I know Boba Fett is a mercenary and all about looking out for himself and collecting bounties, but he must have political opinions.

I got in a big fight with my dad over this. I said that Boba Fett would definately have two political stances. 1) no restrictive gun laws AND 2) support for gay marriages.

My dad got pretty mad, although I did get him to admit that Boba would at least support some form of domestic partnership laws.

What say you fellow Fett fans?

September 22, 2007 8:16 pm #

My brother brought up an excellent point. Boba Fett would also support stem cell research and cloning.

September 22, 2007 8:21 pm #

I'd think He'd support that, I doubt he's a homophobe.

Your god won't be there to save you, or maybe I will
September 22, 2007 8:23 pm #

definitely stem cell research/cloning/no gun laws. gay marriage, idk probably cuz he doesn't seem like a homophobe but there aren't really any homo characters in star wars to determine.

September 22, 2007 8:27 pm #

Boba seems very utilitarian, so I'd say no.

take it easy baby take it as it comes

Fet2 must be joking.

Ah, I don't think Boba would care one way or the other.

i agree with bffc-mel, he's not in the business to care.  it would hurt his income.

September 23, 2007 5:45 am #

Okay, I don't want to besmirch Boba in anyone's eyes, but he was raised in a non-traditional family structure, so I think this would definately be something that would matter to him. Plus, I don't recall ever seeing him with a girlfriend, so who knows what his personal lifestyle is anyway, not that his career would allow him any time to settle down with the right person.

September 23, 2007 6:31 am #

He was married. He had a daughter that wanted to kill him. Read Bloodlines.

not is he gay, it's does he support gay marriage.

i still say he doesn't care since money isn't gay or straight.  just like he's not a racialist, money has no race.

Jesse, I've read numerous posts of your and I really think that you superimpose a lot of very lofty ideals on a person who's clearly a scumbag, nasty, probably safe to say betraying, drinking, lowlife bounty hunter.

It's pretty easy to imagine that he probably has a very negative view on life and probably has built racial and sexual prejudices... (no different than today. that stuff is timeless imho)

September 23, 2007 9:28 am #

I think that Boba is most likely has a libertarian view on things. So he might not like homosexuals, but I don't think he'd support any laws against them. But, I also don't think he'd support any laws against his right to kill them either.

September 23, 2007 9:44 am #

he lives by his own laws when it comes to killing.

September 23, 2007 9:45 am (Edited September 23, 2007 09:46 am) #

Let's just say a guy without a girlfriend is not automatically a homosexual.

Okay, there are a lot of good points made, but about the gay marriage thing, I doubt Boba would support it. I'm sure he couldn't care less about it.
And about the cloning, I doubt Boba would ever support that. He is a clone himself, and yes, I'm sure he's proud of being Jango Fett's "son", but does he like looking at armies of Jango Fetts? I doubt that...

to not acknowledge the almost certain homosexuality that occured throughout the star wars era is insane.

do you know how the legend of the mermaid was born? sailors would get so lonely out on sea for a few years, they started thinking dudongs (look like uglier manattees) were beautiful women, and had sex with them. and thats jsut a few years at sea with things to do (fish, swim, etc)

now think about the years spent in space, in a steel container with 5 other dudes. they most certainly all woke up with a bad taste in their mouth at one point or another.

im probably the biggest boba fett on here. (i have 11 pieces of ink on my body with boba on it), but im not mental enough to deny they were at the very least, bisexuals.

You know, we REALY did not want to know all of your oppinions on star wars homosexuality. Please, there are probably younger, more impressionable people here.

I don't think Boba Fett would get involved into politics... I honestly don't think he gives a damn the way society is run, he has a his own lifestyle that is independent of the way the galaxy is governed.
That's all I'm gonna say.

I highly doubt gender matters to him, with him being Mandalorian and all (I read somewhere that they don't carea about gender, they care about ability.) I highly doubt he'd even care about marriage in general, whether it be gay or not.

But, if I had to choose between "Would he or Wouldn't he?" I'd say he would, but he wouldn't get all overzealous about it.

I don't it is ageist the bible! And Green has a point. Most of us have never met him. Some of us never will.  So how do we know what he supports and don't support?
I don't agree with homosexual marriage, but there is nothing I can do about it right now.  I have been around REAL homosexuals  and I know what they are like. For the time being I can't stop Homosexual marriage.

I doubt Fett would really care about this issue at all. He isn't paid to care about the rights of homosexuals, so I doubt he'd take much interest.

I really don't think he'd care, either way, just so long you got the mission done.  He'd probably be under the impression to let you live your life the way you want to live it.  There is also the fact that there is an obviously gay married Mandalorian couple in the new books and Fett hasn't commented on it.

I've always thought that the universe in Star Wars would have moved past gay marriage being in issue, seeing as they already have inter-racial relationships. Even if it was in issue though, I don't see Boba caring.

That makes alot of sense. If your "involved" with some one who isnt even the same species as you....hold on. Thats not possible, two species would usualy have differen DNA, different enough to where reproduction would be impossible.
(then agian, if their DNA was simmaler enough, they may be able to.)

But anyways, i agree with Sol

I keep trying to type a response to this, but it always seems to come out perhaps a little to inappropriate for these forums. Here is a point though: gay people can't reproduce either, but they get by. I'm sure the the creatures in Star Wars can be creative when they need to. And I'll leave it at that.

Well it is possible if you think about it.  Zebra and donkeys are totally different, yet they can reproduce.  Same with donkeys and horses.  So I do not see why not say Twi'leks and humans?  Both a humanoid species.

I was about to comment that if you guys read Sacrifice, this question is answered.  I'd think if he had a problem with it, his actions would have suggested his opinion.  From my understanding, Mandalorians are very tolerant and open-minded, accepting people as they are.

While I personally believe gay marriage is wrong, I don't think it'd affect Fett much.  I'm saying the same thing lots of you guys are saying, but that's because it makes sense.  It doesn't directly affect him in any way; he can still get by, and make a profit.  And in the end, making a profit is what counts for him. Of course, all of his new responsibilities as of late may through that a bit out of the spotlight.  But we all know that at heart, he is a bounty hunter, not a farmer.  So in the end, the hunt and the reward is all that matters (I'm boiling it down right to the basics) and typically, Fett doesn't let any other factor impair his judgment or opinions.  That's just my two cents worh.

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I don't think he would have an opinion about it one way or another.  The only political issues he WOULD care about are those that allow bounty hunting.

Ok. #1:NO. #2:Mass Effect comes to mind... #3: Boba doesn't care, he has no use for such trivial talkings. But, he lives by a strict moral code, he never does drugs, never kills people outside of jobs or self defense, etc. So, that means no. And by the way, what kind of a question is that? That's like saying "Does Boba Fett support prostitution?" Who cares? I bet he wouldn't.
