I was wondering how many people here know more than one language. It doesn't have to be entirely. Just a word or two from a language counts.

English
Spanish
Japanese
Arabic
Chinese
Korean
Russian
German
French

I'm even writing a list of the Japanese words I know because I won't be able to take a class till Highschool.
Question, do you say Russian backwards "Car Drives you" or is it just a Smirnoff Joke?

I'll abdicate at the drop of a hat

I know a tiny smidgen of Spanish, enough to get me in a lot of trouble apparently. If they speak slow enough I can pick out a verb or two.
I know some French, mostly cuss words. (I have French Canadian family)

Well, since a word or two counts...

English (Of course)
Italian
French
Spanish
Japanese
Chinese
Russian
German
Arabic

Do made up languages count as well? Like ones from movies and books?

English
Huttese (not enough to speak right, but I know some words and sentances)
German (I can say "Silent Night" but I forgot the rest of the lyrics, and I can say "Do you speak german?" like that'll help?)
French ("Do you speak french?" is about all I know, and a swear word too)
Spanish (slightly, I forgot most of what I used to know)
Ewokese (I can sing the Ewok Celebration Song from memory and know what pretty much all the words mean, and I know a handful of regular words)

For some languages that are written I can pick out enough of what they say to make sense of the general idea. Like on foriegn sites, if it's something somewhat similiar to English I can pick it out.

I have a basic working knowledge of Spanish and a touch of Italian, French, and Thai. Assuming of course, a word or two still counts.

And I think you shouldn't have said that one or two words does count. This list would be alot shorter if it would just not count.

I guess I put the made up languages I know up here too, since they seem to be accepted as well...

Tusken
Mando'a
Huttese
Cybertronian (There used to be a site for this, but it's gone now)
Ewok
Klingon
Kardasi
Elvish
Bocce

I even made up some languages as well, but those don't really count I guess.

Actually you can learn some Tusken from Ben Burtt's book The Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide, it's where I learned Huttese and Ewokese.

I got that Star Wars Phrase Book, which has Tusken, Ewok, Bocce, and Huttese in it, and from various other websites. I find that Langmaker is a pretty good site to search for languages.

Tusken hurts your throat though, so I don't recommend speaking it too often.

I'm fluent in Spanish, and have been academically studying Arabic for 6 months, Russian for one year, and Portuguese while on study abroad.  (And if anyone wants to practice any of the above with me, please PM me!)  I can sing in Hebrew, Japanese, Swahili, Romanian, and so on...
