Topic: Commander Cody: dead?

I was just looking at the commander cody entry on wikipedia and it states that Cody was killed in battle against Captain Tarpuls. Been wikipedia, it is a bit suspect, but does anyone else know if its true or not? (God i hope not)

I don't know, but I hope not... I find that hard to believe. He survived the entire Clone Wars but was killed by a Gungan?? I don't think so...

Not all Gungan's are like Jar Jar. In fact, very few are like Jar Jar.

Still Cody, killed by a gungan? dosnt seem right? But in the new star wars comic, called The Dark Times, which is set after ep3, hopeful we will see more of all our favorite clones

I realize that not all Gungans are like Jar Jar. It's just that Commander Cody was a very talented clone trooper.  A clone of the most dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy, bred for one purpose, to kill. One that survived many battles throughout the entire Clone Wars. Besides, he has my name!! :lol:

Yeah but as far as we know he could have been taken out from behind or somthing.

If it is on wikpedia i don't think it is true, if i read it in an offical lucas approved item i will belive it

Yeah starwars.com and wookieepedia had nothing about it. The problem with wiki's is anyone can add to it, although it can be fixed and the offender can have their access removed or altered by admins.:)

yeah jaster has a good point and you gotta be carefull with wookie pedia so many links per a page i went there once to confirm that boba fetts escape from the sarlacc was canon for another forum and pretty soon i had spent over 30 minutes there! o man next time im going to set an alarm clock

Wikis can not always true. In complete canon, Boba is dead. What happened in the movies is completely canon. That is it.

well as far as the comics and books are concerned he lives but there is supposedly a "chirismas special" movie that has him in it and its supposed to be after rotj(from what i heard)

but mainly what im supporting this clame on is the new "boba fett unleashed" which is an official product of lucas arts.
so take it or leave it theres alot of info that supports it
but i guess ya its not exactly canon.

Is bloodlines and all the other books/comics with him in not canon ? I think there is to much about him being alive for it not to be cannon even Lucus considered adding a scene of him getting out.

The word is canon, with one "n." The Holiday Special took place before Star Wars (the movie). Lucas said that he considered adding the scene so that fans would not get mad at him. There could be a thousand sources that say Jar Jar bested Yoda in a light-sabre battle, but that would not make it canon. Do you mean the figure in which Fett is fighting the Sarlacc? Figures are certainly not canon. Of course I am playing the Devil's advocate, as I want Fett to survive.

Oops your probably right but i'm sure most of the actual books are canon and in the movies it never actually says he dies he falls in but that dosnet mean he dies.

I have thought about that, and right now, I do not particulary care.

So who are we talking about here, Commander Cody or Boba Fett?

I found out that Cody didnt get killed by a gungan. He was killed when the Death Star exploded in A New Hope. I might be wrong, though, because I learned that on the Wookiepedia. Never trust wikis.

Even though not all gungans are like Jar-Jar they would have had to sneak up on Cody and put a grenade in his helmet to kill him.

I read he retired after the clone wars and became a mercenary.
But of course he IS dead. In bloodlines a squad of ARC troopers are the only living clones, second to seventy year old Boba Fett, who is slowly dying.
So commander cody is dead, but it is unsure by whom.
By the way, Boba Fett's survival is Canon. Play Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. He is one of the bosses in the game. The game is considered canon. (Boba Fett is invincible in the game :P)
Jedi academy is ten years after episode 6.

By the time of episode IV Cody would be really old due to the accelerated cloning process. It wouldn't be a surprise if a gungan could beat up a an 80 year old clone.

Unless Wookiepedia says so !? I thought wokiepedia could not be accepted  as canon. While it may be possible for a gungan to bet up an 80 year-old clone, why would a gungan do that?

and yes, comander cody is dead, i think. but he may not be, i saw a comic where there was a clone who had survived a crash on some planet, he was still alive, that may have been before they figured out that clones have the whole accelerated life span thing though.

i highly doubt a gungan could beat Cody even accepting that most gunguns are better than Jar Jar Binks. i am pretty sure Cody would have died of old age

I'm still mad at C.C. he's the first clone you accually see trying to kill any jedi. Still a bummer he's dead. I'll have to put him on the dead list now. :(

Jar Jar killed Commander Cody. What a waste! I'll prefer one of the clones over that darn gungan any day.
