Daphne was choosing her own weapon when Nathaniel broached the question she’d been hoping to avoid. “So when to we meet up with your pack?”

She looked at him awkwardly. She didn’t think she should take two slayers back to her conclave but then they needed the help against the two demons. “If I take you two to my pack’s conclave you’ve got to promise me that you won’t hurt or kill any of my pack.”

The two slayers looked at each other. Nathaniel answered, “Under the circumstances, we’ll agree to that.”

Daphne gave a nod, “I better not regret this.”

The three got into the truck Griggs had acquired and drove to the edge of town. Daphne got them to stop there and walk the rest of the way. The conclave was deep in the forest. She led them on a round about way. She stopped just before the entrance. “Okay, stay close to me otherwise the others may attack you.”

Nikoli, sat on a chair, sharpening his claymore. He was in the "loby" where apparently many of the others gathered. He, like the others looked up when the door opened, a she-wolf and two others walked in. The others smelled odd, halflings?  The other looked up and one or two snarled. Nikoli sheathed his sword, seting the blade on the ground. He didnt know what was happening, but he wanted to find out.

The conclave was an underground complex. It had various entries and exits to ensure its inhabitants were never trapped. The conclave was a small city in itself. There was vehicle access that directly linked to four underground car parks within Murk Valley.

Many small homes were placed strategically to an apex in the middle of the conclave. This was the main amphitheatre, where Crispin was addressing the masses.

There were two storeys of quarters for single werewolves that lined the walls of the underground cavern and Daphne was the owner of one of these.

Griggs gasped, “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

“And I hope you totally forget about it when all this is over,” Daphne said as she narrowed her eyes at him.

Fort had the minigun hanging from his shoulder with s strap, a huge two handed sword hanging on his back, a giant .44 magnum at his side and a lever action shotgun on his thigh....and he walked through a werewolf conclave like this...as a slayer...the looks he got could burn through steel.

Fort didnt say anything after Griggs' and Daphne's comments....he didnt want her to know that he had once oblitherated an entire conclave just like this with a large team of his. It was the bloodiest mission of his life. He regreted every moment of it....killing so many of his kind....although they wanted him dead, it still felt wrong on some level. He could not tell Daphne about that mission.

They entered a huge amphitheatre filled with lycans, Crispin was on the stage speaking to them... Anita stood behind him. Griggs, Daphne, and Fort walked through the middle of the crowd to get to the stage, the crowd parted for their path. Some noses perked up as they sniffed Fort's familiar scent that was like Anita's and a little bit like Crispin's.

They walked onto the stage.

"Ah yes and here is the slayer that has been assisting us." Crispin said to the crowd. Several scoffs were audible. Crispin embraced Daphne and whispered in her ear.

"Who is the other?" he asked

"His name is Griggs, hes with Nathaniel." she answered. He gave her a skeptical look, but he did trust her.

"Very well, any news?"

"Yes, bad news."

"What now?"

"Nathaniel will explain." She said and turned and looked at Fort. Crispin nodded and looked at the crowd again

"This is Nathaniel Fortesque. Yes, he is a slayer, yet he is assiting us with defeating the demon and he will now address you all on the matter." Crispin said. Fort looked at Crispin with a raised brow... then turned and faced the crowd of more than 100 lycans...and he was a slayer.

"I realize what you all may be thinking. I am a slayer, I kill you kind...i should not be trusted. However, the problem is alot worse than we all thought.(The lycans shut up and perked up at this moment) You all know of the Balor Lord's pressence here, and how it can be killed. Yet, what you do not know, is that the Balor Lord is being controlled by a master. A greater demon by the looks of it. Anything that can use a Balor Lord as its servant is...bad. Very bad. We would have needed numbers and firepower to defeat the Balor Lord. But now, we need complete cooperation and team work to kill both the Balor Lord AND its greater demon master. For the sake of this conclave at least, we must work together."

"Now, you may be asking how did we find out that it had a greater demon master. Well, about an hour ago, the body of Clara was found in the park.(several gasps) Her neck had been broken, her head twisted 180 degrees.

This, I am sure, was not the work of any Balor Lord. They use brute force and would just decapitate you instead. This looked like the kind of thing a greater demon would do. Paul, another of your ranks, saw exactly what happened. According to him, as he neared her, she told him to run. After that her head just twisted on its own. This probably means that the greater demon was under an invisibilty spell, which explains its ability to traverse the city without being spotted once so far.

The Balor Lord, however, HAS been seen. Griggs here(he motions towards Griggs), Paul, and myself ran into him after returning to the scene. As you probably guessed, we barely escaped with our lives. In the process, we angered it pretty bad. It will probably come after us eventually. And that is where the first part of the plan begins."

"Plan?! We're being led by YOU!?" yelled someone in the crowd. Crispin stepped forward.

"SILENCE! If you do not approve of my decision then say so now and you will be exiled." He said, there was nothing more from the lycans. Fort continued.

"For the first part of the plan to take out the two demons, the Balor Lord will be dealt with first. Me and Griggs will be used as bate. It will be a simple ambush attack. Me and Griggs will be posted somewhere convenient and tactical for a fight with a Balor Lord. As many lycans as we can will be stationed around us, hidden naturally. When the Balor Lord makes his appearance...you strike. Unrelentlessly. Then, if we manage to actually kill it, its the greater demon's move."

Daphne didn’t like the idea but the others of her pack seemed to relish the thought of slayers being used as bait. It was a show of good faith in some respects although Daphne suspected that both slayers simply wanted in on the most action.

Daphne noticed that Anita didn’t look particularly happy but she didn’t say anything. Crispin had his hand on the small of her back in a comforting gesture. Daphne looked out at the crowd, all of the faces were familiar, some more than others. Loxley was glaring up at the slayers and then his eyes turned to hers. The anger that had seemed to have faded from him earlier had returned. He looked at her meaningfully and she knew that they’d have a confrontation later.

She looked away from Loxley and back at Nathaniel. He was watching her. She gave him a nod then looked away. She noticed Paul walking along in the distance. He must have taken Clara to the morgue. Daphne discretely backed off the stage and went towards him. Loxley caught her by the arm before she could get to Paul. “How could you bring those slayers here?” he hissed.

“You just heard why,” Daphne snarled in response.

“You’re too trustworthy,” Loxley growled lowly.

“And you’re too overbearing,” Daphne growled back, she looked down at his hand gripping her arm. “Let me go.”

“Or what?” Loxley said as he tugged hard on her arm making her fall forward.

