A superb rifle is the Sig Arms 556 more reliable than an M-16 but uses the same ammo.
SIG 556
The time has come. No other semi-automatic rifle has captured the imagination of the shooting public like the SG 550 series rifle. For years this legendary Swiss made rifle has been restricted to law enforcement and military sales where it has continuously built on its reputation for outstanding performance, accuracy and durability. Now, SIGARMS® has undertaken development and production of a U.S. made version. SIGARMS introduces the new SIG 556. The SIG 556 features the same high-performance two position adjustable gas piston operating rod system engineered by SIG’s sister company Swiss Arms and marries it to a trigger housing that not only cuts the rifle’s weight by a pound but is designed to accept standard AR magazines. The SIG 556 features a 16†military grade cold hammer forged barrel, chambered in 5.56mm NATO, with a twist rate of 1 in 7â€Â. The forearm housing the gas operating system is a vented non-slip polymer featuring the SIG TriRail design with three integrated Picatinny rails for mounting accessories. The optional flip up front combat sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The Picatinny rail equipped receiver is made of high strength carbon steel with a durable wear-resistant Nitron® X rifle finish. The trigger housing is made from a heat treated aircraft grade aluminum alloy with a hard-coat anodized finish designed to survive extreme conditions. The rifle comes equipped with a smooth two-stage trigger. The SIG 556 also features an ambidextrous safety and is designed to accept standard AR magazines. A 30-round magazine is supplied with each rifle. Spare battery compartments are provided in the ergonomically designed pistol grip as well as the rubber padded watertight adjustable butt stock. The butt stock also offers sling attachment points. In addition to the standard model SIG 556 which will begin to ship in late Fall of 2006, SIGARMS will also offer the SIG 556 SWAT. The SWAT model will feature the same compact design of the standard SIG 556 with 16†barrel but will feature a flat top Picatinny railed receiver and a tactical quad rail. These two rifles are the first of several new SIG 556 models that are currently in development at SIGARMS. The wait is over. The new U.S. made SIG 556 begins shipping in late Fall – because the time has come.

Not as good as an Ak.
I think, therfore i am I destroy, therfore i endure - IG-88 tales of the bounty hunters
The AK can deliver a bigger punch at close range but is less accurate over long distances, the tolerances are wider so the bullet can wiggle a little more in the barrel. In MC training you get to fire the M-16A2 as well as the AK you can drop the AK i a creek just kind of dump the water out and go on. With the M-16 you better pray that it doesnt get that wet or your f@#%ed the spring in the action rusts and where the mag sits at the breach will jam. The sig fits together better and with the accuracy superior to the M-16 with the reliability of the AK I would bet my life on the sig.
Well, you still can't beat 10,000 rounds per minute.

Check out metal storm's web site prototype weapon 1,000,000 rpm rate of fire.

But it is a vehicle mounted sys. not practical for your everyday use.
BUT........that rate of fire cannot be sustained for metal storm.
Wow, look at the size of this minigun compared to a VW:

Yah the cannon on the A10 is a bad piece of hardware the draw back is that the plane can only carry 14 seconds worth of ammo and if the weapon were fired for all 14 seconds the barrels would melt.
Wow, that hot. Have you read Vassili Fett's book chapters?
My rabbit, Mr. T, was put to sleep yesterday. Because our other rabbit, Bunny, was depressed, we bought another rabbit today.
Thank you. We have not decided a name yet.
Thank you, that sounds good. At the moment we are calling him OB; Other Bunny. He really seems to like it here. He used to be a therepy rabbit.
Poor Mr T :(.

He had an abcess in his throat.
benine or cancerous? or do you know
It was benign.
Or "Benign" as the dictionary calls it.
New off topic note the FDA just announced that cloned meat is safe to eat.
Yes a special label will be on the cloned meat.
And do they plan on tagging meat? I'd rather like to know if my meats been cloned. Inferior gene strength after all.
Plus it's kinda like second hand.

Oh yeah that's just great next thing you know they're gonna announce a Grand Army of the U.S. which will be cloned from uh........hey that's a good question if the U.S. made a clone Army who would they clone it from? Be reasonable don't say something retarded like "Me" or "michael Jackson" ok well anyways I nominate the following people:
1. Arnold Scwarzennegar ( how da F&*K do u spell his last name??), because he used to be really strong, so maybe that would help his clones.
2. uh.............that's all I can think of for now but there's a few other people that could be the template, I assure you.

What's a "therapy bunny"?
I would have to say it is a toss up between ether Alvin C. York or Audie Murphy they were the most decorated U.S. soldiers in their respective wars WWI & WWII. Or if they didn't mind cloning a foreigner then Otto Skorzeny would also be a good choice.

You cannot clone skill. A therepy animal is an animal brought into a hospital (or other similar place) to cheer up the ill.
they should clone the drill instructer from full metal jacket, R. Lee Ermy i do believe. he could wipe out an enemy batallion with harsh language and a megaphone.
If you could clone skill, they should clone Mr. T, B. A. Baracus, and Clubber Lang.
No, you can't clone skill. As it has been discovered if you cloned Mozart, the clone could hate music and be terrible at the piano. The only thing you clone is the blueprints for their body, meaning you would want to clone somebody who is very physically fit and instinctively smart, nothing about their characteristics would be cloned, such as loyalty or determination.
I submit Patton is they don't have to be alive. (you could dig him up...)
If you could clone skill i'd say Vassili Zaitsev from the Red army of World War II, one of the greatest snipers ever.
Hail to the King Baby!!
If you could clone skill, they should clone Mr. T, B. A. Baracus, and Clubber Lang.
that reminds me of a joke:
mr. t and chuck norris walk into a bar together.
the bar explodes because there is no man made structure that can withstand that much awesomeness in one place.
That was fairly random :).

I could go on non-stop with the "Mr. T Facts," the one you said, Wizard, being one of my favorites.
Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Mr. T pajamas.
Ah, Saint_Nasty!! Draco! You two made my day! Great, just great!!!!
