok?"  "Yeah I'm fine" Shift said, getting up. He looked at her monitor "Find anything?"

---

It was not long before Flame found her. Her Charger stopped in front of a building and went into an alley. Flame was high up, he began to let himself drop, slowing as he neared the ground. He stepped into the alley. He saw M'lure help a bloody man off the ground, saying something to him. She quickly noticed Flame. "Where were you?" she demanded, the apparent act of kindness seemingly forgotten. Flame was unaffected by her anger. "I was around."

Luphineus knew what had happened.  It was just as if he was sitting there while this...thing did what he did.  He shakily got up and backed away.

"I can't come!  If I do I will kill you too!  Please lock me up!  Don't let me do it again!"

A lizard man came flying from nowhere.  This looked familiar.  He had been experimenting with genetic testing with reptiles before he had sold the plans.  Tis was his creation... It worked!

Desdemona was confused, this world was very odd to her. "That's odd aren't you always healthy due to your healing?"

Jack shrugged, “I’d assume so but I trust the doc, he’s got his reasons for doing his tests.”

Desdemona still studied Jack with a puzzled look but she decided not to dwell on it any further. She moved to take Jack’s hand so she could lift his arm. The pin prick from the needle had already healed. “Does he regularly take your blood?”

Chink was momentarily surprised by Shift’s sudden slip from his chair. He’d muttered something in his sleep but she hadn’t really caught what he’d said. Now he asked, “Find anything?”

Chink shook her head, “No, nothing conclusive. I wonder if the attacks are about freedom.” Chink said as she rubbed her chin. “They really aren’t leaving us much to work with.”

Haze decided it was inappropriate to stay in the room with Blur any longer. She didn’t want people to assume that something more than a conversation was being had between then. “I’m going to see if Vandal has woken up, I’m sure she’ll be in a bad mood when she does.”

Blur got to his feet, “I’ll come with you.”

Haze raised a brow but said nothing. It didn’t take them long to find Vandal and she was awake alright.

“Interfering twerps!” Vandal snarled as she threw a lamp at the wall.

Haze caught the lamp with her telekinesis, “Calm down. You have no right to murder someone in cold blood.”

Vandal turned to face Haze but she merely glared at her, “Jericho is a pest that needs to be exterminated.”

“Are you sure it’s really Jericho your talking about,” Haze said calmly.

Vandal’s eyes narrowed but she hesitated, “Why would it be anyone else?”

Haze shrugged, “Past experiences can make us jaded.”

Vandal’s brows lifted, “Jaded, when have you ever been jaded?”

Blur interjected, “When have you been anything but jaded?”

Vandal swung around to face Blur, “Stay out of this,” she said with a pointed finger before turning back to Haze. “Answer me.”

“My life has not been a bed or roses, Vandal. You know that, you’ve been in my head.” Haze reminded her.

Vandal’s eyes softened somewhat, “You don’t want to be in my head.”

An idea came to Haze, she wondered if Flame could probe Vandal’s mind to see what caused these unprovoked bursts of aggression from Vandal. “Why don’t you take a hot bath and try to relax.”

Vandal looked her Haze with an edginess that suggested she might launch herself on anyone. “Fine,” she muttered then headed off.

“I get the feeling we narrowly avoided a natural disaster,” Blur commented.

“Yeah I have that feeling too,” Haze said then made her to the Control Centre.

Mr. Anasazi was in one of the detention rooms, handcuffed to a table, his body draped over the back of a chair still feigning unconsciousness. He lazily let one eye fall open to be sure he was alone. He assumed the armored man had left to get someone to interrogate him. He was alone. Perfect.

Standing up, he attempted to break the cuffs, but realized the snapping metal would make too much uneccesary noise. He had a better idea, anyway.

Reaching for his belt buckle, he twisted a knob that made himself invisible. Next, he opened his palm, outstretched his hand, and fired a lazer blast at a window that had a lovely view of the buidling next to Andromeda HQ. The window shattered with a loud crash.

Sure enough, a guard came rushing to the door and peered in the door's window. Seeing a broken window and no prisoner, the guard naturally assumed Mr. Anasazi had jumped out the window. He jerked open the door, and ran in with his stun gun at the ready. He dashed over to the table to inspect the handcuffs, but saw they were intact, and one end was floating in the air.