Daphne tightened her hand into a fist and slugged him one. Loxley dropped his hold to touch his nose. “Don’t do that again,” Daphne snarled as she pointed a finger at him. A few heads turned their way but they quickly turned back to the slayers.

Daphne started to walk back to the crowd and stood next to Nick. “I see Loxley is trouble as usual,” Nick commented.

Nikoli watched the male get punched. He was stupid, to persue something that he clearly coulednt have. Nikoli understood this, the odd sense of being drawn to it. Nikoli felt, currently the same way about this pack, however he would be stupid to try anything. He would wait, Crispin was getting old, and Nikoli would wait. If his daughter took over, then he would wait, but eventualy, this pack would be his.

Crispin stood behind his daughter as the pack prepared to attack.

"I know the notion of using him as bait troubles you." He crooned to his daughter.

"He's my son, I can't just stand by and watch him be slaughtered by a Balor Lord!'"

"He's my grandson, Anita. I feel just as strong as you do, if not stronger. I will be watching him. If the slightest thing goes wrong, I will intervene at a moment's notice. He will be safe."

"I know. Because I'm going to protect him, too."

"What?"

"You heard me."

"Anita, this is a Balor Lord. There is a strong chance I will die in the oncoming battle. If I fall, you will take command of the pack. If you fall, then who? I will not allow this pack to fall into the hands of..." Crispin eyed Nikoli out of the corner of his eye. "...Someone who would lead it wrong. You are not coming. That is final."

"Yes, I am. THAT is final. I will not be swept under the carpet as though I was a child. I will protect my son."

Crispin said nothing for a time, just staring at his daughter, so determined to protect her child no matter the consequences. He could not be more proud.

"So be it."

(Nikoli isnt exaclty the brutal killer every one thinks he is, being alive for 1,000 years kind of makes one patient.)

Nikoli knew he wasnt trusted. Crispin did not know he knew, however. He would need to watch his back, the Alpha may decied that he wasnt usefull after  the demon was extrminated. No matter, He thought, if he attempts to dispose of me, he will find that he is better off as my ally.

(Its been night-time for a while so, I think it should be day time for now)

Fort turned away from the crowd and they dispersed. He walked up to Crispin, Anita and Griggs.

"Its just about morning now, and were not doing this in broad daylight. I suggest we wait here until nightfall again. My stuff is at Daphne's apartment, but we restocked before leaving (Fort patted his minigun). We should be set for the fight. By any chance, do you trust us enough to let us rest here?" He said to Anita and Crispin.

Paul approached the conclave entrance.  Those who were standing watch gasped when they saw Clara slung over his back.  One of them began crying.

"What happened?"  Paul just uttered one word.

"Demon."

He continued on past them into the conclave.  He drew eyes as a crowd was dispersing just in front of him.  He saw Crispin, Anita, Griggs, and Fort talking.  He went up to them and layed Clara's body down in front of them.

"I'm sorry Crispin.  She was killed by a demon.  I tried to help but I couldn't do anything."

Fort pulled Paul to the side.  "Hey Paul, what took you so long?"

"Some civilians saw me with a body over my shoulders.  Assuming me for some murderer they attacked.  Unfortunately I killed one and maimed the others."  ((The only way I could say he was so late.))

Crispin looked at Clara's body, crestfallen. He leaned down to finally close her eyes, glazed over postmortem. A group of resident priests took the body to prepare for a later burial.

Crispin patted Paul on the shoulder. "It's alright. There was nothing you could do. We'll get the bastard who did this back, don't you worry." Crispin then explained the plan to Paul before leaving the lobby to stock his arsenal.

Crispin was 572 years old. He had been around since 1435. He was the last living member of the Knight's Templar, had been taught countless forms of self-defense by Shaolin Priests in China, and had helped catch Jack the Ripper. He owned an original Pac-man arcade machine, coke bottles from the 1950s, and weapons dating back all the way from the 3rd Crusade, including several items from the collection of Marquis de Sade himself.

This Balor Lord wanted a fight, and it would get 500 years' worth out of Crispin.

Crispin left to deal with Clara’s body while Anita was left with her son and his slayer friend. “I think we can find you somewhere to stay.”

She led the pair to the small units that lined the east wall. They were generally used for single werewolves that were yet to have families. Anita decided to put them in two units that were some distance apart. She put Griggs on the second level near the mess hall and then led Nathaniel to the lower level and gave him a unit conveniently close to Daphne’s. Anita wasn’t blind, she’d seen there was a mutual attraction there and she wanted her son to appreciate his werewolf heritage. If it took a good looking she-wolf then so be it.

“You can stay here, Nathaniel.” Anita said as she opened the door. “It’s small but it should do you for the night.”

“Thank you, mother,” Nathaniel said feeling less awkward at using the word.

Anita reached out to touch him and then found herself hugging her wayward son. She stepped back and wiped away a tear. “I’ll be back to talk to you later.”

Joo-Eun was busy removing bullets from her legs with a pair of tweezers when there was a knock at her door. She opened it to see D. “Hi there boss.”

D walked into her room, “Why did you bring Valiant here?”

Joo-Eun shrugged, “He was in a bad way and there was no where closer to go than here.”

D paced and looked at her sharply. “You know Valiant is not welcome here.”

“I’ll remove him once it’s dark again.” Joo-Eun assured him.

“You better,” D said with a fist. “Also Ashryn and Striker are yet to return.”

Joo-Eun held back a sneer, “I’m sure they can look after themselves.”

“As am I, however if they’re not back soon I want you looking for them as soon as the sun sets.” D ordered.

Joo-Eun let out a sigh as she dropped another bullet onto the metal tray beside her. “Very well then,” she agreed.

Daphne spoke to Nick for a moment and informed him of Clara’s fate. Nick looked over to where Paul was wandering around looking aimless. “I’ll talk to him,” Nick said as he walked off.

Daphne noticed that Loxley had gone and she decided that now was a good time to get some sleep. As she walked to her quarters she saw that Anita had located somewhere for Nathaniel and that was remarkably close to her own quarters. She raised a brow as Anita walked passed. Anita gave her a knowing smile and continued on.

As Daphne got to her door she looked over to Nathaniel, “I guess I’ll see you in the evening. Sleep well.”

