"Hmph. You idiot. I would not have used the orb to harm you, but you have forced my hand." He drew another summoning rune on the ground.

"Thank the gods for that orb, or else this summon would undo me..." The sky clouded once more, the smoke and darkness again appearing out of thin air as Malachai recited his summonig rite.

" Summon Kyrie!"

Their was an ominous boom in the air as out of nowhere there appeared a great bird, towering and majestic, it's feathery body a living flame.

"Ma-la-kai? Two-sum-mons-in-such-a-small-time-per-i-od? Why? How-do-you-still-have-power-from-sum-mon-ing-Za-sa-la-mel? Did-his-kil-ler-re-quire-such-pow-er?" The bird screeched.

"What? Zasalamel is dead?"

"Yes-he-died-not-long-af-ter-you-sum-mon-ed-him."

"Well, then this is war." Malachai whirled around in fury, screaming at the forest. "Where ever you are, he who commands this forest, know this! You have brought this punishment on yourself! You could have left us be and you would not feel my punishment! But you have stolen from me, and for that I will burn your damned forest to the ground!"

And with that, Kyrie began setting the woods up in flames.

:Shinomori would hide no longer.  He reopened several scarred runes on himself.  Reflect, Heal, Ressurect, and Rain.  Any damage inflicted upon him is negated and inlflicted on his attacker, failing this any damage is instantly healed, lethal damage is reversed, at it is now raining.  All fires cast are negated.:

:Shinomori appeared behind this necromancer.  He would not have this one harm his forest any longer.  The guild blade plunged hard and fast into Malachai's achilles tendon, crippling him.:

(I know I don't. That's why my guy is PO'ed at you, beacuse you stole the orb from him. For the limited time he had the orb, though, it recharged him enough for another summon. ))

Malachai stumbled to the ground as the blade entered his flesh, as the forest blaze was kept at bay by the rain. Kyrie continued to try, however. Malachai mumbled the word "heal" as he placed his palm on his wound and stood up wobbily.

"You dare attack my forest?" is opponent bellowed.

"No." Malachai replied. "I dare attack you." Malachai prepared to fire a blast of dark energy at the man, but noticed the reddened words on the ground.

"Hmm...bloodrunes, eh?" Malachai mused, formulating a strategy. His attacker attmeted another stab but Malachai stepped ot of the way.

( i think the orb should teleport, because raj'el's charcter's forest is kinda close to the city/encampment, my character just walked there in less than an hour.)
Kal'ok'eth was cloaked, he saw the necromancer attacking the elf. He had herd bits of conversation from earlier, and they spoke of some orb, could this be the orb he saught? He belived it was, he began to search the forest and before long he found it. He reached out to grab it but as he lifted it from the ground it vannished.
(the wastes where the orb was supposed to be is realy far from here. past forests, mountains, tundra, all sorts of terrain.)

Watching all of this unfold, Ka'rta decided that it was high time that his blades tasted blood, he raped the shadows around his blades strengthing them, he then lept from the shadows attacking the horde of goblins from behind, beheading, one and choping down a second.

(Yeah, that works.  Hey ph34r, do me a favor.  Don't post what my character says or does.  I come from a very formal, White Wolf RP background, and when you do that it sets my OCD into spins.  And the runes he just carved are into his flesh.  There's no erasing them.  And any runes he draws now are more powerful, beccause his blade has an enemy's blood on it.)

:ShinomoriFelt his girp on the orb slip in the shadow realm, and al of a sudden it was gone.  Out of his dowmain, out of the forest.  Good riddance.  The Mirrari was an artifact that had been here far too long.  He drew his scimitar.  This fight could take a while.:

"Then you die, dark one."

