Back in the day when ESB was FIRST released...'79. Fett caught my eye and I knew there was just something about him.. something I identified with. At 8yrs old, I wasnt able to put my finger on it but I just knew I liked something about him.. then as the years went by and I started finding my own place in this strange world we live in.. and after many viewings of the GREATEST SCI FI MOVIE OF ALL TIME.. I realized the reason I liked Boba Fett SOOOO much. He was self reliant, a loner, a renegade, a mystery. He was his own man.. He made himself who he was, Now mind you , this was LOONG before the whole CLONE storyline. Boba Fett was one of a kind. Not a Rebel, nor an Imperial. He made his own way in the universe being loyal to only himself. He went where the money took him. He never played favorites and never made his marks personal. He was always STRICTLY business when it came to his job. I realized over my 35yrs that I have acquired many of these traits in my own life. Boba Fett is more than just a character in a movie to me.. He IS me...

draco! come on! I like it, and a very interesting story I might add. Kind of close to mine....

I didn't read the story cause of the color. My poor eyes... I could struggle through it if I wanted but I didn't feel like it.

Colors like that can give many people headacs.

I know I dont need to; I just want to.
If you are using color so more people will read your post, the color will likely keep people from reading it.

Wow! Thats so cute! When you say that it actually sounds like you think I might honestly give a &@#$!!
You post your way, I'll post mine!!
I happen to give a "&@#$!!". Weird colors like that give me a headache.

True Warrior, since you asked nicely. Is this any better?
Yanno, I don't really care about post colors. As long as it isn't gray letters on a gray background.
On second thought, that green is rather retina-scalding.
Anyway... back to the point.
I've probably been watching Star Wars for all my life, but I guess the Fettish started maybe 2 years ago. There was something about that visor... and he had such a small part.. then I saw Attack of the Clones and learned a bit more about both Fetts. I just really can't explain it. Heck, I can't explain a lot of the stuff I like. I train mules. Try explaining that.
Anyway...
Now the whole Ailyn Vel premise is what intrigues me. I thought about writing some fanfic about Ailyn and Boba, but there seems to be a lot of Ailyn haters here.
when the empire strikes back came out.i just loved fett on sight.my fave character was always darth vader, but somebody who can outthink han solo and lookes like an ancient greek hopolite( i was at high school at the time and was loving homers Illiad and Xenophons the persian expedition)made an immeadiate fan with me.

Myself one of them...but seriously, don't let that stop you. :)
Welcome to both you and Stone Mando, if you haven't been welcomed yet...and I haven't welcomed anyone ever, so feel honored. :P

Wow.... I'm speechless. Thanks for the greeting.
Yeah... I'm cranking out about two papers a week in college so don't worry about any Ailyn Vel fanfic from me. You won't have any reason to gouge your eyes out in the near future. I'm trying to figure out how to host/upload fanfic. Could I link it to my Xanga blog or what?
Hmm...I don't know, sadly...I just store all my stuff on a forumfire page, and link to it. But you could just cut and paste into a new thread in the Creative section.
Naw, I wouldn't gouge my eyes out...fanfic isn't canon, and as long as it doesn't try to be, nobody will be offended by it. :P As long as it's good writing...
-Captian Murphy
Oh yeah it's good writing- I've been published in a magazine before.
I just gotta find time to write when someone isn't hovering over my shoulder. I HATE that.
:-D We'll be looking forward to that, then... :)
Heh...other than in the RPGs, I haven't done any creative writing in ages...back to the topic, though.
I think I already answered this, but I don't really care that much for Fett...he's just the best SW character, arguably. I just like this forum. :P

I could not have said it better myself. It all started the first time I saw ESB.....and morphed into an obsession....
--Boba Fett
Mine started about six years ago. It all really started from reading fanfiction *blush* I read some stories, got intrigued, and it all went on from there. Now I'm borderline obsessed with anything that involves the Fetts and/ or other Mandalorians.
-Rampage, Beast Wars
I dislike the current Mandalorians to a large extent. They seam to touchy-feely. In the Mandalorian Armor, they are described as ruthless, heartless, and emotionless. That is the way that they should be. The Mandalorians of old (such as Mandalore the Indomitable, my avatar), I like. No offense to you at all, my thoughts on Boba and Jango are completely oppisite of your signiture.

None taken :) I respect the fact that your thoughts/opinions/ect. are different than mine.
Now about the Mandalorians. I haven't read Mandalorian Armor. I have to see if I can find it and do some comparing of my own. I don't know if these would be considered Old Madalorians or not, but I really like Canderous/Mandalore and the Mandalorians on Dxun from KOTOR I and II.
Oh, and I like your Avatar.
-Rampage, Beast Wars
That is a reasonable price, for a very good book. I do not have any of the Knights of the Old Republic games, but, from what I have read, they seem very... accurate.
Excellent. Thanks for the site.