(I guess that means Ashryn and buddies are at John's for the nigh er...day)
John had stepped into what would be his office if he were a bussinessman. It was also a saferoom, stocked for three people for a week with MREs (Meal ready to eat.) it had three cots, a couch, a T.V, amps for his guitars, and a large amount of speakers. He put his gun on a small table, put a CD in the player, graped his guitar, and hit the play button on the CD player's remote, waited for a low tone, then began to play Angus Young's part in Thunderstruck.

(The CD contains some songs with guitar parts removed, so he can play to his favorite songs :D)

Fort watched Daphne open her door.

"Care for a night-cap?" He asked with a smile. Daphne looked at him and rolled her eyes as she walked into her room and closed the door. Fort shrugged and looked at the minigun he was holding.

"Care for a night-cap?" He asked it.
"Well of course you do." He said and walked into his room, closing the door behind him.

The room was simple, yet satisfying. There was one bed at the end of the room and a table with two chairs to his right. There was a trunk at the foot of the bed and an armoire against the wall to the left, both were empty. There was a mirror and a sink next to the armoir.

Fort set the minigun, Nasher, the .44 magnum and his lever action shotgun down on the table and took off his trench coat and his this vest with all the various slayer weapons and gadgets on it. He left the silver knife in his boot however, as usual. He walked up to the mirror and checked his goatee. It was getting a tad overgrown, but it hardly mattered now.

Fort washed himself a little bit with water from the sink and he tucked himself into bed wearing only his boxers this time.

It dawned on him that he was a slayer sleeping in a werewolf den and he got out of bed really quick to get something. He got his magnum and tuck it under his pillow instead of his knife this time. He then stared at the roof and waited to fall asleep.

It took Daphne a while to get to sleep but when she did she fell soundly. Her dreams were a mix of events from the last few days along with her deeper fears. She woke with a start and looked at the ceiling and realised that she was safely in her quarters. Her breathing slowed and gradually she got back to sleep. Perhaps she should have taken up the offer of the nightcap.

It was 3pm when she next awoke. Daphne decided that it was close enough to dusk. She couldn’t see herself getting back to sleep. She took a shower to wake her up fully then dressed in jeans, a shirt and her leather jacket.

She stalked to the mess hall to get some food and found that she was not the only one there. Griggs was sitting rather uncomfortably alone at a table eating while various werewolves glared at him. Daphne smiled and sat down across from him. “I don’t think they’ll bite for now.”

Griggs looked up as he spooned up some cereal. “I’m not counting on that.”

Daphne smiled and saw her cousin Karen at another table she waved her over. “Griggs meet Karen. Karen meet Griggs. Keep him company would you?”

Karen smiled shyly and sat opposite Griggs, “So how do you think you’ll kill this thing?”

Daphne got up to get her own food and saw that Nathaniel was wandering over. She waved and smiled at him and he headed towards her. “Good evening,” she said as she picked some fruit to eat.

“I think it’s too early to decide if it’s good or not.” Nathaniel said as he stretched.

Daphne was able to check him out discreetly before she looked back at her food selection, Damn Luna Eclipse. She thought to herself. “So what’s the plan for this evening? I’m assuming you’re picking up your stuff first?”

“Yeah that’s my intension,” Nathaniel said as he looked at the buffets selection.

“I can drive you and Griggs over,” she paused “since you already know where our conclave is now.” She looked up at him pleadingly and said quietly, “Please tell me I didn’t make a mistake in bringing you both here.”

"I dont think so." Fort replied, rubbing his one blue eye. He blinked and looked around at the surroundings.

"Free food, room and board, supplies, weapons and ammo.... i could get used to this." Fort said biting into a Granny Smith. Daphne smiled at him and Fort realized what he just said. He smiled back.

He walked with Daphne throught he buffet as she got various things and he got a heaping pile of French toast. Then they sat down with Girggs and Karen and Fort began lathering his french toast in syrup and butter.

For the first time Daphne was actually starting to really feel the effects of the oncoming Luna Eclipse. It was only six days away now. She found herself constantly assessing the males around her and her head kept turning towards Nathaniel. This wasn’t good. She couldn’t take the slayer as a mate, nor did she think he would even accept her.

She took a deep breath and picked up a piece of her fruit and ate it. Her eyes wandered back to Nathaniel as soon as she looked up. He moved so well and with such self assurance. He oozed confidence and danger. Daphne felt herself drawn to him and had to look back at her food. She should never have offered to drive him back to town. In that close proximity she was bound to get hot under the collar. Perhaps she needed a cool shower.

As Nathaniel sat opposite her she looked at his hands, they were strong capable hands and she found herself wondering what they’d feel like on her bare skin. Daphne gritted her teeth. She needed to find a suitable male to blow off some steam with. She turned to Karen, “So who’s still available for the Luna Eclipse?”

Karen looked surprised at the question as she pulled the spoon from her mouth. “There’s hardly anyone. The guys have been pretty keen to get someone fast.”

Daphne let out a sigh, “Let me guess, Loxley is the only one left.”

“Or there’s Nick or Paul. I think there are a few others. Are you yet to find someone for yourself?” Karen asked.

Daphne nodded and made sure she didn’t look at Nathaniel. She picked up a strawberry and concentrated on eating it. “I’m guessing I’m probably stuck with Loxley or nothing.”

Karen shrugged, “I haven’t found anyone yet, we can go kill something together if you like.”

Daphne chuckled and looked at her cousin, then caught sight of Loxley and the new arrival at the buffet. “This will be interesting,” she commented.

Nikoli woke up, and wandered back to the conclave. He was hungry, and he didnt want to hunt for a meal. He stepped in line. The werewolf that had taken him here steped up the same time he did. Nikoli stepped infront of him. Loxley grunted slightly. Nikoli glanced at the slayers, he thought it was odd that they were accepted into the pack so easily. He continues to look at them for quite a while, thinking about something.

"What the hell are you looking at?" Loxley asked angrily. "What ever I want to." Nikoli snarled back. Loxley looked like he were about to back off, but quickly threw a punch. Nikoli grabbed his arm, and in a practiced motion, placed his hand on Loxley's shoulder, pushed, and pulled with the hand he held his arm in. A loud pop sounded, and Nikoli fliipped Loxely, twisting the arm until he heard a snap. Loxely screamed in pain. Nikoli released the arm, and looked up, noticing all the stares he was reciveing. He stood, grabbed a sandwich and sat down at a table.

Loxley was in a lot of pain but it wasn’t as bad as having a silver sword plunged through his head. He grunted as he stood up. The new wolf had been looking at Daphne. Loxley had felt his anger and jealously rise with a vengeance. No one was going to be with Daphne at the Luna Eclipse except him. Unfortunately the new wolf seemed to know how to handle himself.

