ok rant over....

That was completely self-contracicting. First you said that you hate insults, but you call them F*****s. Then you say that everyone has rights to their own opinion, but you insult them for theirs. They stand for America, not for racism.

No I said I hated derogratory terms, not insults
The Yautja said
"all Brits are Fags"
That is racism

And I think it is perfectly resonable to insult someone who's opinion is being discriminatory against both gay people and British people.....

I don't hate them, I don't always agree with them but it's not my issue whether or not they decide to argue with people. I've been hit by it  too, so don't think it's coming from someone who hasn't ever gotten on their bad side.
It was John McTiernman who directed Predator originally, at the moment he's being tried in court.
And Stephen Hopkins did Predator 2

F*CK THIS! I loathe Paul Anderson movies... Loathe them the way I loathe BATMAN & ROBIN or ROLLERBALL. They're just things that didn't need to exist. Paul Anderson continually makes mediocre films at outrageous prices. He has taken a great script (SOLDIER) and turned out trash. He's been given gobs and gobs of cash and flushed out on to our screens with turkeys like EVENT HORIZON. He made RESIDENT EVIL which felt like the pansiest loud noisy obnoxiously castrated zombie flick in years! Now they want to trust that guy with ALIENS VS PREDATOR? FU*cK THIS!

I'm only annoyed because you're attacking them in 3rd person. You could be just as guilty for that. Unless you haven't noticed the net is vast, I think we can be pretty certain they read what you write. Uhh, your welcome? Okay, I liked that rant. Very... Random. *ahem*

Here are OTHER things that I LOATHE...

Being compared to someone over and over and overandoverandoverandover again... Highly annoying, it is! I hate having the same meal for three weeks in a row, I hate having NO food in the house except for *shudder* All-Bran, I hatehatehate when people brag (I may have already said that one but hey... It's loathe-worthy :P), I REALLY REALLY hate when I get in trouble for nothing... I don't like grammar either... Ewww...... But I like trees and grass. Don't have a problem with them! :D

Oh, and as a side note, I was reading my newspaper and found a very interesting word that I'd like to share with ya'll: hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia. I'm still trying to figure out how to pronounce it.

1. I like Scifi and Yautja. They can be a little mean to people at times, but otherwise they're cool. I like Yautja better than Scifi though. I'm not quite sure why.

2. I hate grass because it grows and I have to mow it. But if it would just reach a certain height and... stop... I'd be happy.

3. Being compared to someone else. That brings out dark memories, sadness, and anger. Now, I'm pretty. I'm tall, thin, nice figure, exotic, elegant, I smell good, and I think I'm pretty. My sister? She's ugly. She's short, fat, no figure, no elegance or grace at all, she has a weirdly grown tooth that looks like a fang, she has a disgusting face shape, her skin is slimey, and her hair is this thick mat. I've also always been smarter than her in most things. I've always been more successful. I was cuter as a child. I was more friendly. I would play with other kids while she sat in the corner picking at the grass or carpet. In our old home videos from holidays, it was mostly just me and my other siblings, cause she'd just sit to the side picking at the wrapping paper, carpeting, or something. And if we tried to make her be a part of the family she'd start squeeling. Anyway, she seems to have brainwashing powers. All my life people would go up to us, "Hi, Barbara, wow, you're great!" .... "OMG ANd who is THIS PRECIOUS little DARLING!!!!!! Becky!??! OMG, COME GIMME A HUG OH I LOVE YOU". And it's like..... why? What did she ever do to deserve that? When I was a kid I liked a book series. No big deal, who cares, right? I had to beg and plead to get money to buy the books. And even then I could only get a few. Suddenly Becky decides she likes the books too. Within the next few days she was bought the entire collection, in collectors packs, along with a fanclub membership and a few extras like a fact book about it and stuff. I loved writing when I was younger. People didn't care. I had to FORCE my mom to read even one page of something I wrote. Then suddenly Becky decided she wanted to write too. ...my mom not only supplied her notebooks but is acting as an editor for her, helping her work things out. When I was a kid I always wore my hair in a ponytail. No one cared. Suddenly Becky put her hair in a ponytail and she got all these compliments about how nice it looked, and isn't that so cute that Barbara put her hair that way too, aww, she's trying to copy you. "Don't you two look so much alike! OMG, you could pass as twins! :D" and when I denied these claims they said it was sisterly love. W.T.F. Love? More like hatred. Everything I ever loved she took away. The reason why, whenever at my grandma's house, they'd send us kids to the car, then the adults, plus Becky, would all be inside fighting then we'd leave early and everyone would be mad? Becky caused the fights!!! She nearly caused my mom and grandma to disown each other. Becky's caused more fights than the rest of us put together. She has a bad attitude, and tried to copy me in most things I did. Why? Cause she knew that if she copied me she'd get all this attention and be praised for her originality, while I'd be critiscised for copying her. No one ever noticed me, oh, no, all praise and attention to the little pig. Fine, don't notice me, don't care about me. I'll sit here in the corner. I don't need them to recognize me for my own ideals, they can give all the attention to the copycat. I spent most my life trying to do things differently than her. And people still insist on comparing us. They probably still choose her over me. I dunno, I ignore them now. I don't care, I have SW, I have my internet, and I have Vince. If she wants my writings, she can steal them. She wants my non-SW book series, fine. She wants attention from people, so be it. I can come here, no one here knows her, she can't work her mind-warping abilities on you guys. Even old ladies in stores, you know how they are, all goggling over little kids. Me and my siblings would be invisable, they'd single Becky out and bestow attention on her.

