Why do you think Boba opted to go without shin and thigh guards while Jango wore them? Couldn't Boba afford a full suit of armor or did he simply find them too restricting? What are your thoughts?

I think it is because he has pockets filled with tools. That and probably the fact that shin guards didn't really help him that much. The only time it would help him is if his opponet had horrible accuracy... They probably just slowed him down.
Indeed. Boba's armor is more flexible, while Jango's does offer more protection. That's the glory of the younger Fett: he doesn't get hit.
This is also clear in the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, in which Jango's armor gives a higher defense bonus, but restricts the user's dexterity more than Boba's own suit of armor.
I agree with some of what's already been said. He can't move around as fast or easily with the extra leg-armor. And he does have the tools in his pockets. I think if I was wearing Mandalorian armor I'd go without leg armor too, except for the kneepads like Boba. It would just get in the way too much.

he could have done with shin armour in the sarlacc then he might have not lost his leg.
"I should shoot you just for asking about that" (Jango Fett to count dooku for mentioning Galidraan)
I think it is because they created Boba as a character first and when AotC was in production they thought, when they were creating Jango, that they forgot to add leg armor on Boba in the original trilogy and it would look cool on Jango.:)

boba dose not have the shen gard becase he dose not have two holsters to keep from hiting his leg
Well, Boba's probably a bit more faster and graceful than Jango. Look at Jango fighting Obi-Wan--he was very tough and clunky, kinda heavy sounding. Boba in RotJ, on the other hand, seemed to make a softer landing with his jetpack, and look at how he walked in Empire. Very smooth and elegant. So I would say that either Boba doesn't need them, because he's younger and faster, or Jango is slower because he has them.

I like the pocket theory, it makes a lot of sense because Boba does have those big pockets.
My sister-"No way, Jose!" Me-"Yeah way, Enrique!"
im teling he(jango) only had them because of the two holsters
Perhaps after Jango's death Boba found it hard to get in contact with other Mandelorians, so he couldn't get his hands on a full set.

What other Mandalorians? There was a small group during the Clone Wars that thought they were Mandalorians, but otherwise, Boba was the only Mandalorian after Jango died.

Sorry to be off topic but was Boba a Mandalorian? i thought he just wore the armour or does that count as being a Mando?
He's culturally a Mandalorian, but he was never actually a part of the group.

Hmmmm.....ive never noticed that before. interresting but i think that maybe you're right and that they were a little restricting........i mean armor isnt always that comfortable.

I don't know, I think the shin guards would cover up his pockets, and the pockets are really cool looking. (It's like he's shouting, "Look at me, I can fix my own ship, I don't need a wookiee!")

independant......he likes to do things his way. Why not modify the suit to his desired specifications. (its boba's way....or the highway) And you're right chrys....look what happened when he modified slave 1.....it improved it sooooo much....

True.....

Yeah, i really like those pocket thingys on his suit also!

The pockets add more detail to the action figures and add character to Boba himself. But shin guards are cool too. It's just that Boba's too perfect to change.

Boba also never got his armor or his ship re-painted
He probably doesn't need shin guards or his ship re-painted.
Besides it does make him look damn cool...
not getting his ship repainted...that makes sense. Like his armor, it shows its battle scars.

Yes, the battlescars are probably the part that puts people in so much fear. You look at him and you think, "man, better stay away from him, looks like he's been through a lot!"
