Why would you be surprised if he used an AK-47?  Only one of the toughest guns ever made.

You guys know more about weaponry than I do.  I just chose one that I actually knew the name, knew what it looked like, and knew it was a serious weapon :P

I slightly agree, but why do you think that? M16's get jammed more often than AK-47's dont they?

Kalashnikov is the big name in russian firearms, he designed the AK-47, the AK-74,RPK and RPD machine guns and the notorious Dragunov sniper rifle. I think Boba Fett would assess the job and pick a weapon best  suited for it.

Yes, but its mechanism is tough to clean and easily jams. Adjusting its sights requires a nail or tool of some sort, which makes aiming on a target shifting its range slightly complicated. It also can't be used effectively in hand to hand for fear of breaking the springloaded stock. To sum it up, the vietcong refused to take these weapons off dead soldiers in the Vietnamn war.

Interesting.I don't think Boba's rifle would be fully automatic though. The EE-3 isn't, anyway.

Kalashnikov didnt completely design the AK47, he copied it from the ww2 german sturmgewher 44/mp 44.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Boba Fett's likely use of suppressed/silenced weapons......

He is a hunter/assassin, and a silenced weapon would be ideal for most circumstances. He is discrete and sneaky, and doesnt do alot of "all out combat" so I would probably base his weapon selection on that.....

Keep in mind that he also used alot of gear and tools from Mandalorians of the past. He seemed to be heavily influenced by his father and the Mandalorians. If it were me, doing the type of work that he does in the real world on planet Earth, this is what I would carry:

-Glock 26 + suppressor (its a pocket sized pistol, ideal for close up silent killings)
-HK SL8 + suppressor (long range, top of the line .223 caliber sniper rifle for long distance shots)
-Colt M1911 .45 pistol....you cant beat its reliability, power, and reputation as a defensive handgun. Its been around for close to 100 years and is still considered by many to be the best semi-automatic handgun ever made.
-Lastly, a good old AK-47 assault rifle cannot be beat for situations when all hell breaks loose. Raw power, underestimated accuracy out to 150 yards, reliability like no other, and a reputation of lethality that has been going strong for over 60 years.

I dont think Boba Fett would jump on the newest, most high tech gear for his missions. He would go with old, reliable, proven designs that get the job done, no bells and whistles needed.

This is only a list of weapons, not gear, that list could go on and on and on...

I'm surprised I didn't remember the silencers, either. Anyways for sniping I think he would just add a scope to a rifle, the way he added one to the EE-3.

Somethig like this should work well

THE USP9SD
The Heckler & Koch USP9SD is a full size USP9 variant 1 (SA/DA) 9mm x 19 NATO pistol fitted with a frame mounted left side control lever that acts as a combined manual safety and decocking lever. The standard USP9SD is fitted with match trigger parts and click adjustable sights of sufficient height to see over the mounted optional sound suppressor.

An ambidextrous safety lever and optional 3 dot tritium sights are also available. The barrel is threaded left hand, does not have an O-ring and does not require a thread cap.

An optional Brügger & Thomet (B&T) "Impuls IIA" stainless steel screw on sound suppressor is matched to the pistol via the last three digits of the weapon's serial number when they are assembled together at the factory.

The B&T sound suppressor was developed specifically for use on the HK USP9 pistol and has its own separate serial number. It is possible to reduce the sound signature by an additional 1 to 3 dBs over that of the dry suppressor by adding 5 cc of water to the sound suppressor baffles. It will also help reduce the first round "pop" often experienced with a dry sound suppressor. This water will help cool the hot propellant gases and will last for approximately 20 shots or 12-14 hours, whichever comes first.

THE UMP
The renowned hard-hitting performance of the classic .45 ACP cartridge, the more recently developed .40 S&W cartridge, and the compact, lightweight version in 9mm is now available in a truly modern submachine gun from HK -- the UMP. Available as a select-fire submachine gun or semi-automatic only carbine, the HK Universal Machine Pistol was designed especially for American law enforcement and military organizations.

The UMP is a cost-effective, state-of-the-art weapon that offers the user the advantages of light weight, low initial purchase and maintenance costs, uncompromising reliability, modularity for accessory attachment, and precision accuracy with low felt recoil.

Features:
• Polymer construction for reduced weight and corrosion resistance
• Molded-in hard points for accessory rail attachment
• Can be fired with buttstock folded
• Closed bolt operation ensures excellent accuracy at extended ranges
• Operating controls like those of other HK weapons simplify training
• Cost-effective and low maintenance
• Available as a select-fire submachine gun or semi-automatic only carbine, with a variety of trigger group options including single fire, 0-1-2, NT(Navy) and 0-1-2-full

Specifications:

Caliber   Capacity   Length   Width   Height   Sight Radius   Barrel Length   Weight   Cyclic Rate

9mm x 19 30 17.72/27.17 2.5 10.94 12.8 7.87 4.63lb 600 RPM
.40 S&W 30 17.72/27.17 2.5 11.93 12.8 7.87 4.63lb 600 RPM

If you haven't seen the stats for the new H-K 416 rifle here they are.

THE HK416
Inspired by the resounding success of the mid-life improvement program of the British SA80 (L85/L86) Weapons System, Heckler & Koch began a development program to create the HK416 Enhanced Carbine.

