boba has obviously fought and killed far superior opponents so what made han so special. han is a good pilot and intelligent but boba should have been able to take him, why couldn't he?

"Stand aside I will kill you if I have to" (Bobba Fett to darth vedar in enemy of the empire)
"I should shoot you just for asking about that" (Jango Fett to count dooku for mentioning Galidraan)

He did.  He got him and delivered him to Darth Vader and then Jabba the Hutt.  But after Han's escape, I guess he just had the luck of the Irish with him.

Well, the first time it happened, it was because of Lando. I figure Sadriel is right, Han has too much luck on his side. Think about it from any author's point of view
"well, we can't kill Han because he's a major character"
"We killed Chewbacca though!"
"There's a big difference between Harrison Ford and a walking hairball"
"I can already feel the hate mail on it's way."

It's just one of those things about Star Wars, the good guys are like omnipotent.

Yes, I totally agree with Maltese. This theory is very true, especially with Han Solo. I hate him! He killed Fett without even trying!! Damn heros!!                     jk

lets face it han's initial capture had pretty much nothing to do with boba fett it was all about vader. don't worry though true warrior boba didn't die in the sarlacc he just lost a leg and some other major organs :-)

That lost a leg thing was never proven, most of the story from Tales of the Bounty Hunters is taken lightly. By the Vong invasion, Boba was Mandalore so I doubt that's true.

He didn't lose his leg in the Sarlaac.  It had just started to digest it a little, so later on, it probably got very infected or had severe muscle damage.  That's why he did the bounty on that Devaronian guy, The Butcher of Montellian Serat.  That way, he could pay to have a new leg cloned for him.  However, when he returned to Kamino to have his bad leg replaced, the Kaminoan cloner he saw—his old associate, Taun We—remembering the Mandalorian attacks on Kamino during the Clone Wars, asked Fett to hunt down the last surviving Mandalorian responsible.  Fett hunted down Fenn Shysa (Mandalore, at the time) on the planet of Shogun.  The details of the encounter are unknown, but Shysa met his death—not at Fett's hands, but, ironically, through saving Fett from an unknown threat.

Where's all that from? I didn't know most of that.

The thing is that there are all these stories with Boba and yet the first time I saw him in the films I liked him but I thought he wasn't big time....As it seems GL gives more weight to the good characters...

My only issue is, I don't know much about anything that happens after Return of the Jedi in massive detail.

Some of it's from the books, as well as the Star Wars Insider article, where they did a history of the Mandalorians.