Loxley also felt his ire build at being so quickly dispersed. The new wolf had to learn his place and Loxley was going to show it to him later. Preferably it’d be in a pine box, six feet under.

-

Karen had been chatting to Griggs before Daphne and the other slayer had come back to the table. Like her cousin, Karen was also really feeling the need to find a mate of her own. She smiled shyly at Griggs. She could tell by his scent that he was half-wolf. She had no idea if he’d be similarly affected by the Luna Eclipse.

Karen turned back to Griggs but then the fight started. She turned to see Loxley slammed by the new wolf. She found herself smiling, it was about time someone knocked some sense into Loxley.

Griggs looked at Karen and raised his eyebrows. "So poochy, you want to go kill something eh? I can help with that."
"Poochy?" Karen asked.
"Well, It's either what I call dogs, or can also be used in place of 'darling', 'dear','honey', 'sweetie' and someone you...err...care for. In which you fit in both categories." Griggs could not believe the words that just came out of his mouth. He'd seen a glimpse of Karen when they first entered the enclave, and has been thinking of her since.
"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" Griggs thought, and remembered what Fort had been telling him about his feelings for Daphne, the 'Love at first sight syndrome'..."DAMN YOU LUNA ECLIPSE!"

"This IS my signature."
December 23, 2007 12:02 am #

Fort watched as Griggs made a fool of himself. He was quite amused. He hoped he wouldnt pull a stunt like that in front of Daphne.

He wolfed (hehe) down his massive pile of french toast just as Daphne finished her breakfast.

"Ok, you wanna go get my stuff now?" Fort asked Daphne. She put her fork down and took a last sip of her drink. She wiped her mouth on a napkin and Fort noticed her perfectly crafted lips-..."DAMN YOU LUNA ECLIPSE!" he thought

"Ok, ill be waiting at the entranve to the conclave for you and Griggs if you want to suit up." She said. Fort looked at Griggs who was eyeing Karen.

"I think were going alone this time." Fort said to Daphne motioning towards Griggs. Daphne looked at them and laughed a little, then looked at Forts blue and green eyes. He looked back into hers.... a car ride alone...

"Ok then, guess we can take the two seater..." She said as she rose from the table and walked away.

"The what? What now?" Fort called after her. She laughed again and didnt respond. Fort shrugged and stood. he looked at Griggs, but he was already walking away with Karen. So Fort went back to his room.

He walked into the room and it was pitch black. He remembered leaving the lights on...

The first strike came from the right. Fort blocked a punch with his forearms and swept his leg under the attacker. His leg contacted with something and the attacker fell with a male sounding "oof".

The second strike came from straight ahead and it was a flying high kick. Fort side stepped and grabbed this attackers leg (which felt feminine) and swung it around and slammed her into the wall. Her body hit the panel on the wall and turned the light on. It was a male and a female lycan.

The male lycan got up and lunged at him again. Fort still held the female's leg and he swung it again.

Home run.

The male lycan was sent flying throught the room and crashed into the armoire, splintering it into many wooden pieces that we became buried under after getting knocked out. The female lycan was still conscious and Fort grabbed her face. and brought it up to his. She was blonde, had blood red lipstick on, and was somewhat attractive, aside from the scowl she had on her face. Blood trickled out the corner of her mouth.

"Can I help you?" Fort asked.

"You stinking slayer! You think you can help us after what you've don-" She spat at him before Fort slammed her head into the wall and knocked her out as well. He grabbed her leg again and grabbed the male's leg with his other hand.

"File a complaint." He said calmy and threw them both out the door. He ran his hand through his hair and took a deep breath. Great way to start the morning. He suited up and walked out the door and walked over the groggy forms of the two lycans. One almost leapt at him again, but held back when he saw the minigun and the giant sword.

Fort walked out of the main entrance of the conclave and onto drive way. This greeted him. http://www.lambobuilder.com/diablo6/images/d6doorsup.jpg

Daphne stood next to the car and smiled at Fort. Fort looked at her and narrowed his eyes....lucky.

"Can I drive?" He asked. She laughed and got into the drivers seat. Fort gently tapped on the trunk and Daphne popped it open. He put the mini gun and Nasher inside. He got into the passenger's seat and looked through the car. More importantly, he looked Daphne up and down. He was seriously compelled to rip that shirt off her lovely chest.

"Eyes on the road, Honey." She said as she put the car in gear and blasted out of the drive through and into the city.

"Im not the one driving." Fort said as he turned to the road and looked at the familiar scene of the city at night time.

The sexual tension was overwhelming. Fort became jittery and began drumming his fingers on his thighs. He then turned the radio on and surfed through the channels. There was some Van Halen playing and Fort kept it.

"So are you, being a half-were, affected by the Luna Eclipse?" Daphne asked, a question Fort didnt want to hear.

"Ummmm......Yes." Fort anwered.

"How have you dealt with it before you were around lycans?"

"It began a few years ago for me. I dealt with it the way any aroused human male would. I would pick up women and...well...try to satisfy the lust."

"Im guessing it didnt work out right?"

"No, not really. Since they weren't as sex-crazed as I was I would feel incomplete at the end of it. But it was all I had. I couldnt go out and do it with female lycans who were also in the condition I was since i was a slayer. The Knights would never allow it."

"Oh. And what about now?" Daphne asked and looked at Fort's muscular body.

"Um...what about it?" Fort answered and looked at her breasts rapidly rising and falling as her heart quickened and her breathing became faster.

Daphne was aware of every move Nathaniel made beside her. He was watching her like a hawk and it took all of her will power to keep focussed on where she was driving. Daphne knew all too well that human partners were not enough to sate a werewolf’s lust. Nor were they strong enough to endure the vigorous desires that surged through a werewolf’s veins during such a time.

Daphne replied to Nathaniel’s question, “I was wondering if you’d found a way to satisfy your craving?”

Nathaniel looked at her hotly, “Are you suggesting a solution?”

“It’s rude to answer a question with another question,” she said coyly as she changed gear.

Nathaniel’s hand covered hers before she could move it back to the steering wheel. His fingers slipped between hers as his thumb stroked the edge of her hand. “Very well then, no I haven’t found a solution... as yet anyway.”

Daphne was feeling extremely hot. She was glad that she’d just pulled up outside her apartment. She shot out of the Diablo as fast as she could. Glad to feel the cool air on her skin. She walked to the apartment door and unlocked it. Nathaniel watched her and followed at a much slower pace. “What do you need moved?” she asked.