:He slipped into the shadows again, to appear behind his opponent, slicing at his lower back.  The 'walking was becoming tiring, he hadn't needed it in combat for sometime.  He suspected that would be the last time he performed that trick any time soon.:

Valthonin had finally reached the city. He did not need to ask for entrance into it because the gates had been destroyed. He traveled through the ruined city, taking time to evaluate its decrepid state. It could rebuild, it had a chance. That of course was if they won this fight. Valthonin eventually came upon the great caslte in the heart of the city. Its battlements were partially destroyed, its banners shredded and on fire. The caslte gate was still working and had held its own during the battle it seemed. It was also still guarded. The city had started repairing itself.
"Halt, none may enter King Geribold's castle at this time. The battle has crippled our forces and King Geribold is under great stress at the moment preparing for the next assault." One of the guards told him.
"I understand that, however I am here to inquire upon the king what sevices I may lend my sword to." Valthonin said. The guards looked at each other.
"Well we would send you to the captain of the gaurd for mercenary work, but he's dead. So the next best thing is the King im afraid." With that the guard banged his halberd hard upon the floor and shouted up to the keep battlements. "OPEN THE GATES!". There was a moments hesitation as the gate operator looked lazily down at Valthonin and his eyes grew wide at his appearance. Then he disappeared behind the wall and the gates slowly creeped open and Valthonin walked through. The court yard seemed fine. It seemed that few projectiles from the enemy catapaults had cleared the great castle walls. He came upon the castle door where two more guards were stationed. He was not questioned because they knew that the guards at the front were the ones to do that. One of them banged his armored fist upon the great wooden doors and they swung inward, allowing Valthonin entrance. He slowly walked in, admiring the great hall and the anti chambers. King Geribold was not sitting upon his throne however, and Valthonin guessed he was in the war room.
"Where is the war room, m'lady." Valthonin asked a passing chambermaid.
"It be on your right after the door next to the throne, sir." she replied.
"Thank you."
He walked past up to the empty throne and opened the door a few feet next to it. This was the busiest part of the castle. There were couriers running in and out of the throne room and into other rooms. There were many guards here as well as captains, generals, and other military officials. Valthonin's appearance paved a path through the chaos for him as he strode into the war room. King Geribold was standing over a map on a table at the head of the room with several officials surrounding him. In his 50s, his long black and white hair was topped with a magnificent crown. He still wore his armor on and his sword was hung on his belt. His armor was bloodied. This was obviously a king who fought on every level for his people. Valthonin wasn't going to walk up to a king while in his castle and tap him on the shoulder, so he stood at the entrance to the room and waited to be noticed. That didn't take long. The bickering slowly subsided and all attention in the room was soon on Valthonin, standing in his magnificent armor and his great sword Brightblade strung to his back. The king was the last one to look up.
"Who are you?" He asked after looking Valthonin up and down.
"My name is Valthonin, I am here to assist you in defeating the hrode that has befallen this city." He answered. There was some snickering, but no one outright laughed because of fear that Valthonin would do something drastic.
"No one man can make a difference my friend. I'm afraid that you can either go back to the fantasy land where you aquired that armor of yours or just simply join the ranks of my footmen." The king said to Valthonin, however he did not look away. Valthonin reached up and removed his helm. Everyone now was staring at the silver hair cascading down his head as the helm was lifted and the golden eyes fixated upon their king.
"My liege, if fighting next to your men is the only thing I can do then I would be doing it. However i have the feeling that there is a special task you could assign someone of my caliber to accomplish." The king looked at his men momentarily, then reached into a cabinet behind him and brought out another map, one smaller than the one on the table.
"On this map there is a marked location. This location is very far from here. At that location there is an artifact that we are all sure the enemy has already sent a force to retrieve. We however are spent on men and could not supply an opposing force and hoped that they would simply not find it. Now you stride into my castle and ask for something to do, here it is. Go to it, find it, destroy it. They must not let the artifact fall into the hands of their leader. A description of the artifact is written upon the map. If you are as powerful as you look, maybe you'll succeed. If not, you'll die. Lastly, beware the other raiders of the artifact, they will crafty and deceptive."
Valthonin walked up and took the map, the king assuring his men that everything will be fine. He trusted Valthonin for some reason. Perhaps he had some insight. Valthonin tucked the map into his shoulder slung traveling pack, and pulled his helm out from under his arm and replaced it on his head. He nodded towards the king and walked out of the room.

