realyy good, however the movie caused many to be afraid of clowns......dont know why though....

I've only ever read half of the Dark Tower series....please, no spoilers though. :P

Dark Tower = excellent series. I suggest you continue reading them.

I got somewhat lost around the fourth one...things just got a little wierder than usual. 
But I'll pick it up again when I find a decent library.

it was a great set up and what could be more poigniant than cell phones,
but i thought he got lazy-i dont want to drop any spoilers but he borrows alot of the same themes from "the stand"

I havnt read the stand. And the russian thingy was annoying

The Stand was pretty fantastic, you should definitely read it. Just when you think you've seen every character out there he brings in The Trashcan Man.

Also, if you're reading the Dark Tower series, definitely read both The Stand and Salem's Lot. Makes it more rewarding, since King repeatedly (and significantly) self-references.

A guy i knew was reading the stand, and i think he started on the Dark Tower series, but got bored. Also, i started to read Salem's Lot, but i got a little bored. so far ive read... Cell, It, Pet Sematary, The Dead Zone, Four Past Midnight(or most of it anyways), Running Man, Long Walk, Rage, Thinner, Road Work (those five were written under the name of Richard Bachman) And some others that I cant remember.

Cell, It, P.S., Langoliers, Storm of the Century, one that i cant remember, kujo, Riding the Bullet, those are all the movies of SK books ive seen.

Stephen King is awesome. My favorite story would be It.

by the way did anybody see "the mist"...
is was doo doo. IMO

draco, how have you not seen "killer klowns from outer-space" yet.

I want to see the mist, but his books are usualy better then the movies made of them, a great (or bad) example of this is the Langoliers.

Straight up rip-off of The Fog.

i saw the remake of The Fog, i didnt like it that much.

Im going to read the book (The Mist) first, may be way better then the movie.

me neither, i preferred the original Fog as well.

I read The Shining not long ago.  I nearly couldn't put it down and it was the first novel of his I've actually read.  It was funny comparing it to the film (the first one with Nicholson, not the remake) and how half the infamous scenes in the film weren't in the book... 

And it was my mother's old copy of it too.  The paperback was actually shiny and you could see a distorted reflection of yourself in it.  It was funny, but killed when I had in the passenger seat when I was driving and the sun hit it.

I have his entire collection. Can you believe someone was throwing all his books away??!! I found this big box on someones driveway next to the trash. (YOINK!) I took them of course and I gotta say that I really liked Desperation...and The Green Mile series.

not so much. the fog was a popcorn horror(and the remake was poop),
the mist is a psychological study of a group of people when communication brakes down, and they
r rattled into a frenzy. the monsters are merely the paint on the canvas.

and i agree with you sinitas, desperation as great for about 2/3 book, then in king fashion he lamed it up
with the explanation for the horror. IMO

I have a bunch of his books, but I've only read a few novels so far. Desperation was the first, and I too thought that it was great.

IT is a very good one, you must read it. Same with Pet Semetary, the ending is exelent :D

Ha, I've gotten furniture that way. 

I've heard there's a copy of IT somewhere in our storage room, but I think I'll have to dig a lot to get it...  :(