Nathaniel closed the door behind him. “I’ve got a few crates that need to be sorted and moved. Plus anything I can borrow from your stash.”

“No problem, take what you like.” She replied and then realised what she’d said.

Nathaniel moved so quick that Daphne gasped as he pinned her against the wall. His mouth found hers in a moment and she found herself kissing him with as much vigour as he. She ran a hand up his chest to his shoulder then into his hair drawing him closer.

She felt his arms around her, one moved from her waist to slide up her ribcage and his thumb moved upward but she grabbed his hand before he could go any further.

Nathaniel had to take a breath and broke off the kiss. He looked at Daphne, “You said I could take what I like.”

“I wasn’t being that literal,” she said in response but damn that man could kiss. He still hadn’t let her go. “We should pack.”

“What’s the hurry?” Nathaniel said as he leant forward to take her earlobe into his mouth, he gently nipped her then ran kisses down her jaw.

Daphne closed her eyes, she could easily let herself go but they had a demon to kill. “We should stop.”

Nathaniel let out a growl and stepped back, “I know.”

Karen was smiling at Griggs as she suggested helping him get his stuff. “Come check out my car.”

“What have you got?” Griggs said extremely enthused that he was getting some attention from this cute werewolf.

Karen grinned as she unlocked her car and show Griggs her burnt orange Lotus Elise.

“This is sweet,” Griggs said as he looked it over. Then he noticed the car beside it covered with a grey car cover, “What’s under here?”

"That was my brother's car. He died a while back, but take a look if you want."
Griggs unstrapped the cover from the bottom bumper, only then realizing what was under it.
"My God..." Griggs's face went blank. "...It's Eleanor."
"I figured you'd say that." Karen smiled, helping him remove the car cover.
"Wanna go for a ride?" Griggs looked over at Karen.
"Hell yes."

Nikoli stood in a hall way, watching people pass by. One approached him. "I heard you took Loxley down. Thats good, he needs to learn his place. You might just be the one that teaches it to him. I'm Nick." He said holding out his hand. Nikoli took it, and shook. "Nikoli."

A chill ran down Fort's spine.

He wanted nothing more than to pounce on Daphne and throw her into the bedroom. But she was right. THere really was no time.

He looked through the window and up at the moon. Six more days to the Luna Eclipse. The Balor Lord was going down as soon as possible.

He took one more look at Daphne's fast breathing form against the wall. It took everything he could muster to keep from throwing himself on her again. He nodded to her and walked into the storage room with all the weapons and ammo. Daphne came up behind him.

Fort looked through the various racks and shelves. He grabbed some extra magnum rounds, shotgun shells, and several grenades.

Daphne took two uzis and clipped them to her sides. Several daggers and a short sword strapped to her leg. Then she went into the minigun chamber and picked up one, putting on the strap and strapping in to her back. Her werewolf strength came into play here.

Then she noticed something she left here a while back and forgot about. Tucked away, behind some extra minigun rounds, were some black boots she used to wear. Hidden inside each sole was a knife that was activated by a twisting of the heel which sent the blade jutting out of the toe. She smiled and turned back to see Fort absorbed in some weapon rack, not watching her for once. She quickley slipped them on and noticed they still fit, good. She walked out of the room with all her new trappings.

Fort walked out of the room with his things and dumped them into his crate that he drags on all his long term missions. He closed it and nodded at Daphne.

"Time to go?" He asked

"Yes. Lets." She answered. They walked outside and Fort stuffed the crate into the trunk. He held his and Daphne's minigun's on his lap. Daphne turned the car on and they drove off into the night.

After what seemed like a long day, the sun finally set. D got up and went to Joo-Eun's room.

"The sun is almost completely set, let's go."

"But what about it's final setting?"

"We're not cavemen, we have umbrellas and clothing to shield ourselves."

"Alright then."

The two headed out of the castle. When they were outside, they didn't even need their hoods or umbrellas, the trees of the forest were enough to block the low sun out. The duo began to search for Ashryn and Striker, knowing that they would eventually run into them.

Daphne was glad that Nathaniel was holding the mini guns on his lap, as it gave him an excuse to focus on something other than her. Not that she’d minded being kissed but they certainly had other priorities.

Daphne let her mind delve into the problem at hand. How were they going to attract the demons? Something came to mind, “Just a thought, but whenever the demons have attacked they have always gone for a lone victim.”

It seemed to take a moment for Nathaniel to reply, “So putting Griggs and I in the same spot as bait won’t really work then.”

Daphne shook her head, “No I don’t think it will.”

Nathaniel let out a curse.

“Look there’s an option and I don’t like it but it might work,” Daphne started.

Nathaniel raised a brow, “What exactly are you thinking of?”

Daphne let out a sigh, “We need a teleporter. I have heard rumours of one. I hear that D, the leader of the vampire coven in Murk Valley, is old enough to have learnt the skill. It’s very rare and I don’t know if it’s true but it could give us the edge we need.”

Nathaniel rubbed his chin, not looking happy. “I’ve come a long way to put some trust in a bunch of werewolves. I’m not sure I’m ready to team up with vampires.”

Daphne flinched at his words. So it had been a mistake to kiss him. She decided that it wouldn’t happen again if she could help it. “I don’t trust D either but I doubt he wants to lose anymore of his own than we do.”

Nathaniel studied her for a moment, “I got the impression that werewolves and vampires never mixed.”

“I don’t think we ever have, but we have a mutual enemy. Perhaps we can put our differences aside.” Daphne suggested.

Nathaniel snorted, “Good luck. I’ve killed a lot of things in my time and if there’s one thing I know vampires always look out for number one.”

“Then we use that angle to convince them.” Daphne suggested.

“Come on, do you really think D will come to aid your people?” Nathaniel said certain of the answer.

Daphne glared at him, “Did you ever think you’d want to kiss a werewolf?”

Nathaniel immediately clammed up and looked away from her. He had no answer for that.

Daphne was angry. Sure Nathaniel could be right but she had to try. As she pulled into the car park she had to stifle a laugh. Griggs and Karen had made it to the car, Michael’s Shelby by the looks of it, and they were oblivious to everything as they made out.

Nathaniel raised a brow, “Looks likes Griggs finally found himself a girl.”

“Good on him,” Daphne said as she got out of the Diablo and opened the trunk. She helped unload the crates then got back in the car.

“Where are you going?” Nathaniel asked.