(sorry for the length, i like to be descriptive. Also i wanted to catch up.)

"Gna!" Malachai yelped in pain as the blade swiped his back. He used another healing spell to patch it up.

"Fine...if that's the way you want it..." Malachai withdrew his blade from its sheath. The obsidian blade gleamed in the sun light. Mlachai swept the wet blood off of his back and wipe dit on the blade, causing his wepaon to grow. "You there!" He quickly grabbed one of the goblins and ran it through on his sword. The goblin's blood caused the sword, which had been a good 4 feet long when unsheathed, to grow to shoulder height.

"Where are you, shadow warrior? Come and face me!" Malachai yelled loudly.

"Uh, Malachai, we got problem." Squee said, reminding Malachai that the bumbling orc was still around. He held up a decapitated goblin body. "Somebody killed goblin. Me want to leave."

"Hmph. I bleive you're right Squee." Malachai, still ready to strike at a moment's notice, unwillingly turned towards the troups to see the goblins falling left and right. "What is this madness?!?" Malachai cried out. "Kyrie!" The bird ceased attempting to enflame the forest and returned to Malachai.

"Once my troops and I are gone, burn this place to the ground. With any luck ,the shadow warrior will follow, and his place will go with him." Malachai whispered in the bird's ear. Malachai and Squee decided to leave the goblins to battle their intruder, but the undead were instructed to follow.

"Here this, shadow warrior! I shall admit defeat for now, but in time I shall return and my forces will be legion. Our battle has yet to conclude!"

Kal'ok'eth saw goblins falling. Shadow Warrior he thought, as he moved nearer to the combatants. A goblin was panicking, and lashing out randomly, and Kal saw a strike that would kill his honor-brother, he was honor-bound to help the shadow warrior, and he blocked the stike, and ran the goblin through. The warrior spun, and Kal quickly said "May the light darken in your presesnce." The traditonal greeting seemed to calm the warrior, wh turned and continued to cut through the goblins.

After leaving the castle Valthonin stopped at a nearby shop and aquired provisions from the shop owner after he cleared his cellar of dire rats for him. He left the city and stopped when he reached the outside of the city gates, which were now up and working once more. He looked around and saw that the coast was clear. Although he was fine with walking some times, this would be a long journey and it would be better to use his steed. He raised his hands and chanted some words. From his hands shot golden light upon the floor in front of him and from the therealness an armor clad magnificent white steed appeared(W.O.W. anyone?).
"Come, Cloud, we have a long journey ahead of us." Valthonin told the horse. Cloud, a gift from Grandolar, had been with Valthonin on countless quests and had charged into battle with Valthonin astride him many times. They were the best of friends as well as comrades. Valthonin hoisted himself astride the great horse and rode off into the forest and the first checkpoint upon the map King Geribold gave him.

:Shinomori spoke to Malakai:

"And I shall be waiting, and your legions will die at Gaia's hands, and drown in torrents of life."

:He carved one last rune into the ground, the blade wet with three bloods;  Squee's, Malachai's, and his own.   He carved two runes.  Dispel, over summons.  Kyrie was sent back to wherever it came from.  He sealed them with Banish, gauranteeing that The Gaint bird would not return. He Rose from Malachai's shadow, his grey-feathered wings folded around him like a cloak.:

"And he shall spread his shadowed wings and fly amongst the treetops, filling the air with a rain of grey feathers, and the ground was soaked with blood."

:He lashed out, carving the rune-word "Silence" into malachai's left cheek.  No matter what healing spell was used, the scar would hold effect until it faded, wiht magic at least a week.:

(Malachai can't speak until he's out of the woods.)

As Malchai and company trotted along, the necromancer brooded mencaingly in his mind.