I'm sorry Miba. You're a really cool person and you are so strong for being able to endure and overcome that. I really pity your sister though, try as she might and no matter what she gets she'll never be able to catch up to you. =P

As for attempting my own anger management:

I hate it when people talk and say nothing.

I hate when people attack my friends, even if they are mean, sadistic, insane, and twisted.

Thanks Kentaiba and Miba for sticking up for Yautja and Scifi, they're really not all that bad...mostly =p

Aw Miba, that must be terrible to live :(

I don't know what it is to have a sister, I have a brother who is 1 year younger but we were brought up as twins, and there were no real competition between us. I guess my mother did a great job at treating us both equally...

It's truly unfair that your family privileges your sister, I dunno maybe just because she doesn't have your looks... because she's different? That's quite a shallow attitude (to base judgement on appearance), and deeply insulting for both of you. Your sister has no dignity, accepting those good treatments and privileges compared to how your parents regard you. She just enjoys her situation blindly? And even abuses of it from what I gathered? My god....

My thinking is that your parents unspokenly hope that you're gonna be fine in life, whatever you choose to do, and they believe that your sister is the poor unfortunate one who needs saving. This would explain the unfairness and wrong recognition they give just to show encouragement for your sister. It would be like spoiling her life so that she doesn't fall into depravation with all the grim thoughts she could be feeding against you. Okay I admit I'm speculating a bit too far here, but those family issues can be so deep-rooted that the consequences of such bad upbringing can be far more serious than expected.

My advice: I don't know how old you and your sister are, so it's hard to know how far reasonning and conversation can change things... But I'm thinking that she doesn't care much what parents or family thinks of her. I'm thinking that the utlimate gratification/recognition for her might come from you :| If you reach a point where you make peace with your sister (and by those means, she'd have to start respecting you) things might take a turn.

I have five brothers and a sister.

I like The Yaujta and SciFifreak90. I respect what they have to say. I only meant the question as a joke.

Miba: I think Daenna pretty much said it. Your sister probably looks up to YOU, that's most likely why she copies you (my sister does that all the time). since you're sick of that, try and keep your interests to yourself. That way, she wont get mollycoddled for copying you.

June 8, 2006 4:38 pm #

:) Thanks, everyone.

Daenna, I never thought of that, that they might have been trying to give her hope. It might be possible. And, yes, she does take advantage of the situations and doesn't really care who it hurts, I don't think she ever once tried to share with the rest of us. btw, I'm 19 and she's 17. We're a lot better now, mainly cause we ignore each other for the most part. But that is a good idea, that they might have been trying to help her more. She was always more obvious in needing help, like more open about that, showing it on her face and in the way she acted. But, meh, it's mainly over, I just go on the rant about her now and then.

I'm glad you kind of deal with it your own way... :) But no problem if I can help with things.

I was thinking before you posted, that you should maybe have a talk with your parents about it, establish rules, draw a line that defines your "life space"... You gotta tell them that you need to feel free to do whatever you want without putting up with your little sister trying to compete with you (willingly or not), and competition screws up family relations and respect too. Also try to explicit things up and not let problems buried in for them to rise up again at the next crisis. It might sound dumb to express these things out loud, but sometimes it's necessary.

Mutual respect is very important within a family, it took me ages to achieve that with my brother - I hated him so much sometimes because his only presence around me seemed to eat up my personal goals in life... But now he's left the country and he's living abroad, and I miss him so much... Ah well. Life goes on :) Even if it got way simpler since we're not living in eachother's pockets.

Also let time play its part, which I think is what you're doing, we all grow and mature with each day so there's always hope :)

June 8, 2006 4:59 pm #

:) Thank you for helping.

I'm going to leave the talking for it it ever comes up again, though. I hate confrontations with people. And, yes, I think time's done a lot to make things better.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Confrontations suck :( There was a time when I was always about to cry whenever my parents disagreed with me but now... I guess I'm headstrong enough to actually impose my views to them, it's all about timing and precision. If you're not convinced your own self about what you want to say, don't say it. The thing is that I act first on what I want, then I talk about it.

