My thoughts exactly.
No offense intended but that kind of lifestyle sounds a bit lame...
Why exactly? Maybe I just like other things more, I still enjoy myself after all. I dont understand why its required to have crushes on people, seriously, it's over-rated.
In times of conflict friends and family can be used as leverage against you. So staying alone can keep you alive longer.
In real-life, the chaces of that happening are almost non-existant.
Unless, your some super secret spy, not saying I am, fighting a super villain, not saying I am doing that, who has captured you and has found out who your family is, not saying that has happened to me, that usually never happens. You get my point. Unless you're like me and all that was way over your head. But family and friends can also help you get through those hard times in life that we all must go through.
They can. They do. But they are also the people with the greatest potential for harm. They (usually) know most of your secrets, and that there is great blackmail/embarrassement material. They can be great, but ona bad day . . . . .You catch my drift?
You have to have pretty shallow family and friends to do that. But hey, I'm sure you have the equally embarrassing moments that they have committed. It's a mutual feeling.
True. I should elaborate. Siblings (namely brothers) have the most power to hurt you: physically, as well as mentally!
eheheh lol, got to love big brothers! luckly for me, i'm the oldest brother!
Same here but when all the siblings maul you, you kind of have no chance.
i had a gf but she was an selfish #@$&*!!! when i was going out with her she was also going out with another guy. so i dumped her. now im single. and it it physicaly imposible to like anybody for me. i dont know why i just cant. btw i dont think it is very good to have a relasonship(spell) with one of ur friend because i u some how break up then it it awkward and it is hard to be friends agian

I have an older brother but I lucked out I got bigger than he did by almost 6 inches so now I can put the smack down on him. (I wasn't always able to though :( )

Family (usually) has the least chance of trying to seriously harm you.
what are you speaking about?
Sibling rivalry goes both ways, and my brother and I got into our fair share of fights . He oddly enough was (and still is) overly protective as well. He once took pepperspray in the face to clobber a kid who picked on me when we were in school (way back when).
As for the bf/gf situation, I think if you have one good, if you don't good. Your life doesn't depend on it. But don't be totally jaded to it because you may or have been burnt.
As for asking someone out, just ask them and be yourself.
It's a gamble, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Really the best thing to do is not throw all your money on the table until your sure you've got a good hand. In otherwords, take your time and consider the options.
hey, virtualbettie, whats your fav star wars weapon?
Hey Green Helmet, that question really doesn't belong in this thread my friend, but just to satisfy your curiousity....
Ye old Flamethrower (worn on the wrist yet) Fire is just so primative, always good to go low tech sometimes.
sorry. Mines a lightsaber, a vibroaxe, bobas blaster rifle and a grenade launcher.

Once again completely off topic.

Well because it seems you would end up being a 40-year old virgin if you did that, and that isn't very....cool.
Hello. I was wondering does anyone have any tips of asking a guy out?
Normally the guy asks the girl out, but I guess if the girl really wanted to she could start some small talk and slowly reach the topic of relationships and then ask.

You really like generalizations don't you? As I said before, a lot of people just don't want to be in a relationship. It's not "uncool" to not be in a relationship, it's a choice people make. Also, it doesn't mean he will be 40 years old and still be against relationships, they may just want to wait until they can be in something meaningful.
Also, if a girl likes a guy and the guy doesn't know, why would he ask her out? Short answer is he wouldn't, and therefor it is a good idea for girls to ask out a guy they like. It's the same concept, just the roles are equal as they have been becoming for the past years now.
Hail to the King Baby!!
I know I'm gonna by lynched for this but here goes. I think gf's are a complete waste of time and/or money. I apologize to you people who think otherwise, but that's the way it seems to be for me. There, I said it.
sometimes they can be, my ex GF, all she wanted from me was........sex at 14!!! omg, I dumped her so fast!
Are you sure that you did not misinterperate her?
no, she ASKED me she wrote me a note, talking about how she wanted to have sex with me. Then she said, "can we mabey do some of that stuff on the note?" I said "Which note?" then she said" the newest one" then I said "umm, NO we are to young to be having sex!" then she got mad at me, and walked off, thinking I would come after her saying ok. But I jsut turned around and started walking away, and she came RUNNING and said she was sorry, and that she sould have never asked that.
Wow. I'm impressed by your morality.
It is too young to be thinking about sex. Believe me you're much better of waiting for the right time and person.
It was like thousands of voices cried out for a sequel and were suddenly silenced...

