Calvin went to work setting up his set.

October 19, 2007 11:39 pm #

Krista and Alicia decided to follow the others. Krista noticed that Alicia was looking rather pale. "Are you okay?" She asked.

"I'm not sure, I don't feel right but I'm not in pain." Alicia replied.

Krista was suddenly nervous about that bite Alicia had gotten earlier in the night.

Calvin felt uneasy. There was some thing intruding. He felt it. He kept his gun by his side.

"That sounds like a good idea"
Frank helped her get over there, and  said "If you need any water or anything just tell some one." Then he went back to the others.

In time, Jon and Fort arrived at the Rand tower.

"So. Any plans on getting in?" Jon asked his new partner.

Calvin saw the girl. "Oh, no,"said Calvin, "I know what is wrong with her."
He rushed back to the lab. "Now I must come up with a cure,"said Calvin.

Alicia closed her eyes and Krista watched nervously as she switched in her sleep.

"This doesn't look good," Krista whispered to Calvin.

"I'd say she's infected," Calvin told.

"What do you mean by infected? Is she going to turn into one of those... things?" Krista asked, knowing she wasn't going to like the answer.

Frank didnt hear every thing said between Calvin and Krista, but he did hear "infected" and some mentions of the tired/sick girl.

He walked over to them "Listen, if she has whatever those things out there have," he pointed back behind him, at the door, where a lone zombie wandered through the maze of debris out side. "we need to get rid of her. I would prefer if this happenes quickly. I dont want to see some one die slowly."

He heared a cough from the bench where she was sleeping.

Fort peered up at the tall tower infront of him and Jon. He pondered upon Jon's question for a moment.
"Well, I definitly dont think we should storm the front door. I've had my fair share of infiltration missions in my day however so we should be fine. I say we either go through the back service entrances...or we access one of the ventilation shafts..."

"I think I have formula that will help her body fight the infection,"said Calvin.
"I am not completely sure though, it could speed up the process of infection,"said Calvin.

(how can you make a cure, for a virus that was, and still is completely classified? and you have no information about?)

"Listen you do what you want, but im gona go get some water." Frank  went past the girl, who was apparently sleeping, as she wasnt moving. She looked realy pale, What ever calvin's planing to do he better hurry Frank thought. He stopped at the water fountain. and pressed the button.

There was a scraping sound behind him. He stood, and spun, as a low, horase moan began. The waitress was there, and she grabbed his face with one hand and his shoulder with the other. Frank tried to push her back, and punched her in the throat. This, however, did nothing but stop the moan. He managed to push her back. He grabbed a hammer from a nearby shelf, and hit her in the temple with the pry end. She fell, and didnt move.

Calvin and Krista ran over, and Frank dropped the hammer. He waas breathing hard, getting atacked by a person you were just talking to half an hour ago did that to you.  He sat down on a chair.

Krista was mortified. Alicia was dead and her remains were a bloody mess. Krista turned away, a hand over her mouth to stop herself vomiting. She blinked with tear filled eyes and prayed that she didn't have the same fate. "That was a bit extreme." She spat at Frank. Although she understood his reason for doing what he did.

"She would have killed us all. You're friend was already dead, she just didn't know it." Frank pointed out.

Calvin patted Krista gently on the shoulder, "I'm sorry I couldn't help your friend."

Krista nodded, "I understand. But I don't have to like this situation."

Frank shook his head, "No one likes this situation."

"So how do we get out of it?" Krista asked as she dried her eyes with the heel of her hand.

Frank grinned, "With a lot of fire power and carnage."

"Listen, Im sory. We need to get rid of the body, the ....disease.. might be contagious. We need to get out of here, and in order to do that, we need to get past a millitary blockade. "  Frank looked down at the body "If we dont hurry, we wont make it, but we need to wait untill morning, i dont want to see how their night senses are. I think thier getting faster, and smarter. I didnt even here her untill she was only three feet away." he looked back at Krista "Im sorry."

"Calvin, could you get a tarp or somthing, I dont want to make anyone else see her for any longer."

Krista chewed her lip and nodded in understanding. "I'll get a mop."

The guys had wrapped Alicia's body in a tarp and had disposed of her outside. Krista was starting to mop up the blood when she noticed that Calvin had taken a sample. "Is it wise to keep a blood sample?" She asked.

"I want to analyse it. I might be able to find something to slow the process and eventually find a cure." Calvin told.

"That seems rather optimistic," Krista said. "The disease seems to be fairly fast acting."

"I know, but some hope is better than none." Calvin replied.

Krista nodded as she cleaned up the last of the blood and looked into the murky red water that swirled in the bucket. "We need to get rid of this also. I don't want to end up like Alicia."

Frank walked back into the room, "None of us wants that."