This...insufferable fool! He who uses the power of the blood runes to silence me. Still, the bloodrunes are not all powerful, and there are weaknessed which I must remember to exploit in our next enocunter. When I reach ta'lein,I must recharge myself, and speak to the demons about Zasalamel's demise, and who was responsible for it. His enemies are more powerful than he can possibly imagine, the entire demon race will be at his doorstep soon enough. The King will not be happy about it at all.

Malachai rubbed his cheek, feeling the word etched in his flesh. Silence. And then he understood.

"Master, the Agressors seek the Mirrari, and have left the forest."

:Domovoi opened his eyes.  He had been sleeping.:

"I will find them.  Are you sure they are hostile?"

"Most certainly."

:Domovoi 'walked to where Malachai was, dressed as what he had been; a warrior monk of the woods.:

"Greetings traveler.  What brings you from the woods?  Why not stay, and enjoy the tranquility of nature?"

"As much as I would like," Malachai replied to the strange man who had approached him. "I'm afraid I have pressing engagement elsewhere. See my friend," Malachai motioned to Squee. "Wishes for me to meet his employer, so that I may make a living for myself. And while these woods are no doubt pleasant and serene, I have encountered one denizen of this area who is far less occomadating. Good day, sir." And Malachai, Squee and the undead army were on their way.

Malachai once again touched his scar lightly with his index finger. The blood from the attacker's blade was still etched in his flesh. Good.

Valthonin reached the woods in little time. He slowed his pace as he rode through, wary of any threats lurking in the shadows. He exited through the northern end of the woods and looked back. Near the western exit there seemed to be a pack of orcs and a lone human leaving the forest. By the looks of it, the human was a dark magician of some kind, probably a necromancer. Valthonin's divine power would prove useful once again. Suddenly another person (what do planeswalkers look like?) appeared and greeted the necromancer. Curse Valthonin's curiosity.
"Sight beyond sight, sound beyond sound." He muttered to his powerful helm. He could now hear them perfectly and see them as though using a looking glass.

Cloud stirred...danger. Cloud's senses for such things was greater than any other creature Valthonin had known. He turned and looked around. Nothing. However Valthonin was no fool. He deactivated his long range features and activated his true sight as he had once before. Valthonin was not surprised by what he saw, he had seen amazing and horrifying things on other planes and dimensions. This time there was a reptilian thief? assasin? rogue? Something along the lines of that. He was approaching Valthonin in standard cloaked procedure and was not aware he was detected by true seeing.
"Ho there." He said to the reptilian being.

(its way far away, if you get it first, ill have to steal it from you or kill you for it.)
Kal'ok'eth had a bad feeling, he knew he should have killed that one, or paralyized him, he began to sprint off, west.

By night fall he had reached a small village, near a river. He stoped at the tavren, had a mug of ale and some food, then went to the stables to enquire about ha strong and fast horse. He was pointed to a paint horse. he placed his hand on its neck and mutterd somthing in his native tounge. The horse responded quickly. what is it you want? it thought. "which of you is the fastest, and strongest?" Kal asked, quietly Nourhalour, the black one by the food-place "Thank you freind.". The ability to speak with certain domesticated animals was gaind through a spell tough to him by his father, it was very usefull at times. He moved over to the horse and said to the keeper "I'll take this one."

With his new horse he soon reached a city. there he slept for the night, and in the morning bought a set of armor for his horse, it was black, trimmed with a ruddy red, like his own. Tai'kor made, it was almost as light as elven armor, but even stronger. He fit it to his horse, which he called Dusk. He rode on, desperate to beat the one called Valthonin