"What...?"

The guard suddenly doubled over in pain and fell to the floor, as though he had been struck very hard in the stomach. Which he had been. Mr. Anasazi reached back for his belt, turned the knob again, and rematerialized in the room. Stealing the necessary keys from the unconscious guard, Mr. Anasazi unlocked the handcuffs and the door, before re-cloaking himself and tiptoing through the detention hall in search for his comrade.

Griffin was exploring the city, it had seen better days.

The Alleyways was full of unwanted slime. gangs, drug dealers could even be organ dealers now a days.

Griffin himself had to conceal himself in the shadows, his Special forces 'sneaking' suit wouldnt go down to well in keeping a low profile.

<Hmmm does everyone have a gun around here?> Griffin thought as he stalked a couple of thugs who had come into possession of firearms, one had an Uzi, 9mm, the other had an M1911a1.
Griffin raised the scope to his eyes and took aim.

<Marksmanship principles>

1.The position and hold must be firm enough to support the the weapon
2. The weapon must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort.
3.Sight alignment and sight picture must be correct.
4.The shot must be released and followed through without undue disturbance to the position........

Griffin squeezed the trigger.

the uzi wielding thug's head imploded.
the other raised his firearm, confused, scared......"BOOM" and now dead.

Griffin inspected the bodies.
two clean headshots. and a mess.

thus griffin returned to the shadows.

Tanis eventually ran out of tobacco for his pipe and sighed. He stood from his favorite hair and turned into Chromium once more. It was time to return.

Chromium flew a little ways away from the bell tower before he broke the sound barrier so the shock wouldn't destory the tower.

The silver man blasted over the city in the darkness of the night, heading for the Andromeda building. Chromium always had the night shift so he should be there now.

He neared the building and slowed, approaching the helipad on the roof. However, something made him stop. The flush wall of glass on the building had an imperfection. A window was shattered and light shot through and into the darkness outside. Chromium glided down to he window and entered.

A guard was collapsed on the floor and the door was wide open. The cuffs on the table were unlocked. Whoever was in this room had escaped. Chromium reached into the folds on his cloak and brought out the commlink to the security sector.

"Red alert, escape in the detention center. Activate all security measures." He said into the link and stuffed it back into his shirt. In a second, small red lights began to flash slowly on the edge of the roof and walls and a small drone began. Chromium sped through the open door and into the hallway. He looked to the walls and saw the camera's len's brighten. This meant the motion sensors, heat sensors, cold sensors, telekinetic sensors, and other sensors would be activated to find any infiltrators in the building.

Shift looked continued to watch the screen, "I doubt it, destroying a monument that represents freedom hardly sounds like the work of a freedom fighter, more like a terrorist." He continued to watch the screen for a moment, when Haze walked in, followed by Blur.

"Find anything?" Haze asked.

Chink looked back over he shoulder, "Nothing yet."

Haze looked disappointed "Well thats great." she muttered sitting down in an empty chair.

Shift sat back down in the chair he fell out of. "Well their not giving us a lot to work with here, were doing the best we possibly can without being some kind of telepath."

Haze opened her mouth to talk, but she was cut off by an alarm. A female voice cut in "Alert: Security breach in the detention center." Shift stood up, pulled his pistol out and made his way to the detention center.

Dr. Luphineus stumbled back.  Blood was pouring from his nose.  And then the nauseas feeling inside him grew again.

"No!  Go away!  I don't want you here!"

Flame stared at him as if he were nuts.  But slowly Lupineus began changing.  Flame watched in disbelief as the meek and small man changed into a hulking wolf.  But Flame didn't waste much time.  He was up in the air trying to get out of range but Fenrir leaped and grabbed his leg bringing him to the ground hard.  Flame rolled and threw a fireball at Fenrir who barely dodged it.  Fenrir spoke in a low, menacing, gravelly voice.

"That one hurt Lizard face."

"Liked that?  Try this."  Flame telepathicly launched himself into Fenrir's mind.  The wolf howled out in pain.  He crumbled to the flor.  But slowly he got up and with one step at a time made his way to Flame giving him a left hook to the face.

Flame stuck his hand out. His palm hit the wolf in the chest, the fire burning the flesh. The wolf kicked him back, sending him crashing against the wall. The new distance was to Flame's advantage though, he opened his mouth and released a pillar of fire at the thing in front of him. The wolf howled in pain, moving out of the way, its upper body was covered in burns.

