Just thought you guys would like to read this. It's a bit long, but I think its worth it for what it tells us. Enjoy! :D

Facts
Pre-production was expected to begin in January 2006. Whether it has or not has not been confirmed.
In a recent interview, Steve Sansweet stated that the series will be released "towards the end of the decade." He gave the time period until release to be "about 3 years." Although the exact time of release is rather ambiguous at this point, fans expect the release to be around 2008. The 2008 debut date was later supported by a quote by Rick McCallum, when he was interviewed for the BBC in March 2006. McCallum explained that the series would be both filmed and released that year.[1]
The series will focus on minor characters in the Star Wars films, ones who viewers have seen on screen before in the films themselves.
The entire series will be set in the 19-year time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
The series will last 100 episodes at 1 hour per episode. (indicating that the show will span several years)
Daniel Logan, who played the Young Boba Fett, has been asked to reprise his role as Fett for the new series by Lucas.[2]
Lucas will produce the show with his work for the first season, and then "hand it off from there."
The style of the series will be in a similar style to Lucas' Young Indiana Jones TV series.
Cameos by main characters are not totally out of the question.
The show is still in its early planning stages, so many plot and/or story elements may change, as Lucas has shown to change his mind easily, such as expressing an interest in expanding the character Aayla Secura, then killing her in Episode III.
According to Lucas at Celebration II, in the series, "a lot of the issues from the films are connected, but you won't necessarily see a lot of the people that are connected."
Lucas has stated that, in producing the show, "we will do what would typically cost $20 million, for $1 million."
Lucas has stated that if this series, along with the 3-D animated Clone Wars series is successful, more series may follow. According to an interview at his AFI lifetime achievement ceremony, future series may include the possibility of a Knights of the Old Republic-era series.
Frank Oz (Yoda), Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine), Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader), Jimmy Smits (Bail Organa), Wayne Pygram (Grand Moff Tarkin), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett/clonetroopers) have expressed their interest in occasional appearances.
The series will be shot using Hi-Definition cameras, according to Rick McCallum at a recent press conference for the Revenge of the Sith DVD.
McCallum describes the series as: "It is going to be much darker, grittier. It's much more character-based."
McCallum says on the writing and plot of the series: "We are just starting to interview writers and trying to really figure out which direction to go to. He envisions somewhere like 100 hours between Episode III and Episode IV with a lot of characters that we haven't met that have been developed in some of the novels and other things. We are really excited about that. Finally, we could have the opportunity to answer everybody's questions once and for all by the time we finish the series."
Only one major Rebel victory will occur in the series, per the opening crawl of A New Hope. However, it is possible that the Rebels may win minor victories.
For the Star Wars: Republic comic book series, Lucas himself instructed the writers not to kill off the Quinlan Vos character. This has led some fans to speculate that Vos may play a role in the series. Lucas had originally written a scene for Revenge of the Sith involving Vos, but ultimately, he only got a mention in the film (Obi-Wan explains to Anakin: "Master Vos has moved his troops to Boz Pity").
In a recent interview, when asked about the show, McCallum replied "Think about bounty hunter, that’s all I can tell you."[3]

I found this article at theForce.net
The Force Might Be With Edward Furlong
I hope it's not true.

I don't think it is. People have been talking about a sw tv series for years upon years. If we're lucky SW will continue to flurish without the devestating after effects of a doomsful tv series. :)

Especially with George behind it...*shudder*...100 episodes, that's a load of ___.  If the first season bombs, they'll pull the plug right away...George has made it very clear that the only thing he really cares about is money.
Though if George get's the ___ out of the way (excuse the cursing, I don't like GL), and lets somebody who actually knows what he's doing run the show, it might not be that bad.   *gasp*  It might even be...something enjoyable, God forbid.

I think the TV show will be awesome hopefully it will take off like clonewars did.

Except Clone Wars isn't canon as it contradicts several books and comics, but unfortunately newbs don't realize this and proclaim Clone Wars as canon, dismissing perfectly good books.

I think it'll be dreadful whether or not GL does it or not. Even if it's not some apathic director who doesn't care if the show's good or not, if it's a fan who gets to make the show, they might ruin it with their own fan creation. "This amazingly amazing mary sue I've created is really behind the main characater's of the movie's success, and happened to have had a love story with one or of them, oh did I mention the character's Force sensative!" o_0

I didn't like Clone Wars; the arts butt-ugly, and everyone looks too weird.

Half Dragon, half human, 100% Fett!

True Clone Wars contradicts i just mean like it takes off so their are good episodes and the people who did Clone Wars loved star wars and hopefully the tv show gets the same treatment. if not then dark days will be coming.

Well, it doesn't matter to me whether or not it comes out anyways; 10 to 1 it'll air on the sci-fi channel, which we don't get (our cable provider only provides it extra on digital cable, and when we got it, my folks opted not to get the tear it was on since it didn't come with very good channels. Its a shame really, even my anti-sci-fi parents have wanted to watch shows on it).

Half Dragon, half human, 100% Fett!
