what would you think if they redid the troopers voices with Morrisons voice? would you like it better? why or why not?

I think it would be alot better, the acent would make them sound cool, and more dangerous, but on the down side the storm troopers would be an ebarresment to Jango, Boba and the real Clone troopers cause they can get a job done and hit a target and storm troopers cant, it would make them look bad. If the storm troopers could just last in a battle they would be worthy to have Fetts(morrisons) voice.

It's a really bad idea cause by the time of ANH most the clonetroopers are dead or in their 60s and 70s and a lot of the Stormtroopers are actual people.

yes that is true that they are actual people but you never know that fact can still be changed.

Exactly. as revealed in battlefront 2, as well as by our common sense, there are very little original jango clones left in the empire and they aint gonna be there for much longer because they're old. so if they changed the voice that would be stupid in my opinion. also, they shouldnt have changed bobas voice. just because you're a clone doesnt mean you have the exact same voice. your voice is shaped by the other voices you hear, languages you know, etc etc, it would be very difficult for Boba to have the same exact voice as Jango.

Besides, is would sound wierd if you heard Temura asking why TK421 wasn't at his post.

Exactly it would be  too Jango Fettish, which would alter our perspective of the stormtroopers. After all, the audience is suppossed to realize there aren't many jango clones left.

I have no idea actually, it's been a while.

Besides that, I don't want to argue with people all over again that Stormtroopers aren't all clones...

I agree with everyone else - it'd be so wrong. Stormtroopers are supposed to be individuals, not clones!

thatd almost be to the extent of changing Sir Alec Guiness's voice to Ewan Mcgreggors. *tear forms in eye thinking about that possible abomination*

Didn't George Lucas say that all the Stormtroopers were originally supposed to be clones but not of Jango Fett?(obviously, since this was way before the Jango Fett/Clone Troopers idea) I'm pretty sure I heard that on one of the DVDs.

But no, I don't think they should change the voices.

It was an officer who asked about TK-421.

And I agree, it is bad enough they changed Boba's voice.

As for being other clones, some are clones of other people. Like some officers would have clones who were stormies. But still not all of them are clones, like Davin Felth is an actual person. And I think Han was a stormtrooper at one point, I know he was an Imp I just forgot if it was Stormtrooper or something else.

I don't think changing the stormtroopers voice to Temuera Morrison's would be good either. Iy would be rather eerie have different people with the same voice. As it was, the stormtroopers were not clones but individuals who opted to join the Imperial Academy.

Well that wouldnt make much sense Obi's old his voice would change.

Why is every one so against Jango, morrison and his voice? it was lucas's decision to change it, one which I support, its a major improvement, Jango's voice kicks @$$. But I was a Jango fan long b4 I even knew who Boba was who knows maybe if i would've noticed boba before i might have preferd the original voice, but i do not so....

Many of us are grew up with the Original Trilogy, and therefore think that it should not be influenced by the Prequles. In my opinion, the Prequles should not have been created.

I have nothing against Jango, Morrison, or his voice. The voice is pretty cool sounding I suppose, and I actually liked how he played Jango, but it's not about that. It's just bad for continuity.

It was bad enough when they changed Boba's because (1) it was not the classic audio that fans have embraced and (2) we found a reason against it with the voice-changer thingy (I don't know the technical term). But changing the stormtroopers' voices is just completely illogical.

December 4, 2006 4:23 pm #

But they were and we have to deal with it there is no going back and changing it now. did every one get mad when they redid jabba the hutt with cgi in A new hope? I dont hear many complaints about it cause it makes more sence, cause what? the fat guy just got fatter, lost his legs and his ability to speak propperly. Lucas is making star wars be the way he wants it, if he didnt want it like that it wouldnt be that way.

December 4, 2006 4:33 pm (Edited December 4, 2006 04:33 pm) #

What do you mean redid the CGI for Jabba? It was never done. It was filmed for the original release in 1977, but it never make the cut. Then they added that whole scene complete with a CGI Jabba in the Special Edition.

Right?

December 4, 2006 4:37 pm #

Jabba was origanly human in a new hope you cant deny that, and in the special adition the cgi jabba was added, if people are so mad about a little voice change, why not a total charachter change? cause it makes more sence it goes with return of the jedi.

Well that wouldnt make much sense Obi's old his voice would change.

my point exactly it just makes no sense andi havent read a new hope the novel but im sure some 1 here has and dont they describejabba in it as a slug? so it technically wasnt a character change otherwise youd have to take everything into account and then skywalker would be starkiller and what not etc. etc. besides voices play a huge part in all movies, 1 wrong voice and your done for...this gives me a new idea for thread...but still voices are big and you can't change that.

they might've described him as a slug, but any one could see that he was not a slug, you say its not a charachter change well so is changing a voice people act like boba fett is a completly different person now. Its just a voice it wouldnt be a dramatic change in the movies boba fett and the troopers dont say much any ways. the only line i remember from a trooper is "open the blast doors". Do troopers even say anything in ESB and ROTJ?

Technicly they didnt lead to clones luke says to obi wan in a new hope "You faught in the clone wars?" so no matter what there was clones, jar jar was aimed to apeal to children so maybe that shouldnt be so fround upon he wasnt supposed to be a bad ass mercenary. I dont mind the voice changes I pretty much prefer them, Morrisons voice goes great with Boba. Midichlorians make everything about the force make sense who are we to say that all these are garbage? They perfected Star Wars.

I hated the voice change plus it was unfair on Jason Wingreen just like saying we found a better person for it, and in no way is Morrisons voice better it does'nt sound unemotional and threatening like how it is described in all the books with Boba.

The Original Trilogy perfected Star Wars. The Midichloians make no sence. How can something in your blood give you telekinises, and myriads of other powers? If it is all in your blood, there is no Force.

As Qui-Gon said, they just translate for the Force. "...telling us the will of the Force". They aren't the Force, they just act as a sort of translater. Midichlorians I mean.

I think its a bit assumptive to say that all the changes have "perfected" Star Wars.

From an obsessing point of view maybe, we really cant change each others opinions. We need to get used to the fact that this is the way star wars is we cant change that, only Lucas can and if he wants to change it its still good enough for me.

Just because Jango wasnt as good as Boba does not mean he is "trash." He was the best bounty hunter of his time. The clones weren't trash either they were way better than the clumsy, weak stormtroopers.

Stormtroopers are weak because the Empire beat the humanity out of them. They don't think, they don't care.

But in all honesty, I don't mind you folks argueing about the difference between Prequals and originals. Just not here, this is about a voice change. Which sounds like a terrible idea, like I said, Stormies are people.

The Jabba in the original was supposed to be his double. There's a short story that mentions it I think. Although Hutt's and humans have little in common.

Voice does play a big part in movies, and I'd like to hear as little of Temura as possible. Nothing again New Zealanders, but it poisoned Boba's voice for me.

Nothing against the voice, it's simply just not Boba. And it's definitely not stormtroopers.

A lot of stormtroopers were individuals during the Galactic Civil War time period but their were still squads of cloned stormtroopers probably not of Jango.  In the book Dark Force Rising Thrawn used cloned stormtroopers, and the answer to the earlier question it was Lt. Pol Treidum who asked "TK-422 why aren't you at your post?".
Other famous clones are that of Luke Skywalker, The Emperor, Baron Soontier Fel, and Grand Admiral Thrawn.  So the voices should stay the same in my opinion.