It's like when I decided to join the army: I started gathering all the information I could last year, then little by little I gave out hints about my likes for a military life, not really saying anything about it (my parents thought I wanted to become a pro artist), until this year I was with my mom out in town and I started talking to this military officer who was promoting the army for new recruits. She was kind of surprised about all I knew already ;) From then it's become an accepted decision in my family that I can consider joining the military someday.

I'm not saying that you should do the same :P This is just an example of the process I used to let the message through to my parents. It's something that gets easier with age, I think, because up until I was 20 or something they wanted to know about most of what I was interested in, without really asking but they carried out their judgements rather bluntly. It sucked.

This pet peeve of mine is kind of related to the same problem, except...opposite. Completely opposite. Which is weird...but oh well.

I can't stand when people say my brother is inferior to me. We're really close in age (just a year and a half apart), but the differences between us are really shokcing to people who don't know we're related. As far as they can see, we're complete opposites, which is true to a degree, I suppose. In a societal setting, sure. At home, when no one else is around, we're the exact same person.

But in school, we're different people. I'm the quiet but brilliant kid (I don't think I'm brilliant. Everyone else seems to >_<), valedictorian, who is somehow liked by just about everybody. Respectful, minding my own business, and excelling in just about everything I do, that's me.

Jon, on the other hand, is smart, but he doesn't apply himself. He argues with the teachers, is almost universally hated among the entire school ("Chris, your brother freaks me out. I don't like him."), and is disrespectful to most of his teachers. He's very opinionated, and argues constantly about just about everything. Disruptive, annoying, he doesn't get get involved with much of anything, and if he does he loses interest quickly.

We go to the same school, so quite often teachers who have had both of us will ask our parents, "What happened between the two of them?". Most people who know both of us believe (joking, but not really) that our parents must love me more, because I'm the successful one.

But you know what? I hate that, I really do. Because while he's not successful to these people, he's his own person. He speaks out in class because he believes that the teacher's policies are unfair. He doesn't do well in school because he refuses to cater to a teacher's whims; he does what he wants. In this world, that's considered a rebellious teen, a failure, while the kid who takes it all quietly and doesn't stand up for anything is hailed as a little angel. He's an actual person, something I just can't be. It doesn't work for me. I'd love to be that way, but it's just not in me.

He has a sense of humor. He has a personality. I have neither, really, except with my very closest friends. As far as our material-oriented society goes, that's not what counts. What counts is getting a good job. But I admire his accomplishments far more than I do my own: he's more of a triumph to the human race. He is who he is and not who he's told to be. I find that amazing.

I got off track there, and it probably makes little sense. But basically, I hate it when people say I'm superior to him because of my grades, scholarships, accomplishments, whatever. His stuff may not go on a college resume, but it's what I think really counts in life. He's been my best friend my entire life, and no one's going to tell me I'm better than him. He's the coolest kid I've ever known, and I look up to him, not the other way around.

(By the way, for those who didn't know, my brother is SciFifreak90. make more sense now? :P )

Gunslinger, your story does make sense :) Well, to me it does cause I can relate to it just as well.

My own bro is also the loudmouth type getting in trouble with teachers at school and so on... but I admired him too for his spirit and intelligence. I still do nowadays. He's 22 and has ended up living his own life in Sweden while I'm still at home, unemployed and depressed so... Hehe, but I understand that it's really upsetting when parents and other people talk down on your brother, your best friend. I hated the teachers in school for how they wanted to compare us (in senior year we were in the same class, which was FUN!!! but not to the teachers :P) and they were really out to get him, even if he did a great job with term papers.

Eventually things are turning out fine for him... People who are so outgoing and smart have all their chances in life, and the more they were bullied by authority in their childhood, the more stubborn they become. And that's a great quality for success :)

(Cool to know about SciFiFreak! Tell him that he has earned my respects ;) )

I know what you guys are talking about.

I get passing grades in all my classes. I sit in the front, or try to. My height doesn't help any. The only class I really ever speak out in is history; my favorite class. I'm the girl next door type. Never doing anything I shouldn't. One day, just one day, I go to school with black fishnets armwarmers, my Godsmack tee, and a pair of cargo shorts. Everybody flips out. Suddenly, all the teachers think that I'm doing drugs and crap. Hello? Me, the person who saw what meth did to my birth mom and what it caused her to do to me, do drugs? No. Not my style. Plus, I play rugby. I would get caught in two seconds flat. I may act retarded, but I'm not stupid.

Gunslinger: I figured you knew SciFIfreak90; I just didn't figure you were related. Cool.

