December 30, 2007 12:14 pm # and now for the ego-centric portion of the program...
As many of you know i watch a lot of movies(nearly 50 in the theatre this year alone)-
the best movies and pop-culture of the year-IMO.
best drama/suspense- Zodiac, this movie just conveys an incredible sense of the era, and how it affected the people involved.
best 2/3's of a movie- No Country for old men, the table is set and some really awesome action, characters are fleshed out...and then nothing! i understand critical movie making but come on, lets have some resolution.
best comedy- Hot Rod, no joke. this movie will annoy for the first hour but if you can find a way to give into the purile/SNL humor. you'll be crying.
most entertaining- Beowulf, ok the nude fighting scene aside, if you cant enjoy a 3-D action/adventure-time to wake up ur inner child.
best romance...sorry im drawing a blank here. lol
best action figure- tie animated debut boba fett and new firefly(gijoe, trust me the mold is tight).
best book i read this year...maybe dirt. not a great year for reading.
best story and cinematic experience...Bioshock!(the xbox 360 game)-
seriously. if ur a gamer and haven't played this...check urself.
feel free to add ur own award show! the ballots are in!

December 30, 2007 8:00 pm # Best concert of the year: Alice Cooper's Psycho-Drama (weather you like his incredible music or not, he does have THE best stage-show)
Best reunion: Black Sabbath (they had a good show too, under the name Heaven & Hell, named after the first album they recorded with Ronnie James Dio)
Best CD: "Over the Under" by Down (in a completly different direction from former bands, (Razor White, Pantera, Viking Crown, Superjoint Ritual, etc.) Philip Anselmo provides quality doom metal)
Best Boxset: "Heavy Metal Box" (taking various forms of metal ranging from death, doom, glam, black, groove, thrash, power, shred, progressive, pop, horror, and classic, this boxset only lacks a few essential bands)

He's pretty old now, but I still think he rocks :)
Never had any chance to see one of his shows, but he seems really creative in his videos already.
Yeah, I did. Its actually Furnier. His middle name is Damon. I'm a huge fan. I even wore Alice Cooper facepaint to school on Halloween. At his show, I caught two guitar picks, a "Billion Dollar Bill" with his face on it, and a fake pearl necklace.
Best cover album: "Bodom Covers" by Children of Bodom (the speed/melodic death/thrash/power metal band covers material form Slayer, Alice Cooper, W.A.S.P., Ozzy Osbourne... and Britney Spears)

That was the best new movie I saw all year.
But I'm not much of a movie goer, I did watch the contraversial Golden Compass to find a bland reason for the Catholic League to boycott it...
Beowulf wasn't what I expected...at all.
And Guitar Hero 3 is so much fun, I got it for the Wii and already made it to Hard (I got it after Christmas). Miss Murder or When You Were Young are my favorites.
Best book, hmm, I'd have to say "Welcome to the N.H.K."
Best Talking Squirrel: Foamy
And Fett II, threatening people with death isn't, well, adviseable, humor or not.
I'll abdicate at the drop of a hat