Valthonin went at a fast past, not because he was in a rush but because he had little control over Cloud when they rode for long periods of time. Because Cloud was a summoned Charger from another plane he required no sleep or rest. So the horse liked to push itself and show itself off as much as possible. The horse had a bigger ego than the rider. Numerous times Valthonin was forced to enter races and jousting tournaments to please Cloud. Luckily they had not run into any yet...
Clouds ears perked up and he slowed pace. Valthonin, lost in thought didn't notice immediatly. Cloud could hear it, the sounds of splintering wood and denting metal. The sound of hundreds of souls screaming their hearts out at the sight of a man tossed from his horse by a long stick. When Cloud suddenly veered off course to the right Valthonin was jostled from his meditation.
"What in the nine hells?!" Valthonin shouted. But there was no stopping the now charging horse. They cleared a small hill and on the other side was................................................................a travelling fair.......dear god. The horse really could not be stopped now. In the center of the fair was the main event, a joust. Valthonin calmed the horse down after saying that they would enter. He rode up to the sign in booth and asked the toothless man sitting there if there was time to enter.
"Heeheehee! You wish to enter the tourny and face the undefeated champion, Luis D'lorn? Ha! You's must be mad you are!" He croked from behind the booth. Valthonin sighed, he'd heard this story before. No one had beat him though. Sometimes he needn't even try because the sheer force of hitting something as fast as Cloud ran would dislocate the arm of the opponent.
"Yes i wish to enter, sign me in as Valthonin." He replied
"Oooaight then sir. Its jour skin no' moine. Hee Hee! What title?" He asked
"Title? Um.....well......Grandolar...yes Valthonin Lenthinard of Grandolar. That should suffice."
"Very well m'lord, your up in about 6 minutes, so fetch yee a squire and grab yee a lance and well uhhhhh, prepare to be disqualified HEE HEE!!!"

Kal'ok'eth was close, Dusk, (whose proper name was Nourhalor) had told him. He was told that the air smelled of many horses, (or Rourneteth as they called them selves) so he assumed there was a fair, as it also smelled of sport. From the smell, the horse tole him that Valthonin's was a Charger, a sort of cellestial creature. Many Chargers loved to show off their abbilities, so dusk belived they would be there. Kal'ok'eth would find Valthonin there, and find out why he was here.

In time Malachai and company came to the encampment of Tai'len and her army. He aproached her quarters, but was halted by two guards.

"You are not allowed to pass. None may speak to ta'lein during her meditation." The elfen guard snapped.

Squee reached for his hammer, but Malachai signalled for him to be calm. "It concerns the orb of Hepzibah." was all he needed to say to gain entrance.

Ta'lein sat, cross legged, in the center of a large rune inscribed on the floor of her chamber, eyes closed.

"Excuse me," Malachai began. Ta'lein's eyes flew open and she lept towards Malachai, weapons drawn. He merely stepped to the side, causing her to fall on the floor.

"Before you attack me once more, I have information on the existence of an artifact called the Orb of Hepzibah. Perhaps you've heard of it?"

Ta'lein hostilities ceased instantaneously. "What do you know?"

After a long exchange in which he told her of his happenings in the forest, she explained the rumors surrounding the wastes of teronech.

"Interesting. Then I will depart for Teronech. Squee if you would be so kind as to accompany me?"

"Oh yes, Squee go too. Squee want to see pretty orb again."

"Very good. Now, Ta'lein, outside this tent is an army of undead who I have just control over to you. You may use them as you see fit."

"I think I will deploy them, as well as some of my best soldiers, to deal with this forest guardian you described. One of such power could be quite problematic."

"I don't disagree. May I...?" Malachai inquired, pointing towards the rune, implying he wished to restore his magic.

"Oh of course, by all means."

After he finished his recharging, Malachai and Squee departed from Ta'lein's camp. After a small time of trekking, Malachai decided moving on foot wasn't going to do it.

"How about I summon a little transportation ,eh, Squee?"

"Squee like sound of that, Squee tired from walking and fighting."

Malachai once again repeated his summoning process.

" Summon Zephyr!" All at once there appeared out of nowhere a great horse, enormous in size, gleaming ivory white with three long flowing tails, each one with an orb of light at the end.