“I’m going to see D, without you.” Daphne said then threw the Diablo into gear and let it roar out of the garage leaving Nathaniel standing with his crates.

Joo-Eun walked with D. She didn’t spend much time with the elder vampire so she was quite content to learn more about him. She hadn’t liked the idea of going out before it was fully dark but D seemed to know what he was doing.

“I’m sorry I brought Valiant to the coven but I didn’t know where else to go,” Joo-Eun confessed.

D’s nose crinkled but he didn’t seem angry anymore, “I understand. I just want him out as soon as possible.”

“He’s almost healed. He did endure a lot of pain.” Joo-Eun said realising it was an understatement.

“I’d image being run over by a truck to be somewhat excruciating.” D said with a smirk.

Unlike the werewolves, the vampires advanced senses were not as honed. D had exceptional eye sight but his sense of smell was nothing in comparison to a werewolf’s. It was fair superior to humans, whose blood he could smell miles off.

“Do you know where Ashryn and Striker might be?” Joo-Eun asked.

D shook his head, “I’m not sure but we must search.”

“There are slayers in town,” Joo-Eun told as they walked along.

D raised his head, “Any in particular that might specifically go for vampires?”

“I believe that one is a vampire human hybrid.” Joo-Eun said as she recalled the slayers at the Murk Motel shoot out.

“Than let us hunt for him,” D said as they turned back towards town as the sun finally set.

***

Valiant woke with a start then smiled his slumber during the day had rejuvenated him for the evening. He stood and stretched feeling as good as new. His desire to hunt was strong due to the amount of effort it had taken his body to heal. He also needed new clothes. He noticed that Joo-Eun had left him some.

Valiant slipped into the leather pants, black shirt and black leather jacket. He noticed his guns were gone. It wasn’t surprising. He remembered enough to know he was in D’s coven. The old bastard wouldn’t have allowed him to keep his weapons.

With the need to feed, Valiant strode out of the coven building as if he owned it. He paid no heed to the guards. He simply pulled a sword from an ornate wall mount and slashed their throats as he passed. They’d heal and he needed some breakfast.

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Nikoli had an interesting conversation with Nick, but soon he had left, growing restless. He began to wander the the coven, then soon he left to walk through the city. The air was crisp and he was enjoying him self. As he turned a corner, he felt tense, like something was about to happen.

Daphne’s anger didn’t really fade as she drove around the streets of Murk Valley. She was on the outskirts when she had to brake suddenly. A man with long white hair had run across the road in front of her. There was no way that Daphne wanted her Lamborghini dinted. As Daphne pulled the Diablo to a stop she looked out her windscreen to see a familiar face. It was Valiant.

Daphne got out of the car and watched him grin, “Want to play little wolf?”

“No I want to speak to your boss,” Daphne said as she closed the door of the Diablo and locked it. The twerp wasn’t going to steal her car.

Valiant took hold of his sword which he’d had hanging from the leather of his belt. “I don’t have a boss. But I know I sure am hungry. Wolf blood is sounding rather refreshing for a change.”

Daphne moved her hand towards the Uzi at her side. “I told you I don’t want to play.”

Valiant grinned maniacally, “Oh but I do.” He swung the sword at her and Daphne ducked and shot at him with the Uzi. He quickly backed around her car, knowing that she wouldn’t fire at it.

“Face me like a man, you creep!” Daphne snarled as she followed him. She took her short sword in hand and placed the Uzi back in its holster.

Valiant lunged at her and she blocked the blow with her sword. “I prefer to fight like a vampire.” With that he leapt over her head to land behind her.

Daphne whipped around as he grabbed her arm and bit down. She screamed then kicked him in the guts. The result meant his fangs tore through both her leather jacket and the flesh of her arm. “You ruined my jacket!” she growled as she swung the sword at him.

Valiant rolled, “It makes you look fat anyway.”

Daphne growled and pivoted, the sword landed where Valiant’s head had been only moments before.

“I want to know where D is,” Daphne demanded.

“You sure don’t know how to make friends, do you?” Valiant said as he laughed. He ran with super fast speed to get behind her, grabbed her by her jacket collar and bit down on the side of her neck.

Daphne thumped him with an elbow then twisted the sword around to plunge it through Valiant’s chest as he stood behind her. He gasped and dropped to his knees. It wasn’t a killing blow but it had hurt him.

Daphne touched her neck, as the wound was pumping blood out furiously. He’d torn an artery in her neck. She had to change otherwise she’d die. Daphne shifted into her humanoid wolf form and pulled her blade from Valiant’s chest. Her own blood coated her left side and Valiant looked at her like he wanted to consume her.

“You didn’t answer my question,” Daphne growled as she stabbed him again.

“I don’t give a fu-“ Valiant started but Daphne twisted the blade in the wound. “His coven is in town.”

“Where?” Daphne snarled as she pushed the sword in deeper.

“Maxwell Street,” Valiant said as she gripped the sword in his hands, cutting them in the process, but pulled the sword from his wound and flinging Daphne back.

He jumped on her so she fell to her back. “Now little wolfie, you’re going to give me your blood.”

Daphne tried to grab the sword but it was just out of reach. She tried to throw Valiant off but she’d already lost too much blood. Daphne feared that she was about to die.

The female, the one who was with the slayer that Loxley apparently though he had been stareing at (he would be partialy right thanks to the damned Luna Eclipse) Had just been tackled. Nikoli would not let the vampire kill her. He ran and grabbed the vampire, throwing him against a nearby tree. He picked up the sword from the ground and threw it like a javelin, effectively pinning him to the tree. He walked over. He placed his hand on the vampire's throat, about to break it. Instead he hit the vampire in the face knocking him out. He walked back to the woman, and got her into the car, which he unlocked. He drove back to the conclave, and pulled into the garage.

Daphne had reverted back to her human form as she sat in the passenger seat of her Diablo. She was loath to let anyone else drive it but under the circumstances she doubted that she could.

She felt light headed and somewhat disorientated. “Thanks Nikoli,” she wheezed as they pulled into the garage.

He got out of the car to assist her. Nikoli helped her out of the car and to her feet. Daphne knew she had to look a mess. Her clothes were shredded in various places from both the fight with Valiant and the transformation. Her own blood coated all of her left side. “I need to go get some sleep,” she told Nikoli.

“Okay, I’ll take you back to your quarters.” Nikoli said in response.

Daphne noticed that one of Nathaniel’s crates was still in the car park, she hoped she wouldn’t come across him in her current state.

