  • April 1978: George Lucas finished the second draft of The Empire Strikes Back which names the character of Boba Fett
  • May 1978: Norman Reynolds sketches titled "Stormtrooper II"
  • June 1978: Joe Johnston sketches start having "Boba Fett" written beneath them
  • June 28, 1978: video test of "Prototype Fett," the all-white Boba Fett costume
  • September 24, 1978: first public appearance of Boba Fett at the San Anselmo Community Fair and Parade
  • November 17, 1978: first television appearance of Boba Fett in the Star Wars Holiday Special