"Let's ride."

Valthonin was at the end of the runway, Luis D'Lorn on the opposite end. His flambouyant blue armor told Valthonin he was very egotistical and probably full of himself. The wave of assurance he gave the crowd afterwards solidified that.
"Here you are m'lord, we have two other waiting for the next two runs." Valthonin's temporary squire told him. He still couldn't keep his eyes off of Valthonin's imposing stature.
"Very well. Tell me squire...?"
"Roland sir. Squire Roland."
"Yes Squire Roland, do you wish to become a jouster?"
"Well, yes m'lord of course. Tis a wonderful sport. Most squires are here to learn the trade so that we may be better jousters if sponsered by some rich lord."
"Alright then Roland, watch closely. You will never find a better lesson than the one I am about to show you right now."
Trumpets blared, the announcer introduced Valthonin Lenthinard of Grandolar as the next opponent for the undefeated Luis D'Lorn of Sethenon. Valthonin and D'Lorn trotted up to the opposite ends of the track, each with a lance. Cloud was getting ansy. He was exctited. This poor fool D'Lorn didn't know what hit him.
When travelling long distance Cloud went fast, but at a steady pace. When running short distances like in a joust, he was practically flying. Valthonin had to hold him back a little so that the golden trail of light that appeared behind them when they rode exceptionally fast wouldn't be seen by the audience. When the opponents reached each other D'Lorn was not prepared for such speed and was tossed around in the saddle like a rag doll as Valthonin's splintered lance scattered wooden shrapnel around the track floor. The crowd exploded, finally, some competition for D'Lorn had arrived. Valthonin had purposly aimed for a not penetrating attack so the lance did not rip through D'Lorn's shoulder. D'Lorn appeared to have some measure of skill to have remained on the horse. This intrigued Valthonin. And he looked for the signs of the usual undefeated jouster....and there it was. His saddles footpedals had runes etched into the bottom. This would be fun. He would be ready for Valthonin's next joust however and Valthonin would have to change strategies. They lined up once more and sped at each other. Valthonin  had his shot angled up when suddenly D'Lorn clicked his footpedals outward and a nearly unoticable line of blue light shot from the tip of D'Lorn's lance and Valthonin didn't have enough time to utter a protection spell. He was instantly paralized. Bastard. D'Lorn's lance got him square in the shoulder and Valthonin almost was ripped off the saddle. The crowd exploded once more with joy and little boys tried to catch the splintered wooden shrapnel in their outstretched hands. He lucked out. The paralization was designed to wear off after a few seconds and Valthonin was back to normal. D'Lorn crossed the line. Cloud reired up in anger at Valthonin's loss. "No worries Cloud. I've got him right where i want him." He muttered into Cloud's ear. The opponents angled up again and aquired fresh lances. Then the sped at each other once more. Valthonin saw D'Lorn's feet twitch and saw his chance. Just as he saw the dim blue light shoot out at him he threw his body sideways and just barely dodged the paralizing attack. D'Lorn was surprised and Valthonin noticed the opening. Valthonin angled his lance and hit D'Lorn square in his chest and he was launched off. This manuever however, sacrificed Valthonin's stability and since he was already half off the saddle after dodging the paralization he fell off. Valthonin was alright with that however. It was his real time to shine now. The announcer chimed in.
"Both contestants have fallen from their steeds and now to determine the winner, a DUEL WILL BE HELD!"
The audience was in a riot. This was the most exciting thing these farmers, peasants, and casual travellers had probably seen. Valthonin and D'Lorn stood up and shook themselves off. D'Lord's squire brought him his well made sword. He flaunted it in boast until he saw the two squires necessary to bringe Brightblade to Valthonin's hand. He could have called to it, but that would have caused the audience to think Valthonin was cheating. Valthonin took the great golden two handed sword in his hands and stretched his shoulders. He wouldn't be able to use the sword's magical properties but that was fine. Valthonin's combat skills were legendary in seven different planes of existence. The duel bagan and fear was easily visible in D'Lorn's face through his helm and the way he avoided Valthonin. The crowd began to boo and jeer at him and his desperation got the best of him. He charged at Valthonin in an excellent attack, yet it was futile. Valthonin parried the attack with the skill of someone who knew 12 different variations of sword fighting from different worlds. Valthonin slammed the jewel encrusted pommel of the sword into D'Lorn's helm and dented the metal. D'Lorn fell to the ground and Valthonin placed the tip of his sword a centimeter from D'Lorn's exposed neck.
"Do you yeild?" Valthonin asked
".....Yes, yes i yeild." D'Lorn replied. The crowd charged the field.