John had fallen asleep on the couch, his gun held tightly in his hand. He woke up, and looked at his watch. He needed to shave. He walked to the restroom, and did so, remembering who was with him only after he was done. He walked into the living room, where they were, and opend one of the blocked windows. "Its dark, you can leave now." They left, and a couple of minuets later John did aswell.

Audrey was pulled along by the two vampires. She felt torn to leave John behind. He had been her only friend for some time and she hoped she wasn’t going to regret her decision.

Joo-Eun and D heard the screams and snarls and quickly headed in that direction. “That better not be Ashryn,” D growled as he drew closer.

The shouts and noise ceased and it took Joo-Eun and D a little while to find the scene they were looking for. Valiant was pinned to a tree with a sword through him. Joo-Eun ran over to check him. “He’s not dead,” she told.

“That’s a shame,” D replied as he sneered at the other male vampire.

Joo-Eun removed the sword from Valiant’s body and he dropped to the ground. Joo-Eun slapped Valiant across the face a few times to wake him. Valiant snarled and bared his bloody teeth. Then he recognised who was in front of him. “Joo-Eun, where’s the werewolf?”

Joo-Eun shrugged, “We only found you.”

Valiant let out a few choice words as he spotted D. “What do you want old man? Are you in league with the wolves? The fem was looking for you.”

(There's a bit o' language, read for your purpose)

D stared blankly at Valiant, as though he had made no sense.

"Me? Wolves? You idiot, I am the God-Damned Elder Vampire of my coven, you half-witted brain rot! Do you think that I would ever be in league with a ton of ball-licking fleabags? No!"

"Well, well, well. Somebody went and woke up on the wrong side of the coffin today."

"Shut your mouth. At least I don't get pinned against a tree with a sword."

"Well, you might be if you actually grew some balls and walked out into the open, and around town."

"Hmm, maybe you should do it more often, they might get smart and cut off your head sooner or later... hopefully sooner."

"Whatever, Gramps. Come on, Joo, let's leave this old hag to himself and his precious coven."

"I can't, Val, I'm a member of D's coven, remember? It'd be like... like walking in daylight, y'know."

"Well, I'm not screwing up my future with this scumbag. See you later, if you've changed your mind and got smart."

Valiant was off, D not really caring. He and Joo-Eun continued their search for Ashryn and Striker, with plenty of time to go before sunrise.

December 23, 2007 8:15 pm #

Valiant was angry at Joo-Eun, how dare she side with that old fool D. It wasn’t that surprising since the old man was the leader of her coven. Still Valiant had expected more loyalty from his partner in crime.

As he walked along the gaping wound in his chest healed and he felt the thirst. He walked into town, his clothes bloody and torn, and made his way into the darker alleys to prey on the unfortunate beings that were nestled there.

Valiant found himself a group of thugs waiting for a victim of their own. Valiant smiled as he approached them with silent steps. He picked up a can and threw it with supernatural force down the alley so they’d be distracted. The first two stepped forward as Valiant snagged the large man at the rear of the group. Valiant leapt with his prey in toe to land on a rooftop and take his fill of blood. His hand covered the mouth of his victim so the others wouldn’t hear his scream.

Once the large man was drained Valiant felt much better but he wanted more. He went after the other two men. When it was over Valiant decided he needed a cleaner and less motley outfit. He removed the shirt and jacket off one man while keeping his own leather pants.

Valiant still had the sword he had stolen from D’s coven and decided he wanted to play with the wolves once more. The dark one, Nikoli, needed to die.

If it bleeds, we can kill it.
December 23, 2007 9:40 pm #

Nikoli helped Daphne to her room, her condition drawing some stares from the others. She had began to heal, but she would still need to rest. He walked off, thinking. That was a pretty good throw. A shame he hadnet hit the Vapmires neck. He would have stayed and killed the vampire but Daphne needed to get back here. He continued to walk, and his thoughts began to wander.

Eventualy they wandered to Daphne. He was agrivated. Werewolfs half his age did not feel desires he did. Every year for the past thousand years. He supposed part of the reason he thought of her was because of the woman he had known, before he was a slayer, before he was a werewolf. But Xan the Red, honored killer of beasts was dead. He had died almost 1,000 years ago. The proces had started when he was bitten by a creature he had set out to kill, and ended a few years after he had taken half of that strange liquid. There was more, he had only taken half, and he was effectively immortal. He wondered what had happend to the halfling she was with. He would not harm him, not without reason. If Daphne prefered the halfling to him, as he suspected she did, then there was nothing he could do. He continued to wander, thinking to himself.

Once Daphne was alone in her room she took the time to strip off her various weapons and boots. Then she took off her beloved leather jacket next. She was devastated that her favourite jacket was ruined. Not only was the sleeve torn but her blood had washed over most of it. She dropped it on the floor refusing to care. She looked at her wounded arm and flinched. It was a mess.

Valiant had taken a chunk out and although it was healing it didn’t look pretty, nor did it feel any better.

Daphne walked into her small bathroom and looked at herself. She looked like an extra from a horror movie. Her shirt was stained a dark red and even when she removed it her white bra and also suffered the same fate. She touched her fingers to her neck and winced. It didn’t look as bad as her arm but it certainly was sore.

Daphne finished removing her clothes and showered. She made sure that the water wasn’t too hot as she didn’t want to start bleeding again. Adrenaline had kept the pain at bay for a time but now Daphne was starting to feel every ache and stab of pain.

She dressed in a simple satin nightie and started for bed. There was a knock at her door and she staggered over and opened it. Paul looked at her in shock.

"What happened to you?"

"Vamps.  It was a rough night."

"I thought for a minute it was Nikoli.  I saw him take you in here.  I didn't see any of the wounds before.  I don't trust him.  Whenever he is around I can feel my hackles raise."

She smirked.  "I can't speak for you but he saved my life."

"Oh.  Perhaps it is just me being suspicious as an Omega."

She smiled a little bit at this.  "Not so much an Omega now are you?"

Paul's face darkened.  "Up until about a day ago.  Now Clara's dead.  And I can see everyone looking at me like they use too."

"Are you missing her?"

"Very much so."  He looked up at Daphne.  "Do you think I could come in for a talk?  Purely as a friend of course.  It seems all the other females I've tried have either immediately turned the conversation into something... hormone-driven or the males they are walking with give me daggers."

"Sure come right in."  Paul followed Daphne in and sat on her couch.  She looked at him.  "So I can obviously see you aren't with anyone for the Luna Eclipse."

