Finally figured out how to get pictures on here...
Here's a PhotoShopped sketch of D'harhan I've been promising for a year.
And here's another one.
Took me about five minutes each.
I'll make some better ones later. I'm a busy fellow.

Nice, very cool. It has probably inspired me to try attempt to make some of my own...

Well, a lot of things probably just have to do with the artist's imagination. Perhaps it never says he has a tail, but you can never be sure what these characters can look like.
He does have a tail, it braces his gun when he fires, like a giant tripod.
Read the book again. :)
I'll make a more definitive picture in a week or so. Got a lot on my plate right now.
Nice! I had a hard time picturing him in the stories, but now that I see this it all makes sense.
Actually, I need to redo him slightly. I reread the book and I'm missing a few things.
I'll post some new ones on Monday, and maybe a few...Shell Hutts. :)
Dude, you have some serious talent!
Does anyone know, do they ever do SW graphic novels? I'd think Fett and his cronies would lend themselves to it, since they're so much larger than life. I like graphic novels because they're way more than comic books, they're a nice blend of both arts: drawing and writing.
There are a LOT of Star Wars graphic novels: just finds a bookstore like Borders or Barnes&Nobles, with
graphic novel adaptions of the Thrawn Trilogy, The Dark Empire trilogy, Crimson Empire, the Clone Wars, Jedi stuff...and much more.
Only one I can think of off the top of my head that's all Fett is "Death, Lies, and Treachery", a pretty good read.
That D'harhan kicks much butt... he looks so scary, yet so pitifully mutilated. An overall excellent rendering!
Wow, it's awesome! I love it! I could never draw anything like that from out of my head! O_O

Gracias! :)
I'm not terribly good at drawing established characters like you are, but I sketch compulsively whenever I can, and stuff like that comes out.
I'll post some more definitive pictures of him later this week... tommorow I'll try to do some Shell Hutts. :D
Wow Balance Sheet, that was definitely worth the wait. And clearly I need to read it again too, because I could have sworn the cannon stuck out of his chest.... (I'd better fix my fanfiction before someone notices.)

You're writing about D'harhan?
Can't wait to see it...he could use more exposure.
That is great! I am sorry that I did not notice this topic before. I am a fairly skillful artist, but nowhere nere that good.

It was his head. I re-read a bit of Slave Ship and I'd forgotten a fair bit of it, so don't worry Chrys, you not the only one ;)
Yes, I just read Last of the Jedi the other day, which was totally cool (except that I thought it took away from D'harnan's mystery). Balancesheet, sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not writing about D'harnan, I just had Bossk make a reference to him in a humor fanfiction.
Meh. :)
Fine with that.
Those pics are so cool.
For some insane reason, i imagend d'harhan as looking like atom smasher from the justice league unlimted cartoon, but with a cannon in his chest. God knows why lol

I have technical question for you Balancesheet, hope you don't mind:
When you shade the dark areas such as the shoulders and armor plates, is that where you use the photoshop?
I'm kind of artistic myself and computers scare me so I was asking what part is computer and what part is free hand.
(btw, the image is great, you're just the critical author always wanting to make things better. good work!)
I don't mind. :)
Yes, I shaded the dark areas with Photoshop...I just sketched the body, scanned it, increased the contrast on the lines, and poured black into the areas I wanted.
Mind you, black is really the only color that works well that way...I still haven't quite figured out how to render other colors more realistically. :(
When I have more free time (June), I'll put up some more artwork.

I don't know exactly if this is what you had in mind, but Pixel2Life has some great coloring tutorials. (As well as plenty of other great Photoshop tutorials.)
Thanks!
Lots of interesting stuff there.