Kal'ok'eth walked into the fair, Dusk was waiting for him outside. He saw Valthonin jousting with some fool, in shining blue armor that had obviously never seen true combat. Kal was wearing heavy robes over his armor, the heat didnt bother him, his blades had been repositiond, so they wouldent show. When they dueled, Kal'ok'eth rushed the feild with the other commoners. he then sliped away, to Valthonin's temporary tent, where he would go to wash slightly, and prepare to leave.

He didnt have to wait long. As Valthonin stepped in, Kal hit him with a paralyze spell. "Why are you going west?" he asked

Valthonin had been considering this to be an easy mission Grandolar had sent him on, but that was foolish. No mission Grandolar sent him on was simple. This creature intrigued him however. It was the one he ran into after  leaving the forest. He would play his game, for the moment.
"Why do you wish to know?"

"My reasons are my own, but they may be the same as yours." He cast a charm spell at Valthonin. "Why?" The answer was close. He would know if Valthonin was a threat soon enough.

"Well then my reasons are also my own."
Valthonin, though paralized obviuosly had the ability to speak. With that he uttered softly "Restorendio" and was completly restored.

What resulted afterwards was one of the most titanic stuggles ever to take place in the tiny amount of space a jouster's tent provided.

Valthonin kicked a footstool at Kal and delayed in for the few seconds it took for Brightblade to fly off Cloud's saddle, rip through the tent's canvas and into Valthonin's hands. He adopted a defensive stance to test his opponent and cast a Bless spell upon himself for added protection against magical energy.

Kal'ok'eth drew the sisters, they were hungry for blood. The metal that made them was warm, as if it were alive. "I would have just paralyzed you. and left you here. you would have been delayed for a while, at worst. Now it seems I must kill you" he hissed.
Then he attacked

Valthonin blocked the incoming blows with surprising speed but held his ground. The duel was intense. Looking at the tent from the outside it looked like the tent was alive. The bed, chair, and table were eventually reduced to splinters and the tent was buckling because of the numerous slashes now in the canvas tent. None had cast any spells at this point, as they were both testing each other's limits. Valthonin decided to take it up just a notch however. He lifted his left hand, palm towards Kal, and chanted "Siorendo!" A beam of the purest burning light shot from Valthonin's hand at Kal.

Kal'ok'eth raised the dark one. the beam hit it, and the gem in the hilt seemed to flash. "You wish to escalate things?" Kal hissed, A flash of dark red smoke grew from his hand, and a moment later he was gone. (cloak spell)

Valthonin had dealt with many rogues before, none however with weapons that seemed as powerful as these. He activated his helm's true seeing and was able to see Kal's ghostly visage to his left an instant before he struck at him and blocked the strike.

Following the goblin army north, Ka'rta had made it his goal to killing every last goblin, orc........and Necromancer in this group. " It was for the good of the shadows." he said to himself. Always staying no more than a dozen yards away from the band of Goblins, Ka'rta used his bow to slay many of the creatures, from afar useing the shadows to poison his arrows. Not one goblin surrvived after being struck by one of his shadow arrows.