He shook his head.  "I thought I could have gone with Clara.  But that hope was dashed."

"What about all the other years?  How did you cope with the hormones?"

"I learned to deal with it.  And this year I thought I had a chance to experience what the others felt.  This year is going to be different than the others.  I had something then lost it.  Having experienced what it feels like to be with a female made me feel alive.  This year there will be a hole.  And I need it filled.  And I don't know what to do."

He buried his head in his hands and softly sobbed.P

"I...we should stop." Griggs looked Karen over again, putting his arm on her side. "Well, Maybe once mor-"

She grabbed him around the neck and pulled him closer. "I've never met anyone quite like you Griggs...I think I'm in love."

"With a slayer?" Griggs raised a brow.

"Yeah, a slayer." Karen put her very essence and soul into the kiss she gave him. "You kiss pretty good for a halfling."

"So do...you. Karen, I...I need someone, I've been alone all my life."

Karen looked at Griggs, "You alone? I’m sure you’ve had to fight off the female attention."

Griggs chuckled feeling elated, "No not me. I’m a pretty boring in the looks department."

"Not to me," Karen said as she moved in closer.

Griggs raised a hand and place it over her lips, he would like to continue kissing her but Nathaniel would be starting to wonder where he was. "How about we continue this later?"

Karen kissed him on the hand. "Okay, but you’ve got to promise."

"I promise," Griggs said then as an afterthought, "By the way, can I borrow this car?"

Fort sat in his room, smoking one of his cigars Dek gave him. The only light was cast from a single candle upon the table at which he sat. The smoke swirled around his face and through the room. The only sound in the room was a "shhhhhhhhhhhhSHING.....shhhhhhhhhhhhSHING" on steady intervals. Nasher lay across his lap and he held the hilt in his left hand and a whetstone in the other. He smoothly ran the whetstone up the blade with all the care and gentleness of a mother caressing her son.

Fort stopped and peered at the blade. It could cut through a diamond. Fort was satisfied. He sheathed Nasher, put it on the table and put the whetstone away. He eased back into his chair and took another slow drag from his cigar. He released the smoke slowly from his mouth and it spun and swirled in the air. It floated over the candle and its light made the smoke seen snowy white. The smoke then slowly formed into the shape of a wolf's face. A pure white wolf.

Fort noticed the image and became nervous. He smashed the last of his cigar into the table and waved the smoke away. It scattered around the room and Fort stood from his chair and stretched. He was just about to turn off the candle when the smoke swirled and formed in front of his face. The white wolf's face appeared inches from his. Its eyes stared directly into Fort's. He could have sworn one of its eye's was blue and the other green. Fort licked his fingers and placed them around the candle wick, about to put out the tiny flame, but stopped. He looked into the wolf's eyes again, then pressed his fingers and turned the light out.

As weary and achy as Daphne was she reached out and took Paul into a comforting embrace. She winced at the pain it caused her but she understood how Paul was feeling. She’d been devastated when Thomas had died. It must only be magnified for Paul being so close to the Luna Eclipse.

As much as Daphne wanted to help Paul she really needed to rest. She wondered who he could talk to and then it came to her. “Paul why don’t go talk to Fran? She’s old and wise. She helped me find Anita, perhaps she can help you.”

Paul stood back, glad for the moment’s comfort, “I guess so.”

Daphne smiled wickedly, “Otherwise you could always find comfort in a human’s arms. They have no idea you’re an Omega.”

Paul nodded and walked away seemingly lost in thought. Daphne closed the door behind him and returned to her bed.  She gasped as she lay down, as the pain was certainly getting worse. The adrenaline was most certainly gone.

Eventually sleep came but it was quickly disturbed as she rolled on her left side and let out a screech. “Oh my God, that hurt.” She said as she took a few deep breaths and held her arm. She turned on the light to see the wound was now seeping.

There was a knock on her door, “What now?” she muttered as she held her wounded arm.

As Fort closed his door behind him he heard a yell from Daphne's room. He was going to go for a vampire slaying run, but he decided to check what the noise was. He went back into his room and took off his weapons, trench coat, and vest. He was about to walk out of his room in only his cargo pants and boots but thought otherwise. That would seem to obvious so he threw on a black tanktop and knocked on Dpahne's door.

Daphne opened the door and Fort looked her up and down. He had seen her come into the conclave held by Nikoli, he had decided not to intervene however. She was mad enough at him. But now he was actually somewhat worried about her. He would have followed her, but he had no vehicle. He now currently blamed himself for what happened to her.

He saw the wound on her arm...it didnt look too good.

"....You ok?" Fort asked, not knowing what else he could say.

Daphne was somewhat surprised to see Nathaniel at her door. “I’ve been better,” she didn’t want to improvise as she was certain that Nathaniel would give her a Told you so speech. “I didn’t run over a vampire because I didn’t want to dent the Diablo. He ruined my jacked and left me a few bit marks in return. Now if you don’t mind, I’m going back to bed.”

She went to shut the door but Nathaniel grabbed it and held it open, “You went looking for D, didn’t you?”

She looked at him with annoyance, “Yeah but I found Valiant instead.”

“Valiant?” Nathanial asked.

“Yeah the blonde dude who shot at us at the Murk Motel, the one that Griggs ran over.” Daphne pointed out and winced as she turned her head slightly.

Nathaniel reached out to touch her jaw and moved her head to the side slightly, “He fed on you?”

“Not for long,” Daphne replied as she gritted her teeth. She was weary and in pain but even so she had to stop herself from drinking in the sight of Nathaniel at her doorway. She’d be glad when the Luna Eclipse was over, however she knew things were going to get much worse hormone wise. She knew that she was only standing in her navy blue satin nightgown. It was short and didn’t really leave much to the imagination. She’d worn it because it was easy to put on. She suddenly felt self conscious. “I’m going back to bed,” then she paused. “Don’t rule out D, Valiant isn’t part of his coven.”

Paul couldn't work up the courage to knock on Fran's door.  To be honest he was scared spitless of the elder-wolf.  Dejectedly he walked away and made his way back to Daphne's.  He found the door wide open.  Slowly he made his way in.  He heard Fort.

"You ok?"

Paul heard them talking and finally Fort walked out.

"Oh.  Hey Paul.  How you doin?"

As well as I can coping with losing the love of my life."  He smiled a lop-sided grin.  "Enough of me.  So Fort.  People been telling me you want to vampire hunting.  Mind if I join?"