I'm impressed with the fact that somebody mentioned sex and nobody has made some obsene joke yet... But I guess I'll wait for a more appropriate time...

Exactly! i'll wait for the right time. of course, thats what I was going to do the first time I learned about it too.

*Applauds* :D:D:D:D *Applauds some more*
Speaking from the other side, BFs are a waste of tears and attention. Lots of them, anyway. I can't count how many girls I've seen crying and pining over some jackoff.
I think it depends on where you are in life and what the other person is like.
It was like thousands of voices cried out for a sequel and were suddenly silenced...
True. So far no one's been worthwhile.
I swear I'm not gonna be one of those brods that's unhappy if a man doesn't buy me anything. What a waste!
A relationship goes both ways, people seem to forget that. I think one of the reasons me and my boyfriend have been together so long is that we try and treat each other how we want to be treated.
He wants to go hang with the boys, that's fine. Just don't get trashed and crash the car. Same goes for me. We do certain things together, but sometimes we don't.
I pay for things, he pays for things. Like I said if you find someone interesting, take your time and think about what your doing. I actually ended up with a BF when I wasn't looking for one, than when I was.
Works that way with me and my hubby. As you say treat them how you want to be treated and if there's a problem get it out, don't hide it or expect the other person to figure it out - they're not a mind reader. ;)

I only started dating at 17--- around April of my senior year of high school, and it was a guy my mom set me up with LOL (oh I KNOW someone's laughing at that). She just wanted me to have a date for my senior prom. I did have crushes in high school, but never dated anybody til then. Didn't last long, but it was a memorable prom.
...then I got married at 20 (TOO young!!!). I've been married for almost 7 years, though I can honestly say it's not the best.
You guys/girls here that are wishing to have a GF/BF--do heed the advice some have posted. Wait until it's right for you, things will work out if they are meant to be, and focus on getting your life going and be independant before you go looking for another to share your life with. And, it does help to be friends first. Also, make sure you find someone you can talk to, have decent conversation with, or else you might find yourself rather lonely.
((I pretty much ignored ALL of that advice and am paying for it...))

Woo! You are my HERO ARC! Keep it up! That's so awesome!
And is dating a waste of time? Maybe...I think it really depends on the people.
Never had a date. Or a boyfriend. Or even an inquiry. Scarier, huh?
Heh, well, just remember... the people who are tied up in relationships are missing out on so much. I mean, some people NEED to be in a relationship just to feel happy. Be glad you don't have to rely on someone else for your own well-being. :D
It has been tough for me. Like I said earlier, I've only had three boyfriends and the longest relationship was only two months. It's very hard to make a relationship work when you're in your teens because so many people my age are just into simple "teenage lust." Well, I want to date for more than that. I want someone who truly cares about me, and shares my passions and dreams... I don't need some guy whose only interested in me because I look good in a swim suit and only cares about sticking their tongue down my throat... and them some.
I don't know if this is a touchy topic, but I made the decision a few years ago to remain abstinent until marriage. I was just wondering if anyone had the same view. :)
Though I doubt that I will ever have a choice otherwise for a while, being a Christian, I share that view.
See, it's not really much of a religious thing for me... I mean, I believe in God, but I'm not hyper religous. It's just a personal choice for me. I want to be for my husband and only for my husband... I don't believe in divorce either, which is why I'm not going to rush into marriage to young. I don't care if I'm 30 and still not married. I'll be proud to be a virgin. It's the ultimate sacrifice for God and the ultimate gift to the person I will someday love.
I'm glad you are holding out too, it's comforting... It's very hard for people to take you seriously when you talk about abstinence in today's world.
Yep, I'm for the abstinence thing too. It's not easy, but I think it saves one a lot of heartache.
...Hm, must be a Star Wars fan thing... I wonder why? LOL, just kidding...

Lot of good stuff you're saying Manji. Many people in this world today need to hear this kind of stuff.

I agree. *Applauds crazily*. Words to live by Manji. Nice philosophical view Sev.
