Do you think Jango Fett played a good role to young Boba? Or do you think Boba got his skills by himself? :S

I think that Jango was one of the worst possible role models, and Boba was much better off by himself. I would hate to have Jango train me.

I can't imagine Boba being Boba as we know him without Jango's special approach to upbringing.Whether or not this a way for most children to be raised, however is a completely differnet story.

Jango was hardly ever around, though.

Post Script: Sharra, you may want to correct your title; the spelling is "Mandalorian." ;)

What does being a role model have to do with skills?

Jango did teach Boba everything he knew. Plus, he seemed to care for Boba alot, from what I've seen anyway. Therefore, he was a good role model, in my opinion.

Write annoying quotes and watch yourself get banned.

Please don't be so childish. People do have different opinions, and Draco's just happens to be that he hates Jango. Not the Fetts, just Jango. Try reading past posts before you go off and say things, it'll help.

I'm bad-mouthing Jango, and there is nothing there to be jealous of.

I like to think that Boba got some basic skills from Jango, but grew to resent him as he got older. Boba must have realized how much of a bad bounty hunter and Mandalorian his dad was.

Jango started up Boba's training, but didn't stick around long enough to complete it.  (Come to think of it, he didn't stick together very long either....)

I think that the majority of Boba's renowned skills and abilities come from hard work, and experience, with a nod to Jango for giving the boot camp training.  All in all, Jango is probably not the greatest role model (that's putting it lightly, for those of you who disagree with me.  I don't want to overtly offend anyone.)

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Looks like you're being double teamed there Draco.

I'm not too outspoken about it anymore but I just hate Jango Fett, probably not as much as Draco though. Although there was the one Star Wars Tales (twenty I think? It was the all Fett issue.) Where I did enjoy Jango there if only slightly. But, I'd have to say Jango was actually a fairly good rolemodel as much as I rue and lement it(sp? It's too late to check)
After all, a good head start doesn't hurt. Even if it is the basics. Although I doubt Boba's mandalorian heritage mattered, It's been a while but there's a hint at it in Bloodlines. I don't believe he picked that up.

In contrast, a little help from Jango probably wouldn't have kept Boba alive so long. As a role model? Boba was very fond of Jango, he must have done something to deserve it.

I'll abdicate at the drop of a hat

Omfg you guys made me laugh so hard!!!!!!!!! Oh Satan. Anyway I congratulate you on defending Jango against Draco. I doubt he would ever say the things he does if he was face to face with Jango....anyway he doesn't really have anything to be jealous of except the weapons, armor, and Jango's friends, which total like, 4?

Keep in mind Jango is a fictional character.  Off-topic, I like your title Gustavo.  3 days til Spiderman 3 is released!!

I think Jango was a great role model for Boba.

He gave him a good understanding of the basics of survival and I am sure that that had he survived for longer he would have managed to teach him a lot more.

From what I have read so far Boba thinks of Jango with love, and positive memories of his upbringing with him so that has to be good.

Let's try to keep in friendly in here.  No flaming, please.  Also, please do not make threats to other members on the board, no matter how small.  Thanks.

I agree, although I think Boba could of done without the last image Jango left him with(the whole decapitation thing) as for Draco he's intitled to his opinion, even though I completely dis agree with most of the things he has wrote here.

I have to go with jango as a helpfull role model for 2 reasons.
1.Jango was why Boba got into the buisness and boba use'd much of jango's armor weapons...extra.
2.jango's death, yes I said it was a good model cu'z boba then had to try harder if he didn't he would die there was no father to show/pay the way and he was a harder bounty hunter for it.

I think Jango had his good points and his bad.  He was very human, which is the biggest complaint I've noticed when people say they dislike Jango.  I think he taught Boba the gist of being a bounty hunter, and the fact that he did make some mistakes could have given Boba a clue as to what to do and what not to do.

Plus, it's always easier to see mistakes when watching someone as an outsider.  You don't know their weaknesses and faults when you're the one fighting them.  You don't have time to just observe, so when Boba watched Jango during his fights, I think that's where he learned the most.

Jango was pretty much lil Boba's adult influence. Boba took a step back and studied Jango and Devil Girl made a good point. Jango did die when Boba was pretty young and  I think he learned what he could from the book, but most of it he learned from his own experiences.
