so i was reading the SW complete visual dictionary that just came out and on page 92 i ran across a major no no. and yes i do realize that this happens often in star wars but wow this 1 is bad. there is a picture of a male with graying hair and next to it describes his padawan braid. now is it me or isnt their a age where if u dont become a knight after so long then u get like booted. sure he could have been taken as an apprentice but to be his age and be a padawan...weak in the force he is. n e 1 got ideas? and if no 1 has it i do believe it would be in the episode 2 visual book

A 43 year old padawan!? that's impossible unless he disappeared for a while then came back but that's still impossible(I think).
nope it specifys him as a padawan and he has the braid so

that's impossible, no way that there is a 43 year old padawan.
i understad that but if you look at the book it is blatantly a 43 year or so year old padwan so like n e 1 else see this?

Maybe he was just...posing for the picture?
Seriously, 43 years old is WAY too old to be a Padawan. I figured being however old Obi-Wan was in Episode I is the cut off age (Mid twenties perhaps?)

Maybe he was just...posing for the picture?
That was my idea too.
Also, Obi-Wan was 25 in TPM. Anakin was about 21... 22 or so when he became a Knight. I don't think (or don't know of) any reference to about when someone becomes a knight, or how long they can stay a padawan. But it does seem that sometime in their 20s would make a good time to stop being a padawan.

yeah, not early 20's though cuz Anakin was one of the youngest knights and he was lucky to be recognized by the council
The age at which you become a padawan, is traditionally thirteen. They usually stay a padawan until their particular trials are complete. But to get to the trials, their master has to okay it first. That being said, this guy is either the most pathetic padawan ever, or his master is just trying to frustrate him by leaving him as a padawan for his life. Which means that his master is some cruel being. Which means he's more than likely a Sith/Dark Jedi. This is all speculation on my part though.
I saw that picture recently, actually. He doesn't really look that old, maybe he has white hair cause he dyed it or something.

as a guy... dont know who would dye their hair white. Im guessing Lucas would have some weird explanation 4 it like...hes Ghutyoutanian and they physically age quicker so the figure you see is actually 13...Kinda like the movie Jack with Robin Williams..good movie too

There are probably some strange traditions in the Star Wars galaxy.
There are those. I still think that it's either the master or the elderly apprentice that's defective. Something had to have been done to keep him as a padawan, amd that doesn't happen too often. Then again, he could just have a hair pigmentation problem.
