if you've played BF2 you know in the rise of the empire that the kaminoans tampered with the clone genes and fought the empire with the clones.the emperor after this incident decided to use different genes for the clones.but,in the books the the stormtroopers are referred to by their names but why would the empire name them when the old republic did not?so did they enlist regular people or were they clones?

Sorted by oldest to newestWell, most Stormtroopers were enlisted or drafted. By Empire Strikes Back I think that's all the Empire used but as usual I could be wrong

Yes, the stormtroopers are clones AND regular poeple. I guess the Empire just wanted more men so they offered to pay for the mens college. :) I see that the stormtroopers didnt sound like clones, I dont know why GL didnt just let morrison do a voice over of them.

I don't really like clones to be honest, plus, if Morrison did a voice over for every trooper that takes away the Troopers state of being. They weren't intended to be Clones in the first place.
In addition, the Empire is too cheap when it comes to soldiers. They could just as easily train Humans than buy clones from Kamino.

well tw if you have played the rc video game the commandos develop their own personality so they don't sound like morrison
Huh, so thats why they sound different. I always thought that they were just a mix of humans and clones.

not the original clones

I think that's exactly the way it went. Remember Davin Felth? He was a stormtrooper recruit, the one who found the evidence of droids at the crashed escape pod. He certainly wasn't a clone.
And for one reason or another, according to the Thrawn trilogy, the Empire lost the ability to grow clones. Zahn didn't get too specific on it- probably because Georgie wouldn't let anyone touch the Clone Wars- but it wasn't until Thrawn discovered the ysalamiri on Myrkr that the clones went back into production. Something happened there that remains a mystery, and the cloning technology was lost. It only makes sense that they would resort to recruits (though apparently they 501st was still made up of original clones, for a long time at least)

Yeah, after the Empire took control they started to find other sources for clone templates and also supplemented their ranks with regular human recruits. They also dispersed the cloning operations, so that there wouldn't be one single source of cloning operations. That way if one facility was destroyed, it wouldn't really have a major effect on troop strength requirements, because they'd have other facilities to supplement their forces. Otherwise, the Rebellion could've just targeted Kamino from the get go, and really did a number on the Empire.
I had always heard the reasons the Commando's had different accents, was because of the different dialects they picked up from their Mandalorian Drill Sergeants. Since most weren't all from one single planet (Mandalore), but from all over, they would have had different inflections. Jango's was supposed to have been a Concord Dawn accent, supposedly.

The Empire probably really got off of using clones due to the unofficial clone rebellion. They probably still used the facilities for clones, just not at the huge mass production they used to use it for. I think by the time the Empire ended only a very small percentage used were clones, and an even smaller number were the original clone batch.
You know, money isn't the only way to coerce people to join an army if you catch my drift.
So the Empire could put all that saved cash into the Death Star fund. Which had to be quite a large sum of money.

You see? Thats what Im saying. The Empire needs money for important things like that. I say that they still use the clones, no doubt.

I dont think they use the clones, and if they do then why would they be terrible at fighting compared to Fett, i always had this theory that all the clones for some reason were a bit worse than Fett would be otherwise why would so many die ?

Please try to use periods, as it would be much easier to read. Also, the clones are nothing compared to Boba.

And droids happen to be a better shot. Supposedly.

One of my favorite lines from the Spyboy comics was *After dodging a spray of bullets*
-"For the world's greatest spy, you shoot like a star wars stormtrooper!"
---"I was shooting to injure, but that didn't seem to work either..."

It just bothers me, I can't imagine stormtroopers as Clones at all.

the clones, with their tampered genes to induce faster growth would have a average lifetime of forty years. Provided you don't get killed. and you spend one fourth of your life in training. probably, bythe end of the war the Fett clones were all dead. also why didn't the Kaminoans clone a Fett clone? or used a copy of Jango's DNA? they wouldn't have had to drag in other people