M'Lure saw that the fight between the Dr. and Flame wasn't going to go well for either of them. It certainly didn't work for her advantage for them to kill each other. So she projected an magnetic field around both Flame and Fenrir, stopping the brutal attacks. As she stepped inbetween the two of them she saw Fenris arm start to heal. She released the field that she placed around the wolf.

"It's ok Dr. Luphineus. Its allright." M'Lure said in soothing tones, trying to calm him down. " I'm here to help you. I know I can help you, and I want to."

Slowly as the words sank in, the wolf morphed back into his human form. "Please. Don't worry about hurting us Dr. Luphineus. We can take care of our selves."

Obviously the display of skill surprised the Dr. He started stuttering saying. "I.. I. didn't know that that you could do that."

"Yes. I know i have the ability to help you too. If you let me."

Flame was agitated, but still trapped inside his magnetic field. M'Lure could hear some of his shouting, but paid it no attention.

"What about that one?" the Doctor asked as he lifted himself off the ground.

"I won't let him hurt you again. I promice." M'Lure replied. Trying very hard to sound soft and convincing.

"Fine." Dr. Luphineus sighed. "what other choice do I have? What should I do?"

"We'll go back to my estate. I'm the black Charger. Door will be open." And M'Lure waved her free hand.

She released Flame's field as soon as Dr. Luphineus was out of sight. "What do you think you're doing!" M'Lure shouted at him. "First you run off leaving Seth, er Lightshow ALONE! Then you attack someone under MY supervision? That's not how it works." She sighed, frustrated. "Don't ever touch or hurt him again. If nothing else, do it as a personal favor for me."

"Fine." Flame muttered under his breath.

Meat is murder...... tasty tasty murder.
"Suggestion: Electrocution works well. Evisceration and Decapitation are also effective, or um, so I've heard."

Dr. Luphineus made his way to the car and hopped into the Black Charger.  He sat around and waited a bit.  Finally Dr. Victorla came around the corner and got in the driver's seat.

"So Serena.  Much has happened to us both since we last worked together.  Care to explain?"

"Please, I am called by the name of M'Lure now."

"Oh.  I apologize.  I didn't know."

"It's alright."

"So the force field you made back there.  Have you aways been ble to do that?"

Griffin was still exploring the city for some answers.
organized crime was on the increase it appeared.

Then griffin heard a smash of glass from the window up above him, then a snap as the bullet was redirected around his Electro magnetic field

"Urgghhh" the redirected bullet had hit someone who was hiding,
he had walked into an ambush

He took cover and undone the strap and raised his M4, someone was shooting at him.

Griffin popped his head up, a group of 'soldiers' was approaching him, they where equipped with G36c's and seemed to know what they where doing. they wore sleek black kevlar armour and helmets.
one saw griffin and opened fire. the bullets again being redirected.

griffin jumped from his cover and fired 2 shots into the first man, his shoulder and chest imploded. the two other soldiers stunned from being covered in blood. one ducked behind a metal box the other stood there.

Griffin drew a knife out of his webbing and threw it,
the soldier was hit in the neck and fell to his knees, gurggling blood as it seeped from his mouth and nose.

the sniper had fled, he knew he couldnt win but he left his team mate down there,
as the soldier reloaded his carbine, griffin stood ontop the box above him.

"ah ah ah, i'd drop that if i was you" Griffin mocked the soldier

the soldier threw his carbine and drew out his M9 berreta but griffin grabed him arm and punched the stomach of the man and kept his fist there. then in a blink of the eye let his blades from his right brace come out. the soldier was impaled by them in the abdoman. his liver was shredded, blood spurted from the wound.
griffin slumped the body to the side. cleaned his blades and sheathed them.

Griffin picked up his M4 and threw it round his back, Griffin picked up one of the soldiers M9's and the holster and placed it on his own leg.

"what the hell is going on around here!?" He said to himself as he began walking the shadows of the city once again.
he was hungry

"wonder if there's a burger king around here......"

I am the Hammer. I am the sword in His hand, I am the point of His spear. I am the Gauntlet about His fist. I am the Bane of His foes and the woes of the treacherous. I am the End.