This is a crazy story. Truthfully, i've thought Fett was "that cool guy in armor" for most of my life, and in June i went Fett crazy after i rented Bounty Hunter for PS2. So, in a technical sense, i've only been a Fandalorian for about 3 months. Sad, i know. Can't believe i didn't relize it sooner.
Boba's always been my favorite. I think his voice and armor did it. I was livid when they changed his voice for the DVD.
Yeah i was so annoyred about them changing the dvd voice but the old one will always be his real voice for me.

I got my Fettish when my mom took me to see Empire Strikes back at the theater. (Yeah, guys that makes me kinda old) I noticed this guy that I remembered vaguely from the Holiday Special. I thought, cool I remember him, but what really stood out to me was he was the only guy that had enough gall to get into Vaders face and tell him like it is."He's no good to me dead!" That absolutely bowled me over.
Lol i can imagine Boba slapping Vader and saying pay me more or i will slap you again.

Mandalorian Armor has been sitting on my shelf since it was first published. Never got around to reading it till a few ywars ago. then imagine my surprise when wikipedia says that there is a Boba Fett fansite? I thought I was the only one. Obviously I was wrong!!!!
I thought i was too i was so surprised to see that he actually has loads of fans.

My fettish started when ,i bought my first Boba figure.
My fettish started after I read The Mandalorian Armor, and after I bought a Boba figure.
Mine started when they re-released star wars in 1996, I got a boba fett 3 3/4 action figure and since then he has been my favorite.
when i was about three, he looked so cool and i always loved the villans.
Are you saying a love of villians is what made you like Boba? If so then you are incorrect because Boba isn't a villian, he's inbetween. :)

its a long story for me, but i'll make it short:
the year is 1996. i saw all 3 original trilogy movies. i had barely managed to notice fett in esb, and only noticed him when he fell into the sarlacc.
now its 1999. i dont remember fett at all, when suddenly, he's on the main cover of a lego magazine. inside is a small bio about him, and a comic book about the sarlacc pit. it all started coming back. i still didnt like him though.
its early 2002. episode 2 is about to come out. i saw the poster in the theater, and i saw jango fett for the first time. a few minutes after i saw it, i suddenly gasped out of nowhere, because i suddenly had a vision of a man in mandalorian armor rocketing off the sarlacc and next to luke. and when i realized suddenly where fett had come from, i was shocked beyond....hell. i STILL didnt like fett though.
its 2003. my friend has a book titled: boba fett- the fight to survive, with jango on the cover. it seemed interesting, so i asked if i could borrow it. reading bobas story of when jango died was....inspirational, at the time. after that, my fettish started.
but the storys not over. in 2004 i bought star wars bounty hunter and i learned all about jango fett. now, i didnt know who i liked better, boba or jango. and i STILL dont know.
I have been a Boba Fett fan since 1980 when ESB came out. I also remember him when I was in grade from the "Star Wars Holiday Special". I even made a t-shirt with Boba Fett on it in industrial arts. My classmates teased me about it so I went into the closet until now.
When Star Wars II came out I had a relapse and was delighted to find out about this site which I have been visiting for the last three months.
My Fettish Started when i got Episode II....and it all started from there.

Did you mean Empire Strikes Back or Attack of the Clones?
Me no born when ESB was made.
I meant Attack of the Clones.
I'm surprised i haven't caused my DVD to skip because i've replayed all the scenes with Jango and Boba so many times. lol
I guess everyone can see how old I am! I am considering getting that DVD myself.
I rented it last summer and am glad I did.
Mine also began on episode II (Attack of the clones) but it began more when i first saw the mandalorians on Kotor II
i think they are a great race.
I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars. I like it but I'm one of those people that think George Lucas ruined it with all the CG animations. Most of all by adding Jar Jar Whatever into the story. I'm not really obsessed or anything but I do collect. I'm still a kid at heart. Boba Fett was my favorite character from the moment I first saw him in "Episode V". I'm nearly 30 now but I remember seeing it on opening night when we lived in Germany. My parents bought me plenty of Boba Fett toys back then. They have them stored at their house along with all my other old Star Wars toys. I started collecting Boba Fett items again about 10 years ago when Star Wars first starting comming back on the scene. It was a good time to start because with the re-release of the orginal movie, and the start of Episodes I, II, III, there were, and still are, plenty of new toys and such to buy. I buy just about anything I can find. I even bought the little Boba Fett Burger King was selling last year. Since then I've added statues, jewerly, and more toys. Last night I bought a bobble head on Ebay. I've been planning on getting the skull from his armor for a tattoo. I saw one in the special edition of "Dawn of the Dead". The 2004 version. If you watch the news reels that aren't in the actual movie there is a scene where they are in a morgue interviewing a doctors. The zombie on the table that grabs one of the doctors has the skull tattoo on his shoulder. There are still a couple of statues I need to add to my collection and a painting or two. Those are the more pricey items. The Gentle Giants statues that I already have are my favorites. I'm looking forward to getting the bobble head too.

Explain why the CGI ruins Star Wars
I'm glad to hear you're almost 30. For awhile there I thought there must be something wrong with me being 38 years old and A Boba Fett fan.