Kal blocked an overhead strike, then stabbed out with his other blade, the Paladin barley dodging it. He crossed his blades to stop a strike that would have cleaved him from head to foot. Warriors of Shadow used all their limbs to fight, and Kal'ok'eth was no exeption, he kneed the paladin in the gut. He hadn't been expecting that. Valthonin doubled over, and Kal'ok'eth ripped of the mans helmet, throwing it outside the tent.

(You realize of course that you just kneed somebody clad in full body armor [which also means the helm is strapped to the breastplate by leather straps]...but ill let it go.)
Kal was quick. Very quick indeed. However when he tossed the helm from the tent Valthonin was in the position to launch his shoulder straight into Kal's chest, he didn't have time to swing his sword. This attack sent Kal into the canvas wall of the tent and the tent finally collapsed. Valthonin exited one of the slashes in the canvas and calmly walked towards his helm, picked it up and put it on while Kal also made his way out of the heap of ruined wood and canvas that was once a tent. Then Valthonin turned to face Kal, his reptilian eyes reminiscent of Grandolar's.

(er....sory...i seem to forget about things like that)
Kal'ok'eth waited, he would not attack first, because if the paladin launched himself at him, then guards would come, he could use that to his advantage.

The two weary combatants stood for a long while, none making any advance. However what looked like two opponents mearly looking at each other for a while was really the two warriors playing a game of wits within their own minds. Both knew the consequences of causing a ruckus with the fair's garrison of guards practically next door. Eventually Valthonin called to Cloud who trodded up next to Valthonin chewing on some cud, obviously not aware of the current struggle. He sheathed his sword upon his back and mounted Cloud, his eyes never leaving the reptilian slits that were Kal's eyes. They would meet again, there was no need for either of them to say so. However this conflict assured him that there would be more like him after the artifact, which the map told him was called the Orb of Hepzibah. He rode off, this time he did not hold back however and Cloud rode so fast that the golden light began to trail behind him. He had a feeling someone was ahead of him however. He would have to catch up.

Kal'ok'eth didnt know why he held back, he was cloaked, he could have killed him then. Or, he could have let the guards do so. He sprinted to Dusk, who upon setting off said Took you long enough, the Charger has been here already. Its probably got a good lead by now They continued on, until well past nightfall, where they stopped near a stream.

Malachai and Squee were moving at an alarming speed on the back of Zephyr. The otherdimensional horse was quite possibly the fastest horse in the realm where he originated, although this is desputable. They rode for a while longer, passing a street fair among other things. In time, however, they came upon a small travelling merchant. Zephyr was getting tired, so they stopped to see if he had anything of interest. Malachai found just the things he was looking for: Two chameleon charms, which allowed a person to alter their appearance, and a comprehensive alchemy set. Squee was determined to buy the merchant's toupee, convinced it was another rabbit. After Malachai talked some sense into Squee, the necromancer got to work. Using some alchemy equipment, he returned the blood on his face to liquid form, before duplicating yhe blood so there was enough to fill a small test tube. Then they were off, in search of the Orb of Hepzibah.

"OK, you in charge now boss man." Squee said looking back at Zephyr "Dat a fast horse you tink we could race it some time?"
"No Squee it is a war horse, they don't race."
"Oh, but if it do it make lot of gold, nough to buy anyting."

"Squee, do me a favor. Look at the back of our horse. You see those 3 tails? Other horses don't have that. This is the only one like it in existence. no race would let us in, because we'd be cheating. And no, I 'm not even going to consider cutting the tails off. Do'n even suggest it."

"You think this trader got sumpting better dan dis here hammer?  If you do can you trade it for Squee cause you talken better dan me."  Squee held out his war hammer to Malachai, he rubbed his nose"I'm wanting to get that elf."

After descovering that the Necromancer was not among the goblin army, He slew all the goblins in there sleep. (he was afraid to do this before becus of the Nercromancer) But before he killed the last one he interogated him, learning of the orb of Hepzibah, in the wastes to the west. Knowing that this is what the Necromancer was after, he set out west eating some raw meat he stole from the goblins as he went.