Atin, I too noticed my teachers suddenly changed their behaviors towards me when I went from nerdy/shy to geeky/gothy/metalhead genre with Metallica and Slayer tshirts in class :P I was being told by my history teachers for nothing (I'm not a chatter, yet she thought I was disturbing the class), and when I forgot a math paper work I was put to detention for 3 hours every week.

Imagine a 17 year old girl stuck in a small room with scumbags shouting and trying to provoke something... for three hours. That sure doesnt encourage for a sociable personality :P

Same here. We were talking about the EMPs in Science. And I brought up the topic of EMP grenades that they use in StarWars, asking how he thought they worked and I got detention because I brought up a disruptive topic to the lesson. If anything, EMPs would have got people to stop drooling in class. That's when I got into my writing, in detention. lol. Daenna did you ever notice that when a teacher didn't like a kid for some odd-ball reason that they first resort to in-school-suspension?

Thank you True Warrior. I think that atleast one of my teachers thinks I am quite depressed, because I always have my head in my hands. I am just bored, not depressed (ecxept for when my dog died).

take it easy baby take it as it comes

You know what I hate? I hate hangovers. Ever heard of a person having a hangover from drinking too much kool-aid and not enough water?? Your talking to one right now. *groan*

Yeah it's like an escalation, trying to push you around to see if you'll trespass more borders each time, hoping that eventually we can get expelled :P

But I knew better than to play their game and I just started losing interest in having good grades... I went from "Very Good" to "Average - not at the top of her potential" remarks yet I was still showing respect to the teachers. I had realized that what I was learning in senior high wasn't of real use... I actually wanted to learn more, and asking questions was always like defying the teacher's monopoly of knowledge, if you know what I mean. I hate all teachers ever since, there were a few exceptions to the rule (my English teacher in senior year was AWESOME! me and my brother stayed long after class just to talk about Norse mythology, Tolkien novels, etc :))

Things have gotten cooler at university, that is a totally different place from schools for teenagers. In language studies the professors were treating us like adults and didn't care if we showed up in class or not, if we did homework or not (well they cared but didn't make a big deal out of it). My history and literature professor was this old snobby "Count Dooku" type of guy, people hated him because he put on this hypocritical look all the time, but I liked him (and kinda miss him, lol). Most of the professors there were geniuses and I just didn't care if they were good teachers or not, if they gave me good grades or not. That university is a place were we can be anonymous and ourselves at the same time, it's good for self-respect.

See, that's my problem. I try and be the good, quiet kid, with some very odd perks. I like StarsWars, I wrote qoutes on the history board, and just happen to like heavy metal (ACDC, Godsmack, Metallica, etc.). I loved history and got along with just about everyone. But, sometimes, the way people stereotype others just...just infurates me. I go out of my way to be friends with what the popular kids labled as 'odd' and most of the time the so-called 'odd' ones were really cool people. perhaps it's just early teenage-angst but, I get really mad, for lack of better word, when a see a person getting picked on because who they are. I get tortured all the time for being one of the few independent girls in my school and other things but, it's nothing to what some people have to deal with. there's this one guy at school that I'm very good friends with and he happens to be gay. I don't care. He's a good person and treats me with respect. I just get so mad when they make fun of him .

I'm done none. Ph3ar, this thread was a very good idea. Props to you.

Yeah, that is really sad and annoying when people tease others. I truly wonder why people do what they do. Trying to be "cool" by putting others down? That's reely immature, which is kind of funny in the way that the kids that put other kids down are usually trying to be "grown-up"and "cool". I guess that maturity doesn't factor in in their definition of "grown-up", eh?

RC-3222, Atin: yeah, well... we'd have to throw a lot of people into the "immature" basket for acting like that. It's easy to feel superior when you're pushing others down  Self-esteem, greed, pride, power... there are many reasons for someone with no self-respect to start bullying another, it's easy to be mean. Whatever they see wrong in someone who's not like them is in fact the expression of their own self-loathing. They're sad, that's all.

What upsets me more is when adults do it to kids (and to eachother), and when kids repeat the scheme on other kids because they think it's "the way to go" in life. It's a freakin' vicious circle :(

I'd teach own future kids about respect, trust, comradeship and sacrifice as soon as they can speak so that nobody could try to corrupt them with those sick behaviors.

Yeah people who pick on others are total herbs. See at my school, Picking on people is the quickest way to be UNcool. Weird. At my school all you need to become cool is a sense of humor, nonchalant attitude, minor athletic ability, and show disobedience for the teachers.

That would be way backward at my school. To be cool you have to be rich, two-faced, spoiled brats. (That's how I view them). I found this really good quote from somewhere ," What's popular isn't always right and what's right isn't always popular. Do you have the courage to do what's right?"  I hope that I live by that.
