The son of Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker began as a lowly farmboy on the desert wasteland of Tatooine dreaming as his father had before him, of a life of adventure and meaning.

Luke's dream would be fulfilled ironically, after he came across the horrific sight of the smoldering bodies of his aunt and uncle, Beru and Owne Lars, who were victims of the Empire. This unfortunate event led the young Skywalker on a journey off of his homeworld with an aged Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Corellian smuggler, Han Solo and his Wookie pilot, Chewbacca straight into the heart of the Empires most deadly weapon, the Death Star. Following the sacrifice of Obi-Wan Kenobi at the hands of Darth Vader, Luke along with Han Solo, Chewie and recently rescued Princess Leia escape from the Death Star and flew to the Rebel Alliances base on Yavin IV.

In a very crucial battle between the Imperials and the Rebel Alliance that threatened the latter suffering the same fate as the poor souls of the obliterated planet Alderaan, Luke joined with other members of the Alliance in trying to destroy the Empires deadliest weapon. Fortunately, through the guidance of the Force, and a little last minute help of Han Solo in the Millenium Falcon, Luke was able to fire his X-wings torpedoes into the Death Star's weak-spot and destroy the moon sized base.

Following this event, Luke became a top member of the Rebel Alliance and began training further in the ways of the Force with Yoda, one of the ancient religion's greatest practioners. However, of all of Luke's many victories for the Alliance, his greatest would have to be when he helped his once lost father, having been transformed into the menacing presence known as Darth Vader redeem himself and fulfill his destiny of bringing balance to the Force by destroying Emperor Palpatine.

Quotes

He clenched his teeth, a memory of his brief skiff-battle encounter with Boba Fett flashing through his mind. Wrapped in the bounty hunter's smart-rope, he'd escape only by snapping the cable with a deflected blaster shot.
- Luke Skywalker's memory (p. 73 of "Heir To The Empire")
