Do you think that Anakin fulfiled the prophecy?
I think he did. There were thousands of Jedi, and very few Sith. After the Clone Wars, there were much less jedi.

Well they said the Chosen One would bring balance to the Force. If this literally meant an equal amount of Jedi and Sith, then yes: being Vader & Palpatine balancing Yoda & Obi Wan.
However I wonder if Luke was actually the Chosen One because he got Anakin/Vader to balance the good and evil in himself and destroyed the evil Emperor.
Never thought of that, but still, in my oppinion, Vader was the chosen one, he was to cool not to be him :D
Although Anakin was so convince that he was the Chosen One that he never stopped to consider that perhaps he wasn't...
Just food for thought :D
IS THERE ANOTHER CHOSEN ONE????? ( doctor who music starts )
*Pulls the plug on the music* Nope. This is about the person from that prophecy
Lol! NNNNNOOOOOOOO! dr who music come back. ( is silent ) The prophecy is always right , i've heard. :O
When it said the Force was balanced, I always thought it ment that there was an equal amount of Dark side, and Light side in the galaxy.
Yes, that does make a lot of sense. Like the force - lightside/dark side and they are split into two amounts... :|

That would be very difficult to do....
I believe Lucas said Anakin was the chosen one. In the commentary. Or it may have been a featurette. But he said Anikan was.
I think Anikan was the chosen one, because wasn't the chosen one supposed to do something really special??? And Anikan tossed The Emperor into that thingy mabober and killed him.
Did anybody REALLY know what the prophecy ment?? Does anybody know NOW??? I mean, yeah; it sounds to me like it would bring the Sith back and make them equal again. But the Jedi (like Mace and Yoda) all seemed to think it was something great! At least that was my impression from them in Ep. I-III
Something crazy...
Maybe he hasn't brought balance to the force yet...
His "afterimage" could affect Luke in the future or something
I'll have to think about this more
I'd still like to know just what "Bringing balance to the Force" means
I think it could really go either way. Each one had point and counter point. Who knows.......maybe one of us is the chosen one?
If that's the case, then I'm the Chosen One. Ha. No, Anakin was definitely it. He turned back to the good side after seeing Luke being tortured by Palp's lightning, and realized that evil sucks (most untrue statement ever) and thus killed ol' Palps and destroyed the Sith, ergo fulfilling the prophecy.

But........................he didn't destroy the Sith. There's been a bunch of Post-Ep VI Sith and DarkSide users; most of them minor players, I know, but still.
And Yoda hinted in Ep. III the the Jedi might have been missinterpreting the prophecy. So maybe he fulfilled it when he brought the Sith BACK!

He fulfilled the prophecy by destroying the Sith, and they did return as Post-Ep VI Sith and DarkSide users...
I think the balance was met, when there were enough Sith and Jedi so neither was truly dominant...thus balance was achieved...
i dunno...
Kind of a lame prophecy: "This man will bring balance to the Force...but it will go out of balance in a couple of years so it doesnt matter."

This is what I've always thought. I think I've read somewhere that the force is like a literal light. Intence light causes intence shadow. Balance is to not have one overpowering the other.
Lucas said that Anakin Skywalker was the Chosen One on the EPIII commentary, I think.

LOL, my point EXACTLY!

Yes but no matter how powerful the light may be, an obstruction of some sort is needed to cause the shadow. I believe Anakin was the obstruction.
Ok, this is a paraphrase of something MA was talking about. Light can NOT exist without darkress. Think of a piece of paper, now, before Anakin the paper would be mostly blank, with a bit of a shaded area. After him it may have been about half shaded. Thats kind of how I see it.
Great contributions people, your views on this are great! :D