"Let me take that outside, i could do a little recon while im out there."
"Be careful, dont get yourself killed, or biten"
Frank grabbed the bucket, and  stepped out side. He dumped it in a storm drain, and saw a spider which had the bad luck to be there. The arachnid scurried away from the bloody water, but was not fast enough, and was drenched. The spider imidiately withered and died, when the water was gone, he paused, and picked up the corpse, thinking Calvin might find it interesting. He looked up, and saw a zombie in the distance, which, thankfully didnt see him, he turned and went back in, quietly as he could.

"Alright then."
Fort and Jon circled around the building, taking out zombies when necessary. When they reached the rear service entrances they adopted a more combat efficient formation. They sped towards a large metal service door and Fort smashed the lock with the butt of his gun while Jon lifted the large metal door and it slid open. It was pitch black inside the service area and it seemed it had not been used in some time.

Castle and fellow Sergeant Renfro had found a good spot to hide out in untill they got radio contact. It was dark, the only way in is an elevator...the 99th floor tends to do that to you... they were well armed, and had enough MREs to last almost a week. On top of that, they had not had any security issues...until the silent perimeter alarm was tripped.

Jon felt around in the dark for a light switch. When he found one, Jon discovered there was nobody on this particular floor of the building. No guards, no nothing.

"Hmmph. Must be higher up in quarantined area. Suggest we find elevator."

"Alright theres a service elevator over there." Fort said to Jon pointing at a pair of steel doors with a panel next to it. They approached the elevator and paused. This seemed like of a kind blunt and direct type of infiltration.
"What the hell." Fort said as he pushed the up arrow.

Meanwhile, high into the tower, a red light flickered to life and blinked on a security personel's observation panel. He grabbed his radio and spoke into it.
"Intruder alert at service elevator 003."
"Roger."The radio crackled back.

The elevator doors opened and Jon and Fort were already aiming into it just in case it had any unwanted passengers. It was empty and they cautiously walked in. Fort was again faced with the bluntness of using a button panel. He looked up and down at the large panel consisting of buttons numbering up to 99, the 100th one having a lock next to it, keeping them from actually reaching the last floor on the elevator. Fort shrugged and pressed the 99th button. The steel doors closed and the elevator flew through the stories with surprising speed. The eleveator music was quite pleasant...yet contrasting the mood of the mission.

Edward checked and rechecked all of their hacked camera feeds to find the intruders, but nothing turned up.
"Damn. Where are they?" He thought.
Then the elevator light came on.
"Oh." Ed quickly found the elevator feed again. "Got you. Renfro! Get over here! We have movement!"
"Who do you think they are?" Renfro asked.
"I don't know. One of them looks to be Military of some kind, but I don't know about the other guy. We can't take any chances, so cut the light and get ready." He replied.
"Will do."

Jon and Fort stood in the elevator as the pleasant music played in the background. The awkward silence between them was made all the more uncomfortable by the music.  Jon checked his ammunition and made sure his sword would be easily accessable should his guns run out of bullets.

*Ding!* The elevator chirped as it reached the 99th floor.

Jon and Fort stepped into complete darkness. Jon heard the sound of guns being cocked.

(Wait a second, are the guns we just you Lord Revan? I didnt want to start a gunfight with a possible ally. Also I write that the elevator stopped halfway through the building and me and Jon ahd to jump off before the cord was cut and the elevator crashed to the bottom, we would then have to fight our way through the remaining floors containing hostiles...that way its not too easy. You guys want to keep it like this or make that change?)

Fort pushed Jon back into the elevator and they pressed themselves against the sides of the steel doors, awaiting the gunfire that was gonna fly into the open elevator.......but it never came.

"This is Sargeant Daniel Fortesque of the Marine Special Forces Corps, put your weapons down and identify yourselves!" Fort yelled into the darkness.

At that moment Krista heard a scrapping noise at the window. She jumped up to see a zombie clawing at the shutters with an open hand that was lacking a lot of flesh.

"They're trying to get in!" Krista cried as she stated the obvious.

It had only been ten minuets, and already there were more of them. One turned to two, two to five, five to fifteen. They were still ariving. Frank was pacing, trying to think of a good escape plan. He walked to the window, where most of the zombies were. He looked at them, and saw how they all stared at him, one even tried to chew the glass. He walked over to the others, who were all near the chairs. "Ok, I have a plan."

"Were gona starve if we stay in here. We need to get out, unfortuantly, its going to be dark, and we need to leave soon, or we wont be able to go at all. There are plently of things we can use as weapons here. The army has a perimeter set up, but its pretty far out. Unless we can get a car, were gona have to walk. I dont want to be out there, but we cant stay here. Besides, if we get to the perimeter, were out of this, we havent been bitten, we would probably just have to stay in quarantine for a month or so." He looked at them all, he could see the fear on their faces, and he could feel it inside himself aswell.

Krista chewed her lip, not liking what she heard. "I've still got my car keys."

Frank nodded, "Is the car far from here?"

"About a block or so. But I'm worried about zombies lingering around it." Krista told as she looked at the glock once more. She had extra rounds but she'd never really had much to do with guns. Chances were she'd be a lousy shot.