Working with current users from around the globe, HK set out to produce an Enhanced Carbine that would outperform competing 5.56mm carbines and provide the high degree of performance required by the user community, particularly those within the special operations arena who demand more and expect no compromise when lives are at stake.

High-speed video assessment and extensive live-fire testing in extreme operational environments such as the U.S. Army Desert Proving Ground in Yuma, Arizona revealed multiple areas for improvement of the 5.56mm carbine.

Improvements were made to the internal operating system and miscellaneous component parts to improve reliability in best and worse case scenarios, with all types of ammunition, with all barrel lengths and with and without sound suppressors attached.

An innovative free-floating "4-quadrant" rail system designed by HK allows all current standard accessories and sights to be fitted to the HK416 and can be removed without tools.

The HK proprietary gas system does not introduce propellant gases and the associated carbon fouling back into the weapon's interior. This reduces operator cleaning time, and increases the reliability of the HK416 Enhanced Carbine Caliber 5.56x45mm NATO HK416 model D10RS (10-inch barrel, retractable stock) with optional HK diopter sights, free-floating rail system, HK high-reliability 30-round steel magazine, and sling. HK416 model D10RS with HK AG416 40x46mm add-on grenade launcher.

The elimination of the gas tube typical of the Stoner AR15/M16 dirext gas operating system means that the HK416 will function normally even if the weapon is fired full of water without first being drained.

To improve reliability, service life, and operator safety during obstructed bore occurrences or after extreme extended firing sessions, HK has produced its famous cold hammer forged barrel for the HK416 in various lengths to include 10, 14.5, 16.5, and 20 inches.

The highest quality steel is used in this unique manufacturing process producing a barrel that provides superior accuracy for greater than 20,000 rounds with minimal degradation of accuracy and muzzle velocity.

The goal of the program was to offer a 5.56mm carbine that will fire 20,000 rounds without cleaning, lubrication, stoppages, or parts replacement.

In addition to the improvements in the baseline weapon, HK has produced a high-reliability magazine and a proprietary buffer to improve funtional reliability.

An add-on single shot 40x46mm AG416 enhanced grenade launcher module can be quickly attached to the rail system of all models without tools.

Heckler & Koch has applied its proven and fielded Safety Blank Firing Attachment and Live Round Excluder Magazine technology to the HK416 Carbine, eliminating the possibility of live rounds being loaded into and fired through a standard issue weapon outfitted for blank firing only.

Features:
• Short-stroke piston gas system
• Improved buffer system
• Improved steel magazine (30 and 20-round capacities)
• Refined barrel/bolt locking recesses/lugs
• Improved extractor and spring, buffer
• Enhanced AG416 add-on 40mm grenade launcher
• HK cold-hammer forged barrel
• HK free-floating rail system (same height as upper receiver)
• Safety Blank Firing Adapter and Live Round Excluder Magazine
• Beveled and flared magazine well

Specifications:

Caliber   Capacity   Length   Width   Height   Sight Radius   Barrel Length   Weight   Cyclic Rate

5.56x45mm NATO 20/30 27.0"/30.9" 2.25" 7.25" Varies by system 10.5" 7.3 lbs. 700-900 rounds per minute
5.56x45mm NATO 20/30 31.0"/34.9" 2.25" 7.25" Varies by system 14.5" 7.7 lbs. 700-900 rounds per minute

Yeah all these new guns are great and hi tech and cool and all, but I really dont think he would go after the newest and the sleekest weaponry. Like I was sayin earlier, he's a man with strong roots and his armor and gear is all updated versions of old, proven technology. On that note, I'll stick with my idea about the AK47.....Boba goes for the intimidating first-appearance, and I dont think theres any gun quite as recognizeable and intimidating as the AK47. And in keeping with the idea of "updated versions of old technology", he may opt for the AK-74, which is a more modern version of the older model AK. It shoots a smaller, faster bullet with more devastating ballistic potential. I just bought an AK74, and it shoots like a dream.....one thing about these guns though, is that its really hard to shoot with the mandalorian helmet on, I tried!

lol
How about the Heckler and Koch 416 assault carbine? It is gas operated, and comes in different sizes. Even the smallest size is deadly accurate. It can fire about 450 rpm, pretty standard for an assault rifle, but the amazing thing about this gun is that it NEVER JAMS! Put it into a barrel of sand or water and it won't get clogged and blow up in your face. The H&K 416 also can fire in semi-automatic and automatic. Also, it has  sniper and  grenade launcher attachments. Thiis gun can also be fired from ALL angles including upside-down. It is very adaptable, and I definitly think Boba would like it.

Why would he want to fire it upside down ?

The situation may arise when you do not have ideal fireing conditions. Example is when you fire at an elevated target in a building, if you are fireing from cover the abilaty to not have to worry about a jam is somewhat comforting, because in order not to expose yourself you reach up with the weapon at an odd angle or even upside down depending on the circumstances.

I have no idea about the different types of weapons (I have almost no experience of weapons and I have been clay pigeon shooting once) so I will give my rather unspecific opinion.

I think it would be fun to see what Boba would think of earth weapons :)

He would defiantly go for a flame thrower (I have seen pictures of those)
I also think he would go for the weapon that is the most accurate and does the most damage.

As for the vehicle he would go for something that would have room for merchandise, is fast manoeuvrable and of course would be something that he would heavily modify.

I think Boba should use an AK-47 or an UZI.

I'm just helping Boba Fett and killing wookies for him.
