who would win in space vader or luke?i mean it might be evenly matched because they're both great pilots.but vader may have the advantage with the advanced tie.

Sorted by oldest to newestMy money's on Vader. He's a better pilot than Luke, the best there is, actually. His Force rating is unmatched, well above Luke's level, and he's got a ship that was designed for him. Advanced TIEs are are fast as the TIE interceptors, aren't they? Well, when you factor in some shields on the advanced TIE, which I believe they have, you more or less have an A-wing or better by comparison. The X-wing would have a bit more defense than an Adv. TIE, but that would only prolong Vader's cat-and-mouse game against his son.

I agree with jrd, Vader will win, TIEs are pretty much the most advanced ships there are
Um......there was already a space battle between them in ANH. Luke won.

Whoa! I forgot about that...and that was like the most important part
yeah, it makes sense too I guess.
Back on Tattoine, Anakin was always racing podcars, but Luke was always racing Skyhoppers. So it makes sense that he would be a better pilot.

You've gotta be having us on with that Pod Racer vs. Skyhopper bit, barve. We can safely assume that most of Luke's friends managed to compete (yes, and probably lose) with him in Skyhoppers, but only Anakin made history as the single human that even finished a Pod race.
And, Shade, ordinary TIEs have no shields, no missiles, and no hyperdrive, so you might not claim them with the glory of their advanced models. Actually, when I think of it, Vader's TIE might not have had a hyperdrive, (if it did, then the others might not have, just his).
*I wait to be corrected on this point.*
Can we really count the trench run at the Battle of Yavin a dogfight between them? I'd say no, no way. The only competition between them was Luke slipping away from Vader's targeting. Then you have to factor in the mitigating circumstances of Han blasting Vader's wingman and ending the duel. That's no direct contest. Please...

Yea, TIEs were easy and cheap to build. It's not about how good the pilot is, it's how many of them you can send out at once to over envelop the enemy. In the Empire anyway.

Now are we talking the old T-65 or the XJ? Let me put it this way, the Adv TIE and T-65 X-wing pretty much level out with their pros and cons. So to really determine who would win in a dogfight would depend all on the pilot. But if you stuck the XJ in the equation then you get a different answer. XJ>Adv TIE. I do agree with Maltese on the fact of a basic tie fighter but keep in mind there were a few Squint Squads that seriously owned some x-wings. But those were squints...they probably started off in the basic Tie fighter though.
